The salon itself is very clean and quiet as well - practically everyone including the clientele here is Chinese, so will be very familiar with everyone else who lives in LIC (also mostly Chinese)! The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the pricing is still high relative to some of the nail salons I used to frequent in Astoria. (LOOL i removed the background so i do not expose my messy kitchen). i am certain the technician is skilled and amazing at her job, so it could just be how my nails are -- or there could be a bunch of other reasons why this happened. my lesson of the day is to always trust the reviews on yelp!

However they insisted on cash or Venmo. I don't carry cash and my phone was dead (so no access to Venmo). HOWEVER they forced me to charge my phone with the salon charger so they can receive tip through Venmo. This was humiliating and not to mention entitled of the salon to assume that they earned a tip. They acted this way even though there were other customers in the salon watching all of this happen. After charging my phone for a min, they admitted that they can accept tip through card.
