There are a lot of elevators for folks with mobility issues. The lobby has cold water (sometimes fruit infused). There are many restaurants to choose from, although we didn't try any. There's also a Starbucks on site. There are many pools: a lazy river, a regular pool, a lap pool and hot tubs. We got a room with a balcony overlooking the lazy river and it wasn't too noisy at all. It was so pleasant to sit with the balcony door open to catch the nice breezes. I also enjoyed breakfast on the balcony each morning, including the coffee from the room which was very nice. The room had a fridge so we had many snacks, drinks and other groceries. The cleaners came every day, and made sure everything was tidy and we were stocked with towels and new coffee cups. The gym was great, and not too crowded. I felt like I got a really good workout. There's golf at this resort, in addition to guided hikes, guided meditation sessions, a shuttle to the Mercado District, and more. Very nice place to stay!

From arrival into the valet car service, to the seamless registration and presentation of our upgraded suite, we felt the staff accommodating and anticipating every need. As a Marriott Ambassador level we were given every courtesy available: Early check-in Late check-out Upgraded Suite w/view upgrade Arrival gift and more. Our stay was magnificent in every way with scenic 26 miles of walking, hiking and biking trails in the Tortolita Mountain Preserve along with stargazing due to the extra dark nights. Cannot say enough on our marvelous stay. Must make mention of Cayton's restaurant which offered subdued elegance. First I would like to say that it is a beautiful spot and you can't deny the view! That's why my…read moresister and her husband chose it for their wedding December of 2025. But I want to let others know about our experience because I want to make sure it does NOT happen to future brides. I think this will mostly be about things that went wrong. And we did express our complaints to the owner but did not receive a sincere apology. Again, these are OUR issues and hopefully they can be corrected and improved in the future. *The barn door jammed for my sisters first look for her bridesmaids. Ruined moment. *The coordinator was very nice and did help us a lot in the bridal suite. But when it came to having things ready it was not so put together. She did not have ready the "Aras" or "Lazo" which is part of our tradition when getting married. When the time came, we stood there for a good 5-10 min before my mother had to run and go find it to which then the coordinator brought up. No one made an announcement or apologized. Then she pretty much disappeared the rest of the night. *I barely made it to the entrance song because it was not announced for the bridal party to gather. * The DJ RUINED their first dance because he played the wrong song and did not apologize. We gave him a whole set list to play of which NONE of the music was represented. He only played one line dance song where he got out on the dance floor but that was it. And coming from a Hispanic family, he did not play ANY Mexican music. Half the wedding did not dance at all. He did not announce any events so we did not know when cake cutting was happening or if things were placed out. For guests to view. Guests book signing, momentos to take home were not touched because no one knew about. *We had a High school mariachi band come play during dinner but then after they were somehow allowed to go into the bridal room and just "hang out"??? I don't know who said they could go back there but I was shocked when I went to get something and they were all lounging around our personal items!? I mean bras were thrown and everything back there! That was a big issue for me. Not appropriate. *When dinner came we had ok'd all guests to be allowed to have both entrees. I find out later that one side was offered only a choice instead of both! We had so much food leftover because of this! And the food was not as good as at the tasting. *The bar had pre made cocktails in pitchers instead of making them individually, so they were very strong. And if you had a drink, you had to drink it quickly because they'd come around and pick it up even if it was still full! Such a waste of all our bought liquor and beer. *They allowed guests in the ballroom while we were trying to take pictures of the bridal party so we had to have them go back out which was embarrassing. Then when we requested the guests to enter earlier after photos due to the weather it took another hour to make the announcement. *Not enough cocktail hour food! *Wedding party did not receive any snacks for cocktail hour. *The backdrop in the Photo Booth was not even up! It was supposed to be a newspaper setting and it was just a black curtain. *Not enough dessert and they were serving in paper boats that my uncle had provided for his nachos bar. *They had very young people serving who did not know how to serve or plate. *DJ did not announce the last dance!!!! They missed it and by then everyone had gone because the music sucked. AGAIN, just our experience but I hope those who take time to read this will be appreciative and take time to make sure everything goes how they expect it. And have a boss or someone you trust in charge of the little things to stay on top of them because they didn't seem to care much after they were paid. They were given programs to know exactly how we wanted things to go and they did not deliver.

There is definitely room for some updates. That said, the grounds are meticulously maintained, the staff are all so very helpful, and our personal experience was excellent. We had a nice, clean room with a great view from our balcony of the mountains and the pool area (thanks, Lorenza!). We enjoyed watching the colors of the mountains change during sunrises and sunsets. Your housekeeping staff were all super helpful and did a great job during our stay. We had great experiences at the pool and with all of the pool staff - everyone was very attentive and friendly. John in the gift shop was so friendly and helpful. Our restaurant experiences were all positive, and all of our servers were great. We appreciated the location of the resort relative to local hiking golfing, dining, etc.

I was extremely disappointed with this property. The pictures on the website do not accurately…read morerepresent it at all. While the exterior is attractive, the rooms felt like outdated motel accommodations. Upon arrival, my husband, son, and I drove into the beautiful property, but the experience quickly soured. When I approached the concierge, the woman at the desk was anything but welcoming. She didn't greet me, and her disinterested expression made it clear she didn't want to be there. Throughout the check-in process, she was unfriendly, and when I asked if there was a second key card available, she simply lifted the second one without a word. This lack of courtesy was disappointing. She did explain the wristband policy, but when I inquired about two of our friends joining us, her response was unhelpful and curt, stating the property had changed the rules. The only moment of pleasantness came when she handed me a map with directions. Now, onto the rooms: we were placed in building ONE underground in the 1100s, near the pool, and the smell was unbearable--like stale, damp air. The humidity was excessive, and there were bugs and mosquitoes, as if the door had been left open. There was absolutely no way I could stay in that room, so I asked my husband to see if we could switch rooms while I remained with our son. He returned with a new room in the casitas, but to my dismay, they were just as bad. I should have taken some photos of the situation, but I was too shocked. The younger gentleman at the desk was polite and helpful; he's the only reason I'm giving this experience two stars. The rooms appeared outdated and mismatched, and the floors and carpets were dirty and dingy. While I reluctantly accepted this new room, it was still a significant downgrade from what I expected. At the pool, I noticed that no one wore a wristband, which was frustrating given the hassle I had with obtaining extra wristbands for a party of five. The pool water was freezing, and the jacuzzi had so much chlorine that it was barely usable. I jumped in and quickly jumped back out; it was unbearable. Later that night, the AC in our casita was extremely loud, and our view was dismal, a tiny hill with dead trees. Thankfully, we were only there for one night. Overall, there was nothing remotely luxurious about this place aside from its location in Oro Valley. I typically avoid lodging complaints, but this was not a luxury hotel experience, and there's no justification for the high prices. Do not let yourself be misled like I was. I expected a beautiful luxury villa, and the reality was a complete letdown. I strongly recommend considering alternative accommodations.

Highly recommend this wellness resort!!…read more I was skeptical and used points for my stay but I completely understood why they have decade-long loyal customers. After my first visit, I will plan to return - it was honestly really transformative! There were alot of activities across mind/body/heart; we did a bunch of classes (improv, painting class, mindfulness, nutrition, cocktail mixing, hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, massages, yoga), worked with the rescue horses, and i even got a personalized posture assessment with personalized work out plans. All snacks, meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included. The green juices, golden milks, turmeric shooters are bottomless here along with burgers, tiny portion meals and healthy desserts. I felt rejuvenated following my visit and privileged to be able to experience. I believe they also offer day passes potentially as well. Heads up, the rooms are very dated! And for the price ($1500-$3000/nt) you would definitely expect nicer rooms but the experiences (both paid and free) really make up for it! Look for promotions to improve the value but it's definitely worth a visit if you're looking to destress.

The food…read moreoffered at the resort was overall poor, bland, and far below what you would expect from a luxury wellness destination. There is little variation in food at lunch. Many of the food items were stale (bread, cookies, tortilla chips). The "hors d'oeuvres" were stale tortilla chips, crudite, and various dips. My sister had a prenatal massage, and the provider smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which is completely inappropriate and was very uncomfortable for her. My own 50-minute Sacred Sounds massage was disappointing. The session started 5-6 minutes late, but still ended on time. It was advertised as including breath work, but there was no breath work component. The advertisement does not make it clear that the sound bowl portion dominates the treatment, leaving me with maybe 15 minutes total time for a full body massage. This felt misleading and not what I paid top tier pricing for. It was difficult to find the location of a couple activities, which led to us missing them. One was the stretch class, which is supposed to be at the Body Mindfulness Center. Once we arrived to the BMC, there were no signs directing us where to go. There are several rooms off the main gym, but none had a sign indicating which one the stretch class was in. The 2-hour archery class included at least a full hour of talking and information before you even get to try the activity. Checkout was unnecessarily complicated for us and another group of women. This caused our airport shuttle to leave late. The shuttle took longer than we were told, which led to us getting to the airport only 45 min before our flight took off. Miraval had been a bucket list experience for my sister and I for years. To say that we were wildly disappointed is an understatement. While our room was beautiful, we found ourselves looking at other luxury wellness resorts to try in the future. Miraval charges top tier pricing and is routinely on many travel publications' lists for must-do wellness experiences. It certainly did not live up to that reputation.

I didn't love the reptile house. But snakes really freak me out. It was cool to see them, but not my personal favorite. They had docents stationed around with things to show you. For example, someone was holding a raptor on the way in and teaching everyone about him. Another docent introduced us to a 34 year old parrot named Dreama who loves men with beards. Another docent taught us all about Saguaros and showed us what a birds nest looks like, along with the seeds the Saguaros produce and what the ribs look like. There's a section on caves where you go inside and let your eyes adjust to light- this portion reminded me of the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.
