I found Maralana thanks to the reviews on Yelp. I booked a 90 minute massage for myself and my boyfriend. She was welcoming and made me feel comfortable. I had no idea I was in for pure bliss once I laid down on the table. She found all my sore muscles and took the pain away. She is very knowledgeable in ironing out my abused muscles. She also introduced me to cupping. I was so pleased with the results I have now made her part of my bi-monthly travel to the Eureka area. This was hands down the best massage I have had. I have been suffering from migraine headaches and Maralana was just the right person to go to for massage. She is very experienced and focused on the places I needed attention the most, but also managed to massage the entire rest of my body. I chose a 90 minute massage and I was happy I did! A little bit firm in a couple of spots, but not too much so. Even when she was a bit firm, it still felt great. She was able to straddle the line between medium and overly firm very well. She was very friendly, and listened very well to my requests. I left feeling great. This is *NOT* one of those "questionable places" that offer "extra services."It was a very professional, very legitimate massage. The price was only $60 for the hour, plus tip. Stephanie is very talented and works in an almost clinical setting: a keypad-locked complex of medical offices, not a spa-like setting. The massage room looks like a (charming, pretty) doctor's office. It was not a traditional massage: she felt around very deliberately and used delicate techniques to ease muscle knots. This was not for relaxing self-care, but for expertly & efficiently releasing muscle knots, as the name of the business implies! I could actually only comfortably afford 30-min and that really wasn't enough, but I could tell Stephanie can get your knots out if you have the $ and you give her enough time. :)

The next time they rescheduled me to an earlier time without checking with me. They just sent me an email to my work email but I was on vacation so I never saw it. So they rescheduled me without my consent and then when I was late to the appointment, I got shorted on my massage by about half an hour. Office staff was rude and did not care that they had inconvenience me and charged me money for something I did not receive again. Update. After I called the office on my way to my massage appointment, they offered to reschedule after I told him I did not see their message and was now stuck in road construction. So that was a bonus. Also, I received a call from the office manager the day after I wrote this review. Office mgr told me that they had in fact credited my credit card the $70 they owed me. The thing is no one told me that and I was simply told I had used up all my credit. The office manager wanted to talk to me so I explained to her the problem. I also told her I was super busy and in the middle of loading up the truck for a dump run. It took three tries to get her off the phone after I told her I couldn't talk right now and then she wanted to call me back to talk about it more. I'm not quite sure why. All I want is good communication about appointments and billing. I sort of felt like I was being interrogated about my complaint and it was pretty uncomfortable.

I got a 90 minute deep tissue massage with Maralana and I was very pleased with her work. She was incredibly friendly and made me feel at ease. I have a lot of pain in areas that I wanted her to focus on and she did so without hurting me horribly! (Which is much more than I can say for previous massages I've received elsewhere.) It seems as though the pressure is usually very light or very painful, but she was just right! I felt like she eased in to the pressure enough that it didn't hurt me very much but it was also effective in working out the tension in my muscles. Traveling has been rough on us so we decided to pop in for a massage. My daughter is a massage therapist so I've been getting massages for years but next to her Maralana gave me the best massage I've ever had! She has a firm smooth pressure and unique technique that allows you to relax while she gets deep into the muscles.
