And then that dreadful day came when I received notification that they had moved to Vaughan!! Vaughan??!! So much for getting my hair done during my lunch hour AND... I live a good 40 minutes away from his new location! I really didn't want to spend over an hour (round trip) on the weekend to get my hair done. I was so sad. I clearly had to find a salon closer to my home. I looked and read reviews and decided on a place. What a mistake. Needless to say, it took a long time to grow that mess out and when I thought it had been long enough, I hightailed it back to Frank! It's taken a couple grow-outs to fully fix the error of my ways but I can promise you one thing... I won't make that mistake again. Frank is worth every minute of travel time!

I do not spend much time doing my hair because even when I do, my hair just likes doing its own thing. I rely on the haircut to make my hair look great naturally and Aydin did it. Many times after going to the hairdressers, my hair looks good right up until I wash it and then the magic is gone. This time was different. May sound like I'm bragging, and yes, I am :-) I've been fortunate to be Elena's client for many years and I always leave salon with a happy smile, looking and feeling younger and more beautiful. Today I had another happy visit. I asked for something we did last year, but instead Elena offered a new colouring technique - and OMG, it looks fantastic! I'm often complimented on my hair style and color and it really looks great. I visit salon every 8 weeks and the style and colour look beautiful even 8 weeks later, which I attribute to great products they use and Elena's professionalism. Once I had to reschedule my appointment and instead of 8 weeks it was 11. The color still looked great, which I find pretty amazing. Important tip: always book in advance, as they are very popular (and thus very busy) - especially if you need an evening or Saturday time, and especially around Holidays. I can only come evenings, so I usually book several appointments in advance so that I don't have to worry about it for a few months. If you don't like to book in advance and prefer casual walk-in, this place is probably not for you. The atmosphere in the salon is very nice and friendly. They offer you tea or coffee while you are waiting for color to set. You can also do your nails while you are waiting. Horrendous, rude, and belittling experience…read more 1. The hair stylist (may be the owner) was extremely rude 2. The hair stylist asked me what size I want and I showed her a picture of previous haircut (I have gone to this place many a times in the past years and have shown the same.similar pictures to get haircut done). She belittled me for not knowing the size that I wish to have. 3. The hair stylist assumed that I am "Indian" since I have brown skin and told me it's not India where you just say "Medium" length. I acknowledged my ignorance but she went on to lecture me how I should tell other barbers exact number next time 4. The hair stylist was in a rush and just wanted to get done with me. I seemed like a piece of trash that she just wanted to throw. She finished my haircut with least care and even hurt me (not significantly). If you want to be treated with rudeness, subtle racism, and get a quick (5 mins) haircut, please visit this place. I will be filing a complaint to "Ontario Human Rights Commission" so that this business can be taught on how best (read humanely) to run a business in Canada. I don't want them to go out of business but rather learn to deal all humans (irrespective of their colour of skin, country of origin etc.) with kindness which is what Canada is all about.

It's hilarious that the owner tells you how much tip you should pay, right? BTW, they also charge additional $5 for shampooing (for men's hair cut) You might think that they offer you a good deal, but the price tag becomes hefty once the owner adds up what she things the hair designers deserve to be paid. Very likely, she is not paying them well, and asking customers to pay after they enter the hair salon. When there are millions of other hair salons in the area, why would you go to this place? If you choose to go, I can guarantee you that the owner will tell you how much you should tip and will snatch it from your wallet. We called in and we asked if they can do balayage and they said yes so we booked an appointment. When we arrived, Daniel is a very nice guy and has a good sense of humour. He really knows how to cut hair really well and gives you opinions and options. His assistant however, I don't think she knows how a balayage works. I wanted a dark red balayage ombre. I showed the assistant pictures of how I wanted the colour of my hair to be like but when it was done, my hair didn't have a gradient. Also the inside of my hair didn't have much of a transition from going black to dark red. In my opinion I think this salon is a great place to get a hair cut but if you are going to get colour done such as, a balayage it's best to look for another place.
