The near vert ramp section is pretty dangerous there's a 2 foot deck that you will launch right off of so that can be a lot of fun, you can just fly over that and land on the bank but you need to be ready for that you know I'm saying. Overall I'd say you need to spend an entire day at this place to get comfortable unless you're just round wall all day every day. The local seem pretty young and pretty chill and pretty good at street skating.

I never knew this spot existed in all my years growing up in the area. Jenkins is tucked away behind the West Orange Fire Department HQ. The park entrance is on Rose Terrace off of Valley Road. It's a nice resource if you are in the neighborhood or within walking distance to this part of town. Heads up - parking will be tough, but not it's not impossible to find street parking on another block. The kiddie playground has playsets for children 2-5 year old. There are some benches for parents. Look out for the first responder themed spring riders. I thought these were cute since they are in sightline of real firefighter vehicles and trucks parked behind the WO firehouse headquarters, and little ones may get a kick out of that. The skatepark area was installed in 2017 and is an All Wheel Park concept, a layout for all skaters and BMX riders. There are 4 zones - with a halfpipe, center sets, end ramps, rails, grind boxes, and street features. This part is relatively new, but Jenkins Park is actually much older with a history going back to the early 1900s. Jenkins is the town's first playground and was gifted in 1911 by a resident of Llewellyn Park, which is considered to be the country's first planned residential community. A little bit of history in West Orange. I thought there was an appropriate distance between the skatepark and the kiddie playground, so both can co-exist without sacrificing safety. Also, dogs are not allowed in the park (though I'm not sure how that's enforced) but that ordinance made sense to me for the safety of all - humans and canines (the sound of the ramps and from 280 could spook dogs). In short: Nice local park for young kids and their parents. Small skatepark but with a variety of ramps, rails, and grinds.

It's where you see hometown baseball games and where Food Truck fundraisers are held. Local Carnivals and Fireworks are also held here. It's where you can go and get your cardio on while you walk/run around the Park. Just recently I found out that in the Summer and early Fall months they have a Farmer's Market on Mondays where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Many local 'up and coming' Bands have community concerts here at the Park. This place is a very cool park to hang out and be one with this outstanding Town.

There are new picnic tables, benches, bochie ball(not sure I'm spelling this right) the fields are green and the fence is updated. This park is perfect for a daily stroll, watching your children play sports, climbing on the jungle gym, reading a good book in the shade or sun& having a nice romantic lunch with your other half. Memorial Park in South Orange is a small park. It's a good park for parents with small children. You can take young children here because of the playground and the swings. The playground set is for younger kids, like 2-4 years old maybe. It's also a nice little park where you can get in a quick stroll on the walkways, especially if you are pushing stroller or with kids. There is a circular path towards the back of the park farther away from Valley Street.

Jannarone was built a few years after we moved into town and is close enought for us to walk to for games and practices. When it first went in, we weren't happy about the lights and the whistles late at night, but we've grown accustomed to it over the years and it's just become background noise now. Our kids have played numerous soccer games here, our son is just finishing up his first season of lacrosse, and we sled here every winter so we know the park quite well and have gotten a lot of use out of it. The park itself includes a huge multipurpose turf field that is used for football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. The turf is surrounded by a paved walking track (not a 'real' track) which is nice to have during practices that are conflicting with your gym time...five times around equals a mile here. The turf field also includes a nice scoreboard and an elevated announcers/videographers box. Across a parking lot there is also a decent baseball field set up for regulation play (60' 6" mound and 90 ft bases). Field is pretty nice, but doesn't drain well so it gets closed a lot after it rains-it doesn't get the use I thought it would, but it's nice to be able to use it with the kids for practice. Other facilities here include restrooms (heated in the winter) and during football games at least they also have a concession stand. For all the NIMBYs in my town who didn't want the high school fields turfed because they didn't want their lives disrupted I call BS. Having a lighted, turf field this close is great and has been a huge benefit to the kids in this town. Our HS teams deserve the same benefit.
