I wanted to give this place a 5 stars but the noises from the third floor was the reason that i gave it a 3 stars. This is our first year staying here, our unit was a renovated 2 br 1 ba with washer/dryer in unit. The space is smaller than what i wanted, but we were in a rush to moved cuz we having a baby. The staffs are friendly maintenance is quick. Except for the noises , i can hear the people upstair walking and pounding, my newborn was waking up from her naps so many times. read more

Im writing this wonderful and fantastic letter for Troy the maintenance person who is located at this property. I been a resident for almost 8 years and today Troy is the most efficient, knowledgeable, positive, and courteous person I ever met. Troy has come by to repair almost every electrical product including all the plumbing you can think of. He is always generous, and polite and can fix anything you can throw at him. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the maintenance do a fantastic job too, but Troy has this so-called "magician" and is the total jack of all trades. Troy is very humble but a fantastic employee of this property. I was made aware that he is being transferred to another property and I'm so sorry to see him leave. I currently live at the property with my 2 small children, we have been since early 2019. I have nothing but good things to say about the complex and management as well. The ladies at the office always remember my kids' names. I understand some of the amenities weren't available during the pandemic, but, it is what it is, this was definitely above their control. They have a new manager (Steven), he keeps the tenants well communicated and up to date with any major changes and the staff always send nice Holidays emails as well. Shout out to Gina at the office, she has been there since I moved here and she is awesome. I'm planning on staying there until my nuggets and I are able to get a house. read more

I have lived in Maplewood Park for 12 years. If it wasn't a great place to live, I would have moved years ago. Office staff is pleasant, congenial, helpful and quick to respond to issues. Maintenance staff are awesome. Respectful, knowledgeable and, I find, quick to take care of problems. I left a maintenance request on a Monday night. Garbage disposal not working and water not draining. Maintenance was here Tuesday at 9:40am. Problem solved. Close to everything. McDonald's is 1/4 mile in one direction. QFC is 1/4 mile in the other. A nice, healthy walk. Country Cafe, Subway, Domino's, Safeway, Walgreens, Post Office are all an easy walk. Can it get any better? read more

I don't know what people are talking about when it comes to noise. The most I hear is the person upstairs walking but that's to be expected. Maintenance is quick. Every single thing has been taken care of the following business day. You don't need to call, you can put in a request on the resident portal! The buildings are outdated and the cabinets have improper hinges. The place used to make up for that stuff, along with the terrible inclines due to being built on the sides of the foothills we live on, by being slightly cheaper. Sadly they hiked rents to match the same square feet but with less inconveniences. The staff is nice but struggle to keep up. It took three months after putting a pet on the lease to get the pet rent added on. I'm not mad that I saved $50, it's just frustrating to wonder why they can't keep their records very well. I had a package left at the office because the fancy package lockers were full. It took me two tries to get it, even though the carrier left the standard notice in my box saying it was in the office. I had to ask for a renewal quote this year. Which upon seeing I knew it wasn't worth staying. The neighborhood is fine. I've rarely seen people around, I never brush up against anyone or even know what my neighbors look like. The only disgusting thing is the people who chainsmoke on their balconies. I'm not a smoker and my balcony is full of cigarette butts. My mom visited, swept my balcony without thinking about it. Next thing I know, the downstairs neighbor took it upon themselves to toss a handful of the nasty things in front of my door. The office was alerted and cleaned up the mess. So you do have the occasional dimwit vindictive resident to deal with but that's apartment life. They were the only complex that let me overnight a hold deposit when I was relocating. So they're easy to work with, just be aware that updates to your lease may be slow. I even marked the pet deposit check with a proper memo...They applied it towards rent. Doh. Not much turnover in the office! That's a plus and shows they're at least decent. A solid 3 stars given the few annoyances and bad moments. read more

Yeah, some of the reviews here is true . We live on the third floor, we saw a rat on the first floor while looking in our balcony. Fixing stuff, it depends on the maintenance availability. When you call them, they can set it on the same day. About parking, we don't have any problem now because we reserved a parking spot, but before it's hard to look for a parking spot, primarily if you work late at night. Cabinets and other appliances it's just too cheap, so it's easy to break. Washers and dryers here always broken. We have four washer and four dryers downstairs. In the first week, one washer is broken. Second week, 2 washers are broken, third week 3 washers are broken. ONLY ONE LEFT hahahaha. We suffered for a month before they fixed it. Everybody can't wash their clothes . First come first serve. Because of pandemic we can't use our Gym and Swimming ‍ pool. About Mailing room/ Luxerone the Ipad sometimes is not working hahaha We can't get our package . Report it at the office and they will fix it right away. You know what I love the most here is all of their employee they are all friendly. Rent are crazy here too. The first time my husband moved here $1,100, I moved here with him another $$$$ that was last 2017 now our rent $1,600 plus(2020) probably next year it goes up again. I am thankful we don't have pets yet or else for a 1 small bedroom apartment without washer and dryer it will cost us $2k plus. About our neighbors We can hear them all the time. The sound of the sink, the pounding, the vacuum. Every night you can hear them snoring . We can hear them arguing. We can hear them talking. Everything you can hear it. That's awful specially I am taking online classes. I am thankful we don't live on the first floor or second floor or else we can hear their foot step also lmao . Note don't live next to the front door or hallway door My friend in the first floor said they can't sleep on their room because they can hear the door open and closed and also the people in the hallway talking everything. Things needed repair almost immediately after moving in. Despite indicating on the form that repairmen should not come in when I'm not there, they ignored this multiple times. To add, before we moved in we asked for an apartment close to the street since we'd be taking the bus every day. They said that they would happily accommodate that for us. These apartments are awful! The ladies in the office are just plain rude. The only staff that are nice is the maintenance guys. Though half the time the water doesn't work when you go to use it, the dryers and washers are broke often, majority of the "maintenance" they do around the apartments takes forever. People take your wet laundry out of the washers and set them on the tables or floor. A lot of people let their children just run up and down the hallways screaming, or they just leave their doors wide open and you can hear them screaming and yelling as well. Also, I've come out to my car several times to have people just leaning up against it having a conversation, leaving scratches and dents. And we've had our car broken into multiple times, with a bunch of stuff stolen. They re-did the pavements here and towed our car to another section of the apartments, but when we went in the office to find out where they had moved the car they couldn't tell us and we had to call the towing company just to find that they had moved it to another spot in the apartments. This place is just so full of negatives, I would NEVER recommend ANYONE to live here, not even someone I don't like! I only gave it one star because you have to. These apartments suck so bad I came back to add more to the review. Just so people who are considering moving here, DONT! First, let's start with the apartments themselves... They are very outdated, old appliances, many times the dishwasher is finicky and leaks. The stove is from the 80s I swear. The toilet CONSTANTLY runs. And of course lets not forget about the random moments where you can't use your water for an hour or longer at a time! Every other apartment has a screen door, ours apparently isn't allowed one. They have terrible connections for internet or telephone, we constantly have issues with ours and Comcast has said it is something to do with the building, not our modem. Next we will move to the community, the people you will be residing near... My downstairs neighbor is always playing his bassy, loud rap music at all hours. Sitting in my living room trying to watch the TV that is right in front of me and I can't hear anything but his music. So I tap on the floor to get him to turn the music down, and what do I hear "FUCK YOU!!". You will constantly hear children running around screaming outside.. Which is understandable, except there is a park right next to these apartments and that's where screaming children should be. I am the mother to a 3 month old baby, so I was pushing my baby in a stroller on the sidewalk and there was a bunch of adults walking down the sidewalk towards me, not one person moved so that I could pass by them when there was more than enough room. There's been plenty of times when I'm sitting in my apartment with all windows and doors closed and someone is just driving around playing the bass music in their car so loud it rattles the pictures hanging on my walls. Yeah, lovely people to live around. Now let's do some laundry together! More than half the time the washers don't work, but of course they will still take your money. And they dont refund your money in the office, yay free money for them! The inside of the washers never get cleaned, so there's always someone else's hair, paper, pretty much anything you can imagine getting all over your clothes as its supposed to be washing it. The machines are also very sensitive, they will switch to "unbalanced load" yet still run, so you will end up with sopping wet soapy clothes that you have to wring out in the trash can so you end up having to put them in the dryer twice = twice the money! The lint traps in the dryer are old, most have holes or are broken all together, which is real effective on getting everyone else's hair out of your "clean" clothes. People are rude and just do whatever they please with your clothes if you don't grab them as soon as the time is over. The office is only open certain hours and that's where the machine to put money on your laundry card is, so if you work the same hours that the office is open then you are shit out of luck on being able to do laundry. And its expensive! 1.50 to wash, 1.50 to dry, if your lucky enough to only have to do each once. Also, the door to the laundry room is the heaviest door in the whole building, which is super convenient when you are carrying a basket full of clothes and detergent. The mailboxes are broke enough to the point were if I wanted to pull the metal back and stick my hand in and grab someone else's mail I easily could! Lucky for them I wouldn't do that. However, I doubt all the residents are trustworthy. They say that there is "courtesy patrol", but I have NEVER seen them. Nor are there numbers posted anywhere. These apartments are awful. If you are seriously considering moving here pay no attention to the people that make comments from the office, its all for show. Listen to the people that pay to live here unhappily. read more

If you're a single female, I recommend that you don't rent from Maplewood Park Apts in Renton. Lucy's below yelp review is 100% accurate. Her experience eerily, exactly, mimics mine. This is the loudest, most unpeaceful apartment complex you could imagine. It was commonplace for creepy men to sit on their decks and make lewd comments about/toward women, and because of the multiple car and mailbox thefts and drunk people in the parking lot (a bar is nearby), I rarely felt comfortable walking to my car at night. Next topic: appliances. After repeat visits from "maintenance", my dishwasher never worked. It'd only rinse dishes - never wash. I was tired of having the maintenance guy in my apartment, so I just washed my own dishes for a year, even though I had a dishwasher. Also, the water heater is strange and somehow shares everybody else's warm water in the building (even though you're paying for your own). I rarely had a long, warm shower because of this. Again, after repeated maintenance visits, they said I had plenty of hot water when in reality, I had about 7 minutes of warm water. Also, similar to Lucy's review, note that the cable and electric outlets are painted over, loose, etc. It's terribly annoying to vacuum when the plug won't stay in the outlet. Ever. My lamps would also randomly fall out of the plug. Last topic: pets. Oh goodness, how do I describe how obnoxious the animals are here. Small, yippy dogs bark for hours, people's pet birds chirp on their decks and in their apartments for hours, puppies bark and whine for hours while the people are away. If you complain to the apartment complex, they do nothing to remedy the issue. Nothing. I expect somebody in the apartment office to reply to this review and say that there's "security" and attentive office staff to reply to any concerns. Yeah right. Sure, some of the office people are genuinely nice people, but they suck at enforcing any apartment rule. If you're hunting for an apartment, and you want a safe, quiet place, lease from somewhere else. read more

There are serious safety issues with the apartment(mold),and with the other tenant's.I have experienced sexual harassment,vandalism to my car,people dealing drugs,dog poop in the hall way.Oh, in some stair ways there are little spaces by the window and homeless people like to sleep,drink,and urinate there.That has been an ongoing problem with the manager,and police.The noise level is horrible.The tenants don't watch or control their kids,so they let them scream,run around and bang on walls.Also, pertaining to noise tenants play loud music, and yell at all hours.Another thing to remember is that if you do rent here expect a lot of people knocking at your door selling junk.There is no security here,and there are no lights out in the parking lot.This place has been an absolute nightmare,and I have feared for my safety. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have lived in apartments for 8 years now and these are hands down the worst. First the parking issue, if you are close to the dog park you will have PLENTY of parking and if not, well you're screwed. Next do you like seeing rats everywhere? Or how about how they climbed up in our car and chewed wires requiring us to pay a total of $800 if we wanted to have a running car again. Next you have the mail. They make you create a stupid account and when you are supposed to receive your package it may take days after that. I have actually not gotten one of my packages at all and the office couldn't care less. Next you have dogs barking off patios non-stop. Don't believe me? Look for yourself. Next the walls are as thin as they come, I have called the police due to domestic violence. People try to walk into your apartment daily. Dog poop every where. Hope you don't own nice shoes. The hallways reek like pee and mold. Spiders everywhere. And don't even get me started on the laundry. I have dried a load 4 times and finally gave up because the clothes were still drenched. And believe me when I say I have tried EVERY machine. Not only the ones in our apartments. Save yourself the pain and don't live here. Thankfully my 1 year lease is up in 2 months and I will be out of here as fast as I can. Never looking back. Also the prices are ridiculous once you see what you are getting. Our apartments cabinets, doors, lights, closet and blinds have all been broken. It took them over 3 weeks of non stop calling to actually fix the problem. We have left a lot of the problems because it isn't worth the fight. These 'good' comments simply aren't real. Good luck and please find a better apartment complex. I felt very safe and it was my home. The team was very customer service oriented. The office team were always ready to answer any questions and were very pleasant. The maintenance team: I asked and they always came for anything that needed to be fixed in and outside the apartment. The manager: I asked and she came to make renters the high noise to stop and/or asked renters to follow the rules of being good renters. Continued: When a neighborhood is trashed, people will jump in the bandwagon and prolong the trend of trashing the neighborhood. People thinks its ok to do it because there is a non-existent force that stops them. Or maybe, they're culturally raised like that. Building a new amenity that starkly resembles of gentrification does not improve the neighborhood. There could have been better utility systems. For instance, recycling bins should not be concentrated in one area of the parking lot but in sporadic areas of the complex. There has to be covered trash cans in hallways, too. The exterior of the apartment buildings were recently painted again but with the same paint color. The same paint colors of the apartments look dingier than the potential exterior of the new fitness center. My expectations for new exterior paint has not been achieved. There could have been renovations for better walls (they're non-insulated), better laundry rooms or even better laundry systems in each unit, better playgrounds (playgrounds are outdated so children resort to playing in the parking lot where residents drive fast), and better security (WE NEED LOCKED ENTRANCES TO THE APARTMENT BUILDINGS). Other apartments that charge $800 and above have locked entrances aka Cedar Park Apartments across the street. So, what does this say about the management to you? They're generally friendly and have lots of girl-power. The two women who sit at the front desks (one has blue eye contacts which is a great signifier of one who succumbs to Westernized, Eurocentric beauty ideals and the other is overtly yet genuinely happy and smiling) are more than happy to help you when it comes to leasing, renewing leases, writing receipts for your monthly paid rent, etc. They recite what they memorized in the policy manuals but lacks the empathy when it comes to personal issues. For that, you go to the manager; she deals with personal issues. There's another woman with large owl eyes who peep out at the back but I don't really know what she does. I read a review about the manager on how she is a racist. Yikes, I think that it's too strong of a word. Obviously, the reviewer does not know what the meaning racism really is. I would say that the manager is ethnically biased. I mean, hey, if they are people who needs a place to stay and live comfortably, and they are my own ethnic, I would definitely help find a leeway for them. Or if there are problems they face, I won't immediately evict them; I'll give them another chance to live the "American dream." What is the American dream anyway. A bang for the buck? After the first year, rent increased 13.5%. After the second year, rent increased 15.3%. PSE is separate. Utilities are separate using a multiplier based on the number of occupants in the unit. Property management pays a portion for trash but the rest is paid by residents using a mutliplier based on the number of occupants in the unit. Consider the realities---the beauty and the ugliness---of the complex. Physical living area and the amenities you're really getting. The socio-culture of the management and the residents. In December 2009 my son was having respiratory challenges ,the apt we rented was very old,very cold and molding ,so we needed to move out real fast.Also we wanted to spend Christmas in a better place so we went looking within the neighbourhood .The apt that Maplew--had was the last one close to the cemetary which we did not like ,their next available apt wd not be ready till jan 2 2010 and so Martty ,one of the office girls wd communicate and let us know wen done and call us to see it and sign the papers.She said it was policy not to show dirty apt but once ready she wd call .we had no choice (so we thot but to wait for them coz they had already run our background check $76& wre holding on to our deposit check of $175.00 from the cemetary apt .)We were not happy to have to spend yet another freezing christmas in our old apt but ther seemed to be no choice but to wait till the 2nd of January ,after the holidays .All this happened on the 24th Dec .So later that day I check my voicemail and find out that Summerhill Apt -whom wed visited b4 was now offering us 2 bedrooms ,large dining and humongorous living room ,walk in closets for $700,water,sewer included and to top it all ,the apt they had shown us was ready to move in immediately .U should see these apt .old outside but beautifuly maintained ,inside and outside yet asking for way less than Maplewoods.Who cd miss such an offer On the 2nd Jan Stephanie called to tell that the apt was ready so I coud come and complete the forms -but I told her NO,we had already moved and were no longer intersted.To my suprise my bank statements reads that a cheque for $175 was posted to my bank acc on the 8th January2010.I called and tried to speak to Espiranza -the manager who bitched on the phone and listened to nothing I had to say.On 19th Jan I & my mom went to the office and spoke to Marty Like the English saying "One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel ,I must quickly point out that our bad and humiliating experience was because of the manager,her name,Espiranca.She treated us with downright disrespect and even though the other 2 ladies,(Stephanie and Marttyin the office gave clear explanations of what had transpired Esparanca twisted the whole story ,claiming that she had the last say in whatever happened in that office because she was the manager .The other 2 girls were toungue tied I asked Espinaza for the fone #of the apt owners but she refused and told me to come back for it another time coz she had no time for that .She ranted that the oners were not intersted in talking to anyone except her.When I told her that she was being disrespectful and that I would report this to her bosses she turned around and asked for my cell #saying she wd call me and give it to me over the phone coz she didnt have it right away.She didnt call .How the owners cd trust the office to someone with such an apalling customer services attitude leaves a lot to be desired. My roommate and I moved in here about seven months ago and we love it here! The staff is always friendly and accommodating and although we haven't really formally met any of our neighbors, everyone seems to be pretty nice. Parking is probably the best thing about it... we NEVER have an issue finding a spot close to our apartment and we both work late shifts. We only have two complaints... 1) sometimes it can be a bit noisy because we live right on a busy road, but that's inevitable, and 2) we do not have a washer/dryer in our unit which can be a tad inconvenient sometimes. However, I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends! read more
