One star due to complete lack of professionalism. I came here for massages because it was cheap…read more The ambiance is not good. As for the Haverhill (old) location, it smelled musty, the bed was hard and uncomfortable, and music was played on the massage therapists phone. Just kind of really unprofessional. you can hear loud bangs of whatever is going on in the rooms around you. I didn't care too much because i knew i was getting a deal on the massages for being on their "loyalty" card program. I started going less and less because i simply did not want to spend a lot of money here anymore.
Now, fast forward to COVID19. i know this unprecedented and horrible virus has caused a lot of havoc among businesses. Prior to the virus, i had prepaid for an appointment because there was a special going on. The appointment was scheduled for April, smack dab in the middle of the worst month our country saw as far as COVID-19 infections. I obviously knew at this point the business was mandated to close down, nor would i be comfortable to go in anyway. I knew that the Salon wasn't expecting me, but i NEVER got a call regarding my appointment or anything about covid-19 and how they were going to handle it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt bc i would never want to add undo stress onto a business during such a fragile and scary time.
Fast forward to May 13. Crissy, the massage therapist, sends her clients a text message stating that they will be relocating and that they don't know when they will be able to open again due to covid. Fair! but still, nothing regarding my appointment in particular.
May 18, i receive another text from Crissy, addressed to a mass of her clients. this was when governor baker announced that they still could not open.
As far as hair salons, i know they were permitted to open in MA as of early june. however, due to the physical closeness a massage endures, i believe that this CAN NOT be permitted. As a matter of fact, salon nikol as of october states that they are closed on their google business site.
September 1, i decide to reach out to Crissy about my appointment and how i prepaid for a massage yet never heard anything back about my appointment, refund or anything. I had left a voicemail a few months prior and got no response. No one picked up the phone. i kindly asked Crissy for a refund. As you should not expect clients to be forced to get a message during a PANDEMIC, and there was never any verbal communication that said prepaid massages were non refundable. This is where i get agitated with Crissy. her immediate response was defensive. she said my appointment was on march 7, which i know for a fact it was not scheduled for that date. (that was before any closures). she continued to try to tell ME what I experienced... she said they contacted me and rescheduled me and left me a voicemail. in what world Crissy? she even claimed that SHE PERSONALLY called me. like girl i didn't ever have your number and it's not even saved in my phone, the first time i ever received anything from her was when she sent a mass text to her clients in May. (see photo attached as to her defensive and unprofessional text message). she claimed she would let her boss know about the refund and let me know.
Also something extremely concerning that Crissy did, she insinuated that i COME INTO THE SALON AND RECEIVE A MASSAGE, Despite mandated LAWS that prohibited such a thing. Like that has to be illegal right? Next call will be to the public health department. I do not want a massage Crissy, i want my money back.
september 9, i ask for an update. Crissy, and i quote, "My boss is looking into it. When she finds the charge she will issue the refund"
October 5, i text Crissy for an update as i received no refund or any verbal update. she has the audacity to reply "Who's this?" I proceed to tell her my name and that i am still waiting for my refund. her immediate response was, she questioned the amount i am owed, and said her boss said nothing about it! well crissy i would like to speak to your alleged boss! so i calmly ask Crissy what her bosses contact info is. No response from Crissy at all. that brings me here to this review.
I have been extremely patient with this Salon since the start of the pandemic. I do not see why Crissy should pocket my money for free. I deserve a refund. Period. And i am MOST disappointed at how Crissy handled this entire situation. Lying, deflecting blame, getting defensive, being unprofessional..... For a place that doesn't have many good reviews, you'd think crissy would want to maintain a good relationship with her clients. all she would have to do is a refund me and maybe i would've considered going back when it was safe to do so. but no, she chose to lie, debate me, and disregard my concerns.
