They went above and beyond my expectations, to ensure that the event went smoothly! They are happy to help all customers and always greet you as soon as you walk into the door. Arts Alive is funded through 4Culture, which provides local access to the arts for smaller communities in King County. With that said, volunteers are greatly needed and it's very touching to see the rotation of different volunteers who work a certain amount of shifts, as if they were employees at the gallery. They help display the art, complete transactions, teach classes and discuss artwork and even get the opportunity to showcase their own! The gallery is split in two parts, with the front room being primarily the show room where art can be purchased. The back room, which is also has a back entrance is where art classes are taught, and has a small kitchen for such. I encourage anyone visiting Enumclaw or if already in the area to take a gander at Arts Alive, as you may find a piece of artwork to bring home (all mediums represented here) or even sign up for a class. This is an awesome and much-needed arts gallery in Enumclaw!

We would repackage grains, diapers, bagels, coffee, beans, etc. As well as sort cans and cereals into bins. It's a small place, but John seems to keep things running smoothly. They always seem to be overflowing with help and food around the holidays but slips from people's minds during the summer. It's disheartening to see the shelves get so bare. There are plenty of areas to volunteer, but parking is scarce. They offer a wide variety of foods to their patrons, sometimes including frozen meats and fresh produce. There is also a clothing bank run by Theresa in the other half of the building that we've donated to.

I have been taking one week off a year from work to spend time here, and my team (local tech giant) prefers to spend our limited holiday event budget attending a packing event, they will schedule in advance. We replaced the white elephant gift exchange with donating a wrapped gift for the kids. Yes, they do that too!! Don't take my (or the anonymous complainers) word for it, just go check them out online or in person. The work they are doing for our community is amazing. I would religiously once a month head to their Issaquah hub on their Saturday morning hours to donate gently used clothes that our little people had outgrown along with toys and other accoutrements. With my then late aged elementary school daughter we were able to volunteer together and it was a great way to bond and show her the impact she could have as were sorting clothes on a Saturday morning or grouping clothes and other items for children many at a similar age to she. Most recently as I've decided to take a break from the hectic world of finance, it has been a great organization to be able to go in for a one time volunteer opportunity during a weekday. It has been great to be surrounded by kind people working together to try to help.

Yes, it's known that what you buy for them, will become too small. When this happens, you may be in a bind, as to where to take your cool, yet ever too small clothing. The answer, donate to Eastside Baby Corner. This also holds true for other baby/toddler/kiddo things, like toys, playsets, baby food (new of course) and other youth related item. One thing to note, they don't actually give your stuff away to families... they work with local non-profits and hospitals to find those in need, the distribute through them. Think of them as the best donated baby stuff distributor ever, with a goal of helping the dis-advantaged. Just a note, they are located within a complex of storage spaces, so it may be off putting at first, but drive right in, the place is well labeled. For the Donation Giver: Washing your baby clothing; Bag everything up, find out when they are open, and stop on by. Try to keep it to kiddo clothing/kiddo things/kiddo stuff, they can't actually do anything with adult clothing, except give to another organization. For the Volunteer: They have plenty of opportunities, including sorting, cleaning clothing, packing, and even repairing old baby toys/seats/gadgets. They always welcome the help, and know you are directly helping to impact the community across the eastside of the Puget sound. I have volunteered here, and they are great! Look, you have old baby stuff, you just can't stand to throw away... instead donate it to Eastside baby.
