The selection was very interesting. The glass is all locally produced right there in their own hot shop. There were some very creative pieces. The most creative pieces were the most expensive, however there were plenty of pieces that were not too expensive. Robin the owner was fabulous and explained how my art piece was made. Since the hot shop is adjacent to the gallery, you can watch the artists make the glass art. It is very interesting and there are some beautiful pieces.

Went into Urban Sprouts the other day looking for a specific plant ( a ZZ Plant!) and had a great…read moretime exploring the store and admiring the fun ornaments, jewelry etc. The staff was super friendly and helped me quickly navigate to the ZZ plant of my dreams and helped me think through a pot for it, and cleaned it up so it was sparkly and ready to find its place in my house. They were super patient as I stumbled through picking out a pot and a set of ornaments (made by the staff!) and sent me off with a calendar of upcoming events and everything picked up nicely organized in a box. Felt like I hit the plant-based jackpot walk-in out of there, excited to go back.

The staff are incredibly dedicated and passionate about what they do. Treehouse offers many services to help foster kids have a more stable and normal life. From tutoring and college preparation, to school supplies and clothing, to after school care and summer activities, Treehouse improves the lives of thousands of foster kids and helps meets economic needs that foster parents sometimes cannot. Like most nonprofits, Treehouse can always use help. My (former) workplace ran a clothing drive and then a group of about 10 of us sorted and tagged clothes for the Wearhouse. It was a fulfilling and heartwarming day of service. I would not hesitate to recommend the services this organization provides or suggest it as a nonprofit worthy of your support. Economic development/community building organization that puts on great events…read more During non-pandemic times, Burien Pride is the super fun throw-back to what you wish Pride was. Not a bunch of corporate floats - instead actual people smiling at each other and wandering through local businesses and and sitting in the sun. During pandemic times - they're doing a pop up drive-in! They've put a lot of work into turning a parking lot into a drive-in movie space and making it so everyone has room to see and everyone is masked up outside of the drive-in. They're playing mostly feel-good classics - like A League of their Own - but we also saw the more recent Rocketman. Sound comes through the radio in your car. Concessions too - only downside is there's not fresh popcorn - but probably safest to not have that right now anyway. Inside bathroom just in case.

I think if you wait till later in the season you get more vendors and a variety of items. The location is great with lots of parking! During lunch they have live music!! All the vendors are nice and prices are great! One sad part is the time of the market Thursday 11-6 not the best time for most people.

We would repackage grains, diapers, bagels, coffee, beans, etc. As well as sort cans and cereals into bins. It's a small place, but John seems to keep things running smoothly. They always seem to be overflowing with help and food around the holidays but slips from people's minds during the summer. It's disheartening to see the shelves get so bare. There are plenty of areas to volunteer, but parking is scarce. They offer a wide variety of foods to their patrons, sometimes including frozen meats and fresh produce. There is also a clothing bank run by Theresa in the other half of the building that we've donated to.

My wife signed us up for a Salsa class over the summer at this community center. I had never been…read moreto the community center so I wasn't expecting much. The parking lot was huge and surrounded by tall trees. The shade is great on hot summer days. There is a big play area in the grove of trees behind the community center. You walk through an art-filled garden to get to the door of the community center. Upon entering, there is a bronze statue of books right in front of you. Pretty cool! Off to the left is a kids area where they have Tot Time and story time for kids (there is a small charge to attend). Off to the right is a desk with a receptionist. The dance class is in a large room with mirrors on one of the walls. Our instructor is a local gentleman in his 50's. Such a wonderful teacher. Only 4 couples signed up for the class, but we have a lot of fun despite small numbers. I am anxious to take more classes at the B.C.C.!

This was my third time here, and I packaged lentils, dairy and frozen potatoes. After a quick briefing and getting suited up, we are in the task. You get a rhythm going and get quicker. It's more fun when you bring friends, and the time goes fast. Makes me feel like I am giving back a bit.
