Strait-forward and honest communication throughout project from Derek and Nicole was great. I have a small home in an historic district that needed structural repair, new siding and trim, and other attention. Derek's willingness to approach the project in sections to help me determine affordability options was a great stress reliever. The quality of work, his team of professionals, and his willingness to help navigate the historic requirements and restrictions was amazing! They worked to schedule-as unpredictable Adirondack weather allowed, and kept in close contact to keep me updated. I had looked into using LaFountain Builds earlier, but when I saw the level of work they do, I was certain I could not afford them. Big mistake! You definitely get what you pay for! I wasted a great deal of money and time going with someone else first that wasn't able to do the work and made things worse. Can't recommend LaFountain Builds enough! My house looks new and historically accurate at the same time!

Derek and his team demonstrated why they are considered master carpenters in the North Country. Their attention to detail is second to none--whether it was the precision of the finish work or the way they handled the structural elements of the remodel. They took our vision and elevated it, maintaining a clean, professional job site throughout. Derek was often able to make recommendations on upgrades such as insulation and wiring that will save us money in the future. If you want a contractor who communicates clearly and delivers high-end, bespoke craftsmanship, look no further than LaFountain Builds. We couldn't be happier with our 'new' home

The chimney on our 27 year old home needed repair; it was occasionally leaking into the house and I…read morecould see with binoculars there was cracking and crumbling between the bricks at a minimum and likely leaky lead flashing as well. I called a few chimney contractors that people suggested, but I rarely got a call back and the two prices I received seemed terribly high to me. Then, having seen Brickliners trucks around town, I called Brickliners and all of a sudden things got easier and better! The ladies in the office were really polite and helpful and we made an appointment for Adam to come take a look. He climbed right up to the chimney, did a thorough examination, took photos, and explained all that needed to be done, along with a preliminary cost estimate. I then received the written estimate promptly by email and signed on the dotted line! I had the work done early in the season, receiving an early season discount. The fellows who came and did the job were very personable, knowledgeable, neat and efficient. The job was done in less than two days and the chimney looks great. I asked them how I could tell they did a great job (it's not like I can walk up to my chimney and check it out!) and they explained they take pictures to show Jake back at the office, so he knows every job is performed to the highest standards. Bottom line, friendly, professional, fairly priced (chimney work, by its very nature is expensive!), time efficient, solid warranty, all great!

We had a previous contractor leave a total mess of a drywall project (and another contractor who told us it was too much of a mess to touch), and Jeremy and Tim came in and immediately began to put the pieces back together. By the end of day one it was totally transformed for the better. So far I've found working with them to be a total pleasure, they're fair priced, professional, and just nice guys to chat with (and such patience for all my, "oh yeah can you do this, too...") . It's hard to believe that these are the same guys mentioned in the review below...after chatting with one of them about our garden, he offered us a flat of tomato starts and showed up with them the following morning, plus a couple of squash starts. Nice guys and really, really fantastic work. Highly recommend. A breath of fresh air, especially when compared to the circus side shows of contractors who have been through our home.
