This is a clean and large storage facility and probably your best bet for storing larger items and vehicles/boats if you live downtown. This place can get busy as a lot of companies use it, but has several loading bays as well as a few overflow parking spots. the loading bays are all inside, so you don't have to worry if it's raining and at least two spots have a ramp. Hours can be limited if you need to go into the office, but the place is pretty secure. You need a code to get into the loading bay area and to use the elevator. The elevator will only let you go to your own floor. There are washrooms and they will also recycle cardboard for you if you stack it nesr the garbage can on the main floor. As usual, they sell an assortment of moving supplies and locks. The staff are super nice and remember you if you use this place regularly. They also have donuts and cookies on certain days and in the morning. A special shout out to Sherry, who managed to convince elevator maintenance to fish out a key I dropped for me! read more

Okay, before coming here, I always thought of storage lockers as dismal, impersonal little sheds lacking any sense of personality, and never wanted anything to do with them. But then it turned out I would need to put all of my worldly possessions in a locker for what has turned out to be almost a year. I had a few friends recommend Maple Leaf on Commercial, and dropped by to ask about prices. Well - I never thought before that any person could be passionate about storage, but the staff here genuinely care about finding the optimal locker for whatever your needs might be, and put a great deal of thought and consideration into what would be best for my evolving needs. I quite enjoy chatting with them when I visit, and have found myself in conversations with other locker-tenants as well. It's a surprisingly pleasant place to be. Who'd have thought? Yes, it ain't cheap, and I've had one rent increase so far - but may I remind you that this is Vancouver we're trying to live in here, and it's just sadly proportionate to what a few square feet of climate-controlled, secure space costs to maintain and operate. I feel quite comfortable with my stuff being where it is until I finally have a place of my own to put it again. read more

Maple Leaf Storage's staff and facility at the West Vancouver location have been absolutely brilliant. I stored my items at the facility for over three years, and have never once had to be worried. When I decided to move my things out, the staff (Chris and Chad) were so helpful, kind and did everything they could to make it go as smoothly as possible. For example, I had lost my key and code, and they were able to furnish me with the information I needed, broke my lock, and provided me a new lock at a minimal cost quickly and efficiently. Therefore, I highly recommend the very clean and safe facility that has different sized units for different monthly rates, and a great staff! read more

The staff here are absolutely incredible. I've always been intimated by the idea of storage facilities, and the first time I went here with my moving company was a very stressful day. The front desk changed the whole tone of the day for the positive, and every time I needed some sort of service from them from that point on, they exceeded my expectations. More recently, when I couldn't get back to Vancouver because of the shelter in place, their people helped in a big way. In short, I didn't expect the warm and exemplary service that I received during every interaction with the staff there. Good service, the place is absolutely immaculate, secured effectively, an underground loading area, well priced (second month free when I was there) and it's in town which is nice. I didn't go with these guys so this isn't a review about services, it's about how desperate and annoying their business practices are in terms of communication. I emailed them requesting a quote, nothing more, nothing less. That was all I wanted. I was shopping around comparing prices, that was all. I received my quote by email which should have been good enough. Then they also called me and left a message saying the same thing. Fine, fair enough. However they continued to call me, not taking the hint that I was no longer interested, until I finally picked up at 9:40 am to tell them I was no longer interested. Instead of taking no for an answer they wanted to know where I had gone instead and why. I vaguely explained to them that I had gone with City Box Storage because it looked a bit cleaner. Maple Leaf persisted to tell me they cleaned their facilities daily. Great. I don't really care. Honestly I just picked them cause it looked nicer in general, no other reason. But I found this whole process so annoying with Maple Leaf that I'm giving them one star. Their service is probably great, I don't care, but a business that comes off this pushy and desperate looks unprofessional and I didn't appreciate the communication aspect. I contacted multiple companies all over the city asking for quotes and Maple Leaf Storage was the only one to continue calling me over and over after I had already received it. Nobody else was this annoying, they simply gave me a quote and left me alone. read more

I stored my precious belongings with Maple Leaf in Vancouver from August 2014 for six months and I was a nervous first time storage user. The team were outstandingly organized and I was very happy with the quality of the customer service, the security measures in place and the condition of the building (I stored at the end of Commercial Drive). Sherry, the store manager, was very kind to me when I got mixed up on my date to vacate the suite and ended up moving things out a day later after talking to her. Other operators would have stung you for another month but Sherry kindly allowed me a few hours grace and saved the day. I would highly recommend Maple Leaf to anybody. There are a lot of 'sharks' in the storage business with hidden costs. These are the good guys. read more

SCAM ALERT!!! You know those big giant signs that say "2nd month free" that they have outside their building...? Well, apparently the people that work there don't know these signs exist. I went in to look at the facility. They made me wait ten minutes as they answered the phone and were hesitant to show me. Finally, they showed me the units that have. Then, when I asked about the 2nd month free, she just said "we dont have anything like that." I said, "what about the big signs on your building?" She said "what signs?" And then said "oh, that's for a different size unit." I called back a week later to find out what size unit that special goes for. The guy on the phone said "we dont have any deal like that." I said, "it's advertised on a sign on your building." He said "we don't have any signs on our building saying you get the second month free. We're the one on Powell, maybe you have the wrong place." It went back and forth like this, him getting more and more adamant that there's no such sign on the building until I said, " I'm on a Google phone and it's even brought up a photo of your place and I can see the sign in the photo.". He responded by saying "Let me tell you something about the storage business," (condescendingly,) and then proceeded to put me on hold. Wow! Total scam. Totally false advertising. I bet there isn't a single person who has gotten the second month free. Completely up to the salesperson whether they even acknowledge the giant signs they have advertising the second month free. The staff are always very helpful, responding right away and most important they simplify the process of renting a storage locker , when you are in a very stressful situation like a move. I have had a spot in this facility since 2008. It's better and cheaper than raising children. I like that it isn't too cold or too hot in the storage in case I have to leave a guitar there for a bit....I will be there later today to say hi to everyone, grab a coffee and get to work organizing to optimize my use of space. I stored some personal belongings with Maple Leaf Storage for a short time and apparently I didn't properly secure the lock on my locker when I left. The Manager noticed that I'd left my locker unsecured, emailed me and put a new lock on for me right away. I was impressed with their service and very grateful for their customer service. read more
