Let me start by saying, we love, LOVE Dr. Miller, Linda, the hygienist and the rest of the staff. It's always a pleasure to go to the dentist. They're very kid friendly as well. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Miller for over 8 years. I had a horrible experience with my childhood dentist and always feared going to the dentist office. Luckily, over the years, my fear has subsided. Maple Leaf Dental is like a spa for teeth maintenance. As soon as I sit down in the chair, I tell Linda that I may take a nap. Money-hungry and impersonal. Try to push ridiculously priced extras every time, such as $25 fluoride toothpaste (no thanks, I'll just pick some up for $5 at CVS), and also started charging patients $10 EXTRA for PPE for every visit once covid began, so that they could make you gag with dental dams while simultaneously avoiding using any water picks and half-a**ing your cleaning. I just got home from my appointment at Maple Leaf Dental. I have been going here for my twice-yearly cleanings since 2007, and I'm a bit sad it took me this long to write a review. I *hate* going to the dentist, so it should say a lot that I keep going back, every six months, to Linda the hygienist and Dr. Miller. Everybody is so nice here and they seem to have a great rapport with each other. I really appreciate the new total-mouth-numbing solution...it's made my last two appointments a lot more comfortable (the feeling of the standard tooth-scraping things gives me the willies). When I visited, the facility was clean, inviting, and technologically advanced. I was having bad dental pain and called to set up an appointment with Maple Leaf Dental. I was given an appointment three months later. OK I thought - I'll tough it out, the reviews of this dentist are great. I also made an appointment for my husband at this time - I was given an appointment 5 months out for him! Two months later we realized our FSA was about to expire so we asked if we could move our appointment forward to an earlier date and asked to be on the waiting list for cancelations. I expressed frustration that the new patient appointment was delay was so incredibly long and that they had through a miscommunication canceled an earlier appointment for me and then reschedule me for yet another month out. I then - after waiting to visit the dentist for TWO MONTHS - got a call from them saying they were going to cancel my appointments and that I should find a new dentist. They went through a long explanation that tried to be polite but at its core blamed ME for asking for an earlier appointment and seemed to think it was perfectly OK to cancel an appointment with a new patient after asking them to wait for months on end. Now I have to find another dentist and who knows when I'll be seen - after I just sunk two months waiting for this dentist. My dental pain is terrible and I feel like such a fool for believing the good reviews here. Don't bother making an appointment with this dentist - they clearly don't care about their patients and don't care about customer service. If you make even a noise they'll boot you right out the door - which is the sign of a truly spiteful doctor. read more

Wow, this place is amazing. I'm the daughter of a dentist and just all around take very good care of my teeth, so for me to be so impressed with a dentist is a tall order. It all started with Johnna who proactively got my medical records and even followed up with phone calls when she didn't get a response in a few days (due to east coast storms, they were closed), and insurance info. I was able to fill out the paperwork ahead of time and scan/email them so you don't have to do it all when you arrive. Then there are the email confirmations and text message reminders. Really helpful. I thought it couldn't get much better until I saw the waiting room that is bright and colorful with cheerful furnishings, coffee/tea, wireless and what looked like a fun child play area. I seriously felt like I was in what I wished was my living room. The hygienist spent over 1 hour with me (they like to get really thorough for first exams and it was the most educational time I have ever spent in a dentist chair - I have very healthy teeth.) It was really all about getting the info needed to baseline you as a patient, as well as educating you on what they see All the comments Louisa made about the facility and technology are spot on, so I won't repeat them. I've never had individual teeth photos taken before (with a small wand - very unobtrusive), but I can see it being very useful and Dr. Miller even referred to them in her exam. If you had a small area where it was clear you were not getting in there to clean properly, they would show you the photo that showed the inflammation and then hand you a mirror and show you how to hold the toothbrush to reach that spot. LIke I said - all about the patient here. Then the time with Dr Miller - I've had times when the doctor comes in for a few minutes and just spot checks a few things the hygienist has recorded, but not so here - she went through everything thoroughly to make sure what she saw matched what the hygienist saw and what was recorded. They would even discuss if what they each wanted to record was different. What a great team where the employee and employer collaborate. I'm sure this is all due to Dr Miller contagiously friendly personality and professional demeanor. This place is really top notch. Although it is decades away and I've only had one cleaning, I'm already mourning the day Dr Miller retires. Kudos! read more

Ever since a dental procedure went south a few years ago, I have been terrified of the dentist, literally TERRIFIED. At that time I tried many dentists and never found a good fit. Then I found Dr. Miller. She and her team are gentile and understanding of your needs as well as of any potential fears you may have. I have come here now for about 3 years and they are kind, fit me in when I need to be fit in and they truly care about the patient. When I am scared in the chair, they are very empathetic without drawing too much attention to me. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Miller. After not visiting maple leaf dental in a few years, I recently referred my wife there on the basis of my previous positive experiences. While they were booked 2 months out, they managed to find a spot for her fairly quick. Coincidentally during the same week as my wife's appointment I developed an abscessed tooth and was in the middle of extreme discomfort. After an initial disconnect and some wrangling around they managed to get me in on short notice the same day as my wife. (What a relief). After a quick visit, Susan was quickly able to get me referred over to an Endodontist for a root canal (fun). Fast forward a week and I was back in Susan's office for a full visit and permanent filling. Susan and Jazmyne were both kind and caring throughout a not-so-fun procedure. I even got to watch a movie while they dug around! Susan's sincerity and thoughtfulness was evident from beginning to end. In fact, had i followed her advice and game plan back in 2010, I probably could have avoided the root canal all together... Lesson learned! I changed my insurance plan just so I could have Susan as my dentist, based on the enthusiastic recommendation of friends. She and her staff are fantastic! From the minute you walk in, there is a friendly vibe. The waiting room is welcoming and warm, with a great kids' corner, and they all clearly enjoy working together. Everything is spotlessly clean. The exam rooms are super-modern, clean, and comfortable. They all have flat screens with beautiful digital photos to look at while you're in the chair - they also show you x-rays and things on that same screen, it's all one integrated system. My first appointment lasted two hours, because they were doing such a thorough check-up to get good records on file. For example, they took individual digital photos of each of my teeth (ask if you can see them at the end - it's quite fascinating!) Susan herself knows her profession inside and out, is confident but also has a very genuinely friendly demeanor, like her staff. I couldn't be in better hands. read more

I went to Maple Leaf for the first time recently and had an excellent experience! Even though I was late, the front office staff were kind and accommodating. I was warmly welcomed back to the chair and I appreciate that the assistant that worked with me, Jazmyne, did not rush through the appointment, even though we were short on time (totally my fault), and was gentle and thorough. I saw Dr. Wasson who was also very gentle and thorough. She took the time to listen to me and address all of my needs. Even though my previous dentist wanted to do a filling on one of my teeth, Dr. Wasson confirmed my suspicion that it was not necessary. The staff once we got into the chair was amazing! they took their time explaining everything to a little girl who was not sure what to expect. Dr. Miller was referred by a friend whose daughter had 12 cavities - and still loved the dentist after the experience! I was looking for a dentist for my daughter, who is autistic and can be quite anxious. We had tried to get her teeth cleaned once before, somewhere else, and had to leave after just 10 minutes. I called Maple Leaf Dental and got an appointment in the not-too-distant-future, while on the phone, I explained our situation and the person I talked to was quite nice and asked great questions. She made sure to schedule some extra time onto the appointment. I then reiterated what I had said on our intake forms and dropped them off ahead of time. The day of our appointment arrived. We were a few minutes early, so we sat down to wait. Their lovely waiting room has an excellent kids' section! Lots of colorful toys and things to do. When Dr. Miller came out, it was great - she walked right by me and sat down on one of the kid chairs to talk to her patient! She talked to my daughter about the toys and school and asked her about herself. After putting my girl completely at ease, she turned and introduced herself to me. I couldn't have asked for a better way to have started that appointment. She then took my daughter into the exam area and she and the hygienist introduced my daughter to every single tool and let her handle them and try things like the water squirter and the suction tube. During her appointment she was given sunglasses and earphones and they worked hard to find a movie she wanted to watch. At the end, she got a prize for her bravery. The entire experience was great and my daughter is happy to go to the dentist now. We've been going for several years and their care has never been any less thoughtful than it was at that first visit. If I could give this place more stars I would! Suffice to say I'm a busy professional who usually does not write reviews but I think so highly of this place I felt obligated to. After searching for a dentist for YEARS I finally have found my new dental home. Dr. Miller and her staff are fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, highly skilled and the place doesn't feel like your usual dental office. It has a warmth that is rare these days. I had a difficult case of a cracked tooth and rather than just sticking a crown on it (that would have been expensive and taken away health sections of my tooth) Dr. Miller skillfully preserved parts of my tooth and worked to repair the crack. I also appreciate that unlike other dental offices I've been to recently, they don't try to sell me extra stuff (teeth whitening, etc.) though if I wanted to pursue these things I'm sure they would be knowledgeable -- BUT I don't feel like they are trying to profit off of me by selling things. AND they take my insurance! This is the whole package folks! read more
