We didn't bowl but we spent time in the arcade. On a Tuesday night it wasn't busy and there were plenty of games to play. You have to purchase a game card from a machine to play. They do not have money at the game itself. Multiple card denominations are sold and you can pay with cash or card. Some games are for entertainment only (shooting games, driving games and air hockey. Lots of games dispense "tickets" which are recorded on your card. Tickets can be redeemed for prizes. Price for the arcade was a bit steep. Some games are over $1 a play. And once the kids start choosing games where they are trying to win tickets the money goes fast! Overall playing at the arcade was fun. Something to do every once in awhile.

The Cedar Rapids Sports/Social Club hosts a lot of summer and winter events (including bowling). After calling to confirm they were open, we decided to return to May City Bowl. It is a big facility with plenty of lanes. There are a few modifications due to COVID and to allow for social distancing. They will put your group on a lane away from other groups. Unless you bring your own ball, you are required to use one of maybe 10 balls that are stationed at that lane. It limits finding a ball that fits your fingers well and the weight of ball you want to use, but is understandable under these conditions. It cost $22 for three games for 2 people including shoe rental. Not a bad entertainment value. We didn't have anything to eat or drink but I know they offer a decent selection from past visits. If your looking for some solid fun in a clean environment that doesn't look down on you if your not a professional, I would recommend May City Bowl.

I get to go for bigger company events and enjoy the bowling here. Its always loud. Gaming area if you get bored. Bar and food available. Not gunna lie. I really love their chicken strips.
