As our GPS was leading us down Queen st, I thought we were lost because it was tucked back off the street a bit. So pulling in and entering, I was not expecting to experience such a wonderful aroma from all the fresh baking of muffins, cookies, pies and etc. And the coffee was excellent and the atmosphere in the sitting area was very comfortable and warm. And the prices were very reasonable. The staff incredibly friendly and warm. We have visited here many times and our experience is the same as the first time we visited.

Coffee products are from Chance Coffee (who incidentally carry the Iron Kettles baked goods at their store in Ford City) Service is always quick and pleasant. Small seating area with a view of the bakery action. They have a variety of take away meals - heard they are amazing. When the weather is nice; nothing better than sitting outside on their patio! A must visit in Essex County!!!

My favorite was the peach cobbler, stuffing was just sweet enough. I was not particularly a fan of the spinach turnover, felt like it was missing some salt. Will definitely be back to try their other baked goods.

And then there is coffee and donuts ( the donuts fresh each day). There are a few more items, but you get the drift. Small, comfortable, a place to spend a little time chatting or reading the news of the day. A county park is being built across the road, so I suspect the foot traffic here will skyrocket in the next couple years. And I hope it does. This little business is a keeper and deserves success. Also, in case you just want to make a fast stop, there is a window where you can order and go.

And the meals came looking just like the pics. The owner and grill master prepared our meals and his wife was our waitress. The bbq sauce is made in house, We tried both the pork and beef rib. Portions were huge. Two hungry people could have shared one of the dinners. We saw the sandwiches. They were also full of meat and according to a fellow customer nearby, delicious, the meat is always tender, never dry.. we started with the nachos. Normally I don't like non traditional bar type nachos, but I ate at least half the order: it had pulled pork, cheese, bbq sauce, and yes, baked beans. . Never thought I'd like baked beans on a nachos, but it worked. each nachos chip was loaded. We did go back a second time the next day for lunch with a friend. She'd never been here before, but liked it and said her dad and brother would love it. She could only finish half beef rib meal. The sides were good, they are in the process of changing the menu a little. This is not a town that likes very spicy food, so you had to request heat. The Mexican corn needed a boost Mexican chilli powder, but it's catered to local tastes. It was good, I'd order again. Home made baked beans. Very good. We enjoyed the fries, but wish we had changed them out for something more exotic on the sides menu. Would we return, we did, ordered the same thing all over again and still enjoyed it. Wished the cook but as many baked beans on the nachos. Maybe request more because it is good. All I can say is, you gotta eat here, even if you are travelling along the 401. It's worth the detour up to Chatham for the restaurant.
