It was cooked as a true medium rare is in the United States - a thick stripe of red through the center. This piece of meat was the size of a baseball and tasted amazing. In my 61 years of life, I will say that this was in the top 2% of all steaks I've ever had. My wife, who likes the occasional steak, who, over the last 25 years I have coached down from hard medium well (ruined) steaks to medium-medium rare steaks ordered a 200g filet cooked medium well upon the servers advice. She described it as unbelievable and it was cooked to a perfect juicy pink. The salad that comes with the steak is offered with a yogurt or other type of dressing... I don't eat dressing so I chose neither and they brought out a vial of olive oil and another of balsamic vinegar in case I wanted something different. I didn't but my wife wished she could have had that. We ordered a baked potato to share... it was cooked just right. Each meal also came with two slices of garlic toast. The service was exceptional and the price was incredibly low. I had tap water to drink, my wife had sparkling water and a glass of wine - the tab was 78 Euros I believe. This photo is of my 300g steak. Magnificent experience.

I came to Emma's Steakhaus for a birthday dinner. It is nestled in a quaint part of Hanau near the…read moreSchloss Phillipsruhe. My first Impression of Emma's is a cozy feeling. The walls are painted a beautiful emerald green and the furniture is modern and chic. I also am a sucker for finer details such as the plates which were unique and interesting. The owner definitely took time to create a modern steakhouse experience. I especially loved their music. They had an awesome mix of 60s, 70s and 80s playing in the background. On to the service. We were greeted by a well dressed waiter who was very friendly, professional and took great care in serving us. I have to say it was the best service Ive had in Germany to date. We ordered a variety of steaks. The filet mignon, prime rib and beef medallions. Each plate came with a side of either potatoes with thyme or house cut fries. It also came with a Cesar salad or a spring salad. The sides were delicious, especially the fries. Well seasoned and crisp. The salads were good but I didn't feel like it was really a Cesar salad. Being such a nice steakhouse, they could step that salad up a bit with fresh Parmesan, homemade dressing and crotons. Throw some flavor on it. The steaks were perfect. We each ordered medium rare and they were cooked accordingly. The steaks were beautifully made and tasted heavenly. The presentation of the meat was also very nice. We were definitely impressed. Overall I love Emma's steakhouse. It's a wonderful addition to Hanau! I am excited to go back.
