I had a disappointing experience at Manyak Dental Group. The staff was very polite and professional, so I appreciate that. However, I feel I was not properly informed about the costs before the procedures were done. I went in mainly to get information about porcelain work for my teeth. Instead, they performed a comprehensive oral evaluation ($182) and full mouth X-rays/images ($255), totaling $437 for a first visit. No one clearly asked for my consent for these procedures or explained the pricing in advance. If I had known it would cost this much, I would not have agreed. Again, the team was kind, but transparency about pricing and getting clear patient approval before doing additional procedures is very important. This Group is all about money. I drove 50 minutes down to San Mateo for a teeth cleaning and I did not want to get X rays of my teeth. Dr. Manyak lectured me on how important it was and because I had insurance it shouldn't be an issue. She talked to me like a child. All she cares about is the money she makes through insurance. She refused to clean my teeth after I drove down for an appointment. She said she would not be charging me. Let's see if she holds her part of the bargain. read more

The care for their patients has only gotten better and I look forward to see my dental hygienist, Jackie, every time! Ive been with this dental group for 4 years and I never leave unsatisfied. The receptionists Roxy and Nicole have always been accommodating when it comes to expenses and finance. If youre on a budget or lack insurance, they will work with you. The specialists provide painless examinations and treatments using high end equipment to ensure I'm always comfortable. It's very challenging to find an excellent dentist. I've been to several over the years and nothing compares to Manyak Dental Group. I've always been religious about attending a dentist, but when I first walked into their door they thought I had not attended a dentist in years. My gums were swollen, I had a bunch of cavities, and a ton of plaque build up. I will always remember my first visit with Dr. Manyak. She was not happy with me. I felt like I was sitting on my bed and my mother was scolding me. I knew then I was in the right place. Over the course of the first year, they helped me reduce the swelling in my gums. They took care of all my cavities and plaque. I was able to have the conversation with them about veneers on my front teeth once my mouth was healthy. They wouldn't even consider it early on as their priority was my health not my looks. I am so happy with the results of my health and my veneers. Most people have on idea I have veneers which is what everyone wants. The administrative staff is great! They're very responsive and accommodating. They work with you on payment plans if needed and they're great about looking up what is covered with insurance. Look no further if you're looking for a dentist. Stop here. You found your life long dentist. I should also note, I travel all the way from Seattle 4 times a year just to attend their dentistry. (Visiting my parents is an added bonus - kidding!) read more

My experience today was absolutely fabulous! Dr Manyak used her new laser procedure to replace an old filling. It truly was so simple and not painful. NO novocaine and NO drill sounds. It was easy as getting your teeth cleaned. I have been going to Dr Manyak for many many many years she and her staff are so compassionate! TL;DR - Okay dental group that charges like an upscale spot and pushes extra, unnecessary procedures. For me, this was a subpar experience with this dental group. I was looking for a new dentist for my wife and I closer to where we live and decided to try out Manyak based on the glowing reviews. The set-up was pretty straightforward and was able to get scheduled quickly. The visit was for a basic cleaning. The cleaning was fine but some of the minor annoyances were - the visit took over 2 hours - I had to get x-ray twice (they lost my initial xray) - they pushed for a fluoride swab ($30) - They also pushed this Intereo scan which I don't think was really valuable. First major issue for me was the dentist working with me, Dr. Dui, said that I had multiple cavities/ issues that I need to address based on my x-ray. He highlighted a few areas that were high risk. He recommended drilling out the sides of my teeth to address these potential cavities. I have never had a cavity or an issue and on a gut feel decided to get 2nd and 3rd opinions. The other doctors said that I had no issues with my teeth. IMO, it felt like an attempt to do an unnecessary procedure designed so Manyak dental can charge you. I, unfortunately, cannot trust the recommendations of these dentists. Second major issue for me was pricing. My wife was convinced to do some extra preventative procedures (similar cavities/ fillings). These preventative procedures are supposed be 80% covered. Their billing department charged extraordinarily high rates that we had to pay about 65% of the entire cost (more than $500). In addition, we were charged $55 extra for our annual cleanings (including the $30 fluoride swab). Again, it felt like we were being charged extra premiums for coming to Manyak. While I'm sure that the sales pitch was not intentional, the dentists should be a lot more careful about suggesting procedures because excess procedures can be detrimental. In addition, I did not feel like Manyak had the best interest in mind for me or my family - it felt like they were trying to extract the most amount of money from us in the least amount of time. In summary, take their recommendations with a grain of salt and get second opinions and be prepared to pay for any work you get done with them. read more
