Dr Richie Chan Is the nicest guy you could meet... However, did not deliver on what I agreed to. Went in to get teeth pulled to have cantalever bridge on each side.. individually. We even used the model to describe what would be done. He's fantastic at pulling teeth,however, When I went to The lab for final visit to get the shade matched to my teeth... I'm presented with a full on removable partial Denture. I called him from the lab and told him what they showed me. He said, Yes that's what you're going to need. I didn't agree to this. I could not chew food or swallow with this Huge metal plate covering the roof of my mouth. This was not the first time during my visits to Dr. Chan that I found forthcoming communication to be poor. At 1 point during preparation, I wasn't aware drilling was needed. Dr Chan told me that I "didn't need to know everything." I guess that included the following visit where neither he or his office mentioned they had moved to a new location. A waste of my time, a waste of $5,000. He reached out to see if we could tweak what he had created...And I told him that I cannot eat or swallow with this metal plate covering the roof of my mouth so unless he could deliver what we agreed to, his creation was unacceptable. Didn't even offer to reimburse any part of the 5K I wasted with him. read more

I love Aloha Dental! The staff at Aloha Dental group are truly delightful. Every time I come in for my teeth cleaning, Kathy and Kathleen treat me with such care and we pick up our conversations from where we last left off. This gives me a sense of warmth and belonging that I didn't expect to have from a place I visit only twice a year! The whole place is always clean, neat and in perfect shape. My husband found Aloha dental first. He had a great experience with his dental cleaning and convinced me to switch. Switching dentists?! So much work, I said. On the other hand, my husband had some strange dental issues, and if he was happy with a dentist, that was really something! I went today and was glad I did! The office is easily accessible from 101, parking is easy. The staff is very friendly. There is a fridge for drinks! The equipment is up to date. My hygienist, Susan, is thorough and gentle. I knew going to this appointment I was going to have some bad news about one of my teeth. I was super apprehensive about my visit and dreading the appointment altogether. So imagine my surprise when I was told I needed my first root canal and I still left with a big smile. I've had a small chip on the front of my tooth for a while now. My last dentist didn't take initiative to fix it in fact I felt like it was out of reach. I didn't know what the next step was. During my visit with Dr. Codington I mentioned that I wanted to fix it. He said no problem, do you want to do it now? YES! So even after getting crappy news about needing a root canal, I left thrilled. I was super anxious and really needed a soft, stress free service with a gentle Dr. I just had the root canal yesterday at the office of Gregory K. An, D.D.S., M.P.H. It was a fantastic experience. He not only provided me with excellent dental care but his office was able to refer me to a great Endontics office and get me in right away. I want to take a moment to thank the team at Aloha Dental. Not only did I receive excellent care while I was there, the follow up by Dr. Codington has been outstanding. I had some pain in my jaw and they were able to see me the same afternoon. They actually stayed later on the eve of a 5 day break for 4th of July just to see me. As it turned out, I needed a root canal. Dr. Codington did an excellent job prepping for the procedure that he saved me a second visit. He followed up with a local endodontist to see if they can squeeze me in the next day. I ended up putting it off a week because I was in the process of moving out of the area and decided it made more sense to find someone in the area I was moving to. After visiting Terry Codington DDS at his new location (Aloha Dental Group 424 No. San Mateo Dr. San Mateo 650-772-5642) I wanted to share the news of my FANTASTIC dental visit. Not only does the office have state of the art equipment it also has a very welcoming Aloha spirit which is great for those of us who find going to the dentist a bit un-nerving. It was the best cleaning I had ever thanks to Susan and her wonderful touch. During my examination Dr. Codington asked if I snored or had been told that I snored. After a few more questions it was determined that I should due a sleep study. My first thought was - " No Way" - I didn't want to go to a strange place and try to sleep with all kinds of things attached to me. Dr. Codington informed me that the Aloha Dental Group now offers its patients "at home" testing kits. His assistant explained how to work the machine and it seemed very simple. And simple it was. I wore the appliance 1 evening and brought it back to the office the next morning. Kathy said she would try and get my test analyzed ASAP. Thankfully she did. It showed that I was a major sleep apnea patient and I needed to get treated right away. I was scanned for a mouth appliance immediately (because I didn't want to use a CPAP machine) and 1 week later it was delivered. It is now about 6 months later and I have never felt so rested - I no longer wake up with headaches, I look forward to going to the gym to work off some of my extra energy, I have lost weight and best of all, my wife is so happy with all the great changes that it has made. We moved to this area recently and needed a dentist. My wife found this gem and we couldn't be happier. While waiting for my wife to get her procedure done, they offered refreshments, coffee and tea. Also, I have noticed that they treat their patients like family and seem to know a lot about their patients. Their hospitality was amazing and so are their services. I was getting headaches and toothaches for a while now, so i decided to check out aloha dental and got checked by dr codington. He said it was due to teeth grinding. He had ordered me get invaslign to straighten out my teeth and help with the grinding. It worked! My first experience here was top notch! I was seated right away and the assistant Kathleen took my digital x-rays and did my digital impression scan for invisalign. Dr Codington did an amazing job on explaining every questions I had. I was starting to have some other problems, and found out that by straightening my teeth I could clean them more easily and prevent future problems down the road.
