It is really hard to rate an ambulance service like this because one crew does not make up a whole company so I am basing my rating on this particular crew that transported me. I really was not going to review them but I decided to go ahead. Even though it makes me mad to think of it. This was about a month ago. Let me put it this way if I ever find myself in need of an ambulance service again and this crew shows up to transport me I will ask them to leave and ask for someone else. I do not remember their names unfortunately but I am working on getting those so I can make a formal complaint. I have had some bad luck with abdominal pain and my husband called an ambulance cause I could barely move without throwing up. I have encountered this ambulance company twice and that was once for me and another time called them for my mom and got this same crew. They are both female and the paramedic in particular has a major attitude. And on top of that she makes me feel very judged like she questions the legitimacy of my situation. As someone who works in the exact same field as an EMT I can tell you that is not only inappropriate but unacceptable. Every patient should be treated with the utmost courtesy, respect and professionalism and she does none of that. I run calls on people from all walks of life with a wide range of complaints some more serious than others and my philosophy is always the same. I treat all my patients how I would want myself or my loved ones to be treated. I judge no one. If you are judgmental this is not the right job for you and you should be fired. I deal with people who are not in emergencies and people who are. I deal with people who's lifestyle largely contributes to their illness, people with bad luck, and people who just have unfortunate genetics. At the end of the day the result for me is still the same; being a caring, compassionate, non judgmental provider. That is how it should be. Not every call is going to be a heart attack or a big trauma accident. Not every call warrants CPR. That's only on TV. Anyone who feels that way is totally ignorant. In fact a majority of calls we run are not life threatening emergencies. Bottom line, no matter what the complaint is everyone deserves equal respect. Patients are the job. She talked down to me when asking me questions. When they came they both (especially the paramedic) made snide comments about remembering me and it made me feel uncomfortable. I was nauseous and I was given nothing for it which is not acceptable. I remember the first time I met them it was when I had to call 911 for my mom and they had the same snide little attitude then to. I am beginning to think if you call for an ambulance in Manteca they are who you will get stuck with no matter what and that really bothers me because they are so unkind. The paramedic has the attitude like she would rather be anywhere else but where she is at and that she is above your complaint. She took me to San Joaquin General and I am really thinking she told the doctor I was faking because they way I was treated there definitely seems fishy to me. It turned out to be my appendix which is considered a medical emergency and can be fatal if not treated quickly FYI to certain judgmental people who know nothing. At the hospital (San Joaquin General) they claimed they saw nothing on my CT scan and a couple of nights later my husband took me to Doctors Hospital and low and behold they see an inflamed appendix when they did their imaging and ordered immediate surgery. I think I got treated the way I did at the San Joaquin General because that paramedic told the doctor something. I know doctors can be influenced that way. Emergencies come in all forms and not all of them involve heart attacks, trauma, or strokes. Severe pain is one of the main reasons people call 911 and it is a legitimate reason. But certain ignorance suggests otherwise because they know everything about everyone. Pretty sad if you ask me. I had to get it removed so it was an ordeal. That further frustrates me that they treated it more like a stomach ache and completely ignored all the obvious symptoms which were all being displayed. I am glad that some people had good experiences with them and that it seems to be hit or miss. In summation by the end of both experiences with this crew I felt uncared for and judged. I don't like to use ambulance services if I can help it but I will say this for sure if I am in the situation where I do and these two show up I will make them leave and request another unit. I will also be making a formal complaint to Manteca Ambulance about this two because the way they acted was unprofessional and NOBODY deserves that. Self inflicted illness or not. This is a business where people are vulnerable and compassion and treatment is needed. read more

After reading some of these reviews, I am disgusted. I am disgusted at the fact that someone who claims to have "stomach issues" and has rated every fast food chain in manteca would complain about their service. How about you take it upon yourself to stop eating fast food and maybe take the time to review "subway", 24 hr fitness, or inshape health clubs. Furthermore, the individual who called 911 for a boil on their relatives ass. enough said on that.... My mother had a heart attack and collapsed in front of our family one night. The fire department showed up first since they were right around the corner, and started cpr immediately. I don't remember the name of the paramedic, but he had dark hair, was kind of short in height, and a goatee. He walked in very calm, and immediately began his work. while trying to ask questions, putting tubes in my mothers throat and iv's in her neck, giving medicine through the iv, and all sorts of other stuff, he would give me a reassuring smile. Was the paramedic professional? yes. I called 911 because my mother was dying, not for stomach pain from eating too much fast food and not for a boil on my ass. MY children will have their grandmother for another holiday because of THEIR actions. Thank you guys! read more

I wouldn't even give these guys a 1 star, this has got to be one of the worst ambulance companies out there, VERY unprofessional and if you call to complain they don't seem to take it seriously. Had to call them because my elderly father fell and broke his hip, they get there, the fire dept gets there, and the ambulance driver well there were 2, the one drags him across the floor w/the leg that the hip was broken to get him to lay flat so they could get him on the gurney. I asked don't you think that's not such a great idea if his hip is broke, the guy simply gave me a dirty look. I ask because my father goes the VA in Palo Alto if theres any way we can arrange to pay for their service to take him out there instead of a local hosp, they said OH no way. They wouldn't even tell me which hosp they were taking him to? The fire dept guys were VERY professional and kind. They told me where they were taking him. So he gets to hosp and they get a hold of the VA and get word to transfer him out. Guess who picks him up? YES the same terrible company! SAME 2 guys that were nothing but rude, unprofessional guys, these 2 should be fired. When needing an ambulance most people are under a lot of stress and worry, normal companies would try and soothe your worry. NOT a chance from this circus of clowns!!!! read more

Absolute professionals who show both compassion and intelligence, with this crew. I have personally observed the extra care which is taken in making their patients and families comfortable, as mine was one them. I would hate for one person's opinion to affect this company or the crew in question. read more
