We stayed at the Drummondville Quality Suites and were very pleasantly surprised at…read morethe...well...quality of our stay! The front desk was fast, friendly and efficient, and the room was large and well appointed. The mini- kitchen station was nice though we didn't use it, but the TV stood out because it was a current model, and a great size. The bed was firm, and there was a decent selection of different pillow types. The bed was pretty funky, as it had a built-in system to gently vibrate, and provide soothing background sounds like waves. The bathroom was large, with a modern whirlpool tub with about 30 jets! A hot breakfast was included in our price. We've stayed in "luxury" hotels that did not provide this level of comfort and pizzazz for 3 times the price, so we were very happy with our experience, and actually hope for an opportunity to return!

Well, if you need to spend the night in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada, there are not a lot of…read morerecognizable choices. Except Choice Hotels. Choice Hotels is a conglomeration of lower priced hotel chains somewhere between Days Inn/Best Western, and the lower name brands of the majors chains from Hilton, Starwood or Marriott. Choice Hotels would include Clarion, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, and Mainstay Suites. They do have a frequent guest program, called Choice Privileges. Is Choice the chain with the Johnny Cash singing commercial with "I've been everywhere, man!"?? I could do my own rendition of that song. However, I haven't stayed at that many "Choice" Hotels! Quality Suites Drummondville is new, less than 5 years old, and the rooms are in pretty new condition, with acceptable furnishings, adequate lighting and outlets, a double queen suite with 2 lounge chairs, a desk, a Fridge, Microwave, and wet bar. Only 1 TV, however, and 1 closet by the door. There is a glass wall and door between the two beds. Not good for 2 business people, but maybe good for a family. The good thing is that breakfast and WiFi are complimentary with your room rate. The bad thing is with a rate of about $100 CAD, which is a corporate rate, it isn't cheap for being in the boonies; the breakfast is contiental and with only canned fruit, and the walls are a little thin. This is a 100% non-smoking hotel of 4 stories, and it reminds me a lot like a Homewood Suites or a smaller Hampton Inn from Hilton. They even use the same shower curtain with the peek-a-boo gauze panel. Aside from its parochial green/gold/olive/beige decor, the building itself has a facade to make it look like a traditional French Country Manor ,with faux blue tiled, trapazoidal roof and decorative window shutters. In reality, this is no French Manor, au contraire mon frere! No French maids here with little feather dusters in skimpy black outfits, mais non! Just simply a business travellers rest stop. Service is congenial.

As of today, as I write this review, average price of local ARBNBs 1 bedroom apartements are…read morebetween 150-250/night during the week, off season, and other hotel rooms between 160-220. Mid April (off season) I would have loved to be more generous as the staff is so nice, and my mom, who has worked for the gvt for years, have sworn by these hotels for years. Unfortunately, yes this hotel is getting old. Old rooms partly renovated. Well chosen colours to adapt to today's styles. But you can see the "partly renovated" efforts through details: patching between toilet tiles, stains on old rugs, old wood furniture from the 90s, paint peeling off in the bathroom. The look, I could have passed by personally, but I chose an hotel room cause I told myself, this will be quieter from sure and there is service. Like I said, staff amazing. On day 1, my card did not work after remagnezing it, but the manager came himself as his handyman had already left. It took him 15 minutes to change te batteries(complicated system) of door knob and all was fine afterward. Had to get a new card the day after, as it got again unmagnetized. But unfortunately it is not well isolated sound wise. Could hear slightly my neighbours tv and hear him coughing. I thought, a new couple on their honeymoon, we hear them for sure. It has also one of these communicating double doors between rooms. Though this is practical for events -Like I said my mom used to work for the gvt and sometimes they'd use adjacent bedrooms to have a 5-7 room for their guests (one room to prep food and drink and one for the party) - kind of weird feeling when I first saw it, as we're not used to it anymore. It is absolutely well situated though. Right between old Trois-Rivieres and downtown. Loved it. Did everything by foot. The heating: one of those old wheel ones...when after the click it gets too hot, and below it, you freeze. The scent: I actually loved it as it was a memory of my youth, joining my mom in such hotels. Like a powdery - clean odour. The lighting is horrible. Nothing on the ceiling and at night, aside for the entrance and bathroom, the room is softly lit. I love this option for when needed, but not practical when you look into your thing's. They could have opted fir at least a 3 level lamp in that table corner. Also above the bed, they are neons...so noisy it was aggravating ! The beds are clean from what we can tell. and slept well. The parking is included and enough space. No breakfast but this is mentioned. I was by myself and had 2 queens bedroom. They don't seem to have one bed rooms. Which they should rethink and give more space. If we would have been two or more...we would have lacked wardrobe and counter space. In general, great cheap option if you are looking to save some bucks. Personally I'd would have paid the 40$ extra to get an apt in a rental website for the space and feeling more at home option. But this is perfect for people who want to save, youngsters or anyone who is also in and out of the city or looking just for a room to sleep at night and explore this cute city. Voilà et bon séjour!

Every New Years Day, my whole family and I come here for their special holiday buffet…read more They have event rooms and they are huge, they have a live musician and an entertainer for the kids (usually a clown or a magician). They also have a normal restaurant near the lobby that serves a la carte for the holidays. The food is always pretty standard but they do have some options you don't expect like sushi sometimes. The belle of the ball is the chocolate fountain though *heart eye emoji* Staff is nice and quick to clean up your plates, the hotel is always clean and welcoming, and the parking (I believe) is free.
