This also means you can get CAA dollars from fill up. For truckers, there's about 75-100 parking spots (overnight) and a CAT Scale here, and IIRC there's a couple of showers.

A cruller and a coffee, or a half-chicken with fries, it's your call. If you need supplies for the road or for the chalet, they have a full range of standard beers, wines and snack foods. Flats of water and bags of firewood are also available so if you're off to the campground you're all set. The bathrooms are very clean and the staff are always professional and friendly. The Missus really appreciates this pit stop and when the Missus is happy, I'm ecstatic! (As long as she doesn't make crumbs in the car, that is.) Code this one into your GPS for sure!

This pit stop of our tour to/fro Quebec City via Grayline almost diminished the value of what was a pleasant ride and visit to the Quebec City. Using the familiar Shell Logo to find off ramps off the busy freeways is a definite good and familiar way to refuel. This is a nice stop and we would have liked to explore the area more, but perhaps next time. The price per liter was competitive at all the Shell stations. I liked that we could clean up the windshield and use the washrooms. Thanks to Shell stations for making some of our rest stops easy.

The front desk was fast, friendly and efficient, and the room was large and well appointed. The mini- kitchen station was nice though we didn't use it, but the TV stood out because it was a current model, and a great size. The bed was firm, and there was a decent selection of different pillow types. The bed was pretty funky, as it had a built-in system to gently vibrate, and provide soothing background sounds like waves. The bathroom was large, with a modern whirlpool tub with about 30 jets! A hot breakfast was included in our price. We've stayed in "luxury" hotels that did not provide this level of comfort and pizzazz for 3 times the price, so we were very happy with our experience, and actually hope for an opportunity to return!

Choice Hotels is a conglomeration of lower priced hotel chains somewhere between Days Inn/Best Western, and the lower name brands of the majors chains from Hilton, Starwood or Marriott. Choice Hotels would include Clarion, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, and Mainstay Suites. They do have a frequent guest program, called Choice Privileges. Is Choice the chain with the Johnny Cash singing commercial with "I've been everywhere, man!"?? I could do my own rendition of that song. However, I haven't stayed at that many "Choice" Hotels! Quality Suites Drummondville is new, less than 5 years old, and the rooms are in pretty new condition, with acceptable furnishings, adequate lighting and outlets, a double queen suite with 2 lounge chairs, a desk, a Fridge, Microwave, and wet bar. Only 1 TV, however, and 1 closet by the door. There is a glass wall and door between the two beds. Not good for 2 business people, but maybe good for a family. The good thing is that breakfast and WiFi are complimentary with your room rate. The bad thing is with a rate of about $100 CAD, which is a corporate rate, it isn't cheap for being in the boonies; the breakfast is contiental and with only canned fruit, and the walls are a little thin. This is a 100% non-smoking hotel of 4 stories, and it reminds me a lot like a Homewood Suites or a smaller Hampton Inn from Hilton. They even use the same shower curtain with the peek-a-boo gauze panel. Aside from its parochial green/gold/olive/beige decor, the building itself has a facade to make it look like a traditional French Country Manor ,with faux blue tiled, trapazoidal roof and decorative window shutters. In reality, this is no French Manor, au contraire mon frere! No French maids here with little feather dusters in skimpy black outfits, mais non! Just simply a business travellers rest stop. Service is congenial.

The gas station has loads of souvenirs and knock knacks that you could spend quite a bit of time digging your way through. The restaurant has a bunch of food options such as A&W burgers, Thai Express, La cremerie ice cream and Van Houtte coffee. I've eaten at the Thai Express before and it's palatable. Drop on for a quick snack, gas fill up and fluid break it's a good option heading to QC or back to MTL.

This is how they refer to their hot dogs. They chose the stop, so this is where we ended up. They have outdoor seating in the form of 2 tables just outside the shop, which was greatly appreciated especially during the pandemic! I have not been inclined to eat inside a restaurant since March; and it is now December! This is saying something. My heart really goes out to the service industry, who has had to be very creative to draw customers and stay in business during this unprecedented time! I absolutely LOVE hot dogs! But not this way. They offered a special with 2 dogs in pasty-white bread, with tons of fries; I seem to recall this was about $8.00. The toppings were good, and so were the fries.... H'mmm Maybe good enough to bump this up to a 3-stars?! But their claim to fame is the hot dogs, so no can do. A better choice of bread would help. Jacky was great. Such a perfect person for this job…read more However, Vic the bus driver was a total ass! Yelling at people who didn't know the upper cabinets are spring loaded. He also wouldn't allow cups on the bus, or eating. And forget about using the restroom on the bus. That's only for emergencies. He didn't even wear his seatbelt. It was buckled underneath him. The children on our tour were a total nightmare. Their parents slept while the kids pulled the hair of the people in front of them. They were totally loud, even with earplugs in. Adult only tour would be worth the extra money. We decided to not do the buffets. The first stop had a Harvey's ( fast food) way cheaper. On the second day we walked across the street to Costco and had lunch for two people less than $10. Niagara Falls was wonderful. Beautiful. CN tour was amazing!
