This is a small YMCA, but is overall pretty clean and i well located with plenty of parking. Kathy…read morethe instructor was wonderful and a great knowledge resource. All that said, there is no pool or water exercise capability there; you have to pay a separate fee to the City of Lompoc to access the aquatic center, which is literally right behind the Y, and it is expensive with limited adult access in the exercise pool because it is primarily geared towards children and families. Additionally, the Y itself is at least 95% geared towards children and families, with adults and seniors treated to crumbs and as an afterthought. Not very welcoming at all if you aren't a family with young children. Lastly, the hours are not great for those on non-traditional schedules, and the membership fee is quite expensive. Sad, because my entire family has been a Y family since my brother and I were kids, and there was always plenty of access to things and activities, classes, functions AND a pool at other YMCAs. Just not this one. Again, great for families and little kids and people looking for what amounts to a daycare center and kids camp. Not so great for everybody else.

Absolutely unacceptable experience at the Petco in Lompoc, CA…read more I was in the store with my family, including my 7-year-old daughter, to purchase a teddy bear hamster and a temporary cage. While an employee was retrieving the hamster, the General Manager approached us aggressively, raised his voice, and began scolding us about the cage, claiming a previous hamster had gotten ringworm from it. I tried to calmly explain that the cage was temporary and that we had done our research, but he would not let me speak, repeatedly talked over me, and belittled me in front of my child. His behavior was hostile, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. He then told us that if the hamster got sick, we should "not come back" because he would refuse to replace it, which felt threatening rather than helpful. Most alarming, his speech appeared slurred, and there was a strong smell of alcohol. Regardless of the cause, his conduct was inappropriate and concerning, especially from someone in a management role. What should have been a happy experience for our daughter was completely ruined. No customer -- especially a family with a child -- should be treated this way. Corporate should seriously look into the management at this location.

They are loud , argumentative and contrarian to whatever you say asking a ton of questions of which you will never get it right unless you have a pound . Just ask if we've had that fish before or if you have questions about care . those fish are there for only god know how long in those overcrowded tanks. Not even want to say on the betas. The first associate was nice and straight to the point and having people skills (prob new employee). While he was starting to retrieve the 3 fish I asked for, his manager (of someone who feels like it) asked him very rudely to stay away that he would take of the rest. But once he took over he asked me a ton of questions making us feel harassed then saying I could not take the fish I want . In front of my kid and wife making it a terrible experience for me and my entire family.

It is horribly difficult to achieve any health care immediate, primary, or specialist services. We arrived around 440 pm at the ocean office and since it appeared to be a ghost town, my boyfriend gave up immediately and walked right back out the doors, discouraged and in immense pain but I wasn't convinced that there was NOT one personnel working that would send us to some sort of after hours URGENT CARE and I'd assume that since it's a brand new fancy office they would have those accommodations, they don't. I proceeded to the primary care office and was not impressed. They got the referral from hospital and then claimed as I was there with him in the office also at this point, That they had no clue what he was referring to even tho LOMPOC HOSPITAL gave them the heads up two days prior for mandatory urgent correction surgery which apparently they don't consider a broken arm any kind of emergency and proceeded to tell me that I would have to go literally across town freezing and him being injured and in the dark on foot to to dignity health and even then it's just a temporary fix . I have had medical CenCal but I have PMO @ Lompoc healthcare north h st center which includes any and all primary care along with urgent care open until 9 pm it's awesome don't ever want to walk into that place again. Bad crappy horrible

I must preface this comment of mine by stating that this is my own personal opinion - no more, no…read moreless - and that I am speaking here only for myself in this respect. Having said that, I can now say that I have been seeing Dr. Hugo Gonzalez as my Primary Care Physician for about a month now, and for a total of three appointments so far. During my first appointment, I began to realize that if I am courteously forthright with my questions and concerns [and even statements of opinion] regarding my medical condition and options for treatment thereof with the Doctor, he then may be more inclined to be forthright and honest about what exactly his job is and why he is doing what he is doing, in prescribing these medicative methods of treatment for me. And this is exactly what happened: in effectively so delineating the finer points of the legal obligations of his committed work, he actually told me my legal rights as patient, based upon his legal obligations as a faithfully educated and committed Medical Doctor to diagnose any malady I may have as such, and to prescribe the medicine he felt it necessary for me to receive and to take under his medical prescription and supervision. He then mentioned that the patient then has the right, under his legally-guarded right to informed consent, to elect to vote for either taking the prescribed medication, or not. Once the parameters of this legally-protective physician-patient relationship had thus been duly vocally established by Dr. Gonzalez in my mind, I then was able to see that the Doctor actually was there to serve to honor the legally-protected choice I had to both respect his medical credentials which served to inform his operative commission as a Medical Doctor so under sworn Hippocratic Oath to thoroughly provide the most proper medical care he could to his patient, whilst at the same time vocally expressing his knowledge that the patient does in fact have a legally-protected right to take or not the medication thus so prescribed to him. Once I understood that aspect of the physician-patient relationship as expressed to me by Dr. Gonzalez, I then felt more comfortable in simply letting him do his job with all due respect to his Official Doctoral Licensure as such, and understanding as well that if I am courteous to Dr. Gonzalez, even as a result of my gratitude for his forthright honesty towards his patient in that regard, then the physician-patient relationship tends - almost inexplicably, it may seem - to move forward at a more convivial pace; this, of course, applies to the relationship between the patient and the clinic staff serving under Dr. Gonzalez's supervision. Once I realized all this, I felt more at ease with the Doctor in his office at every appointment since the first one about a month ago. So, if I were to rate Dr. Gonzalez for simply doing his job well and without therefore my misunderstanding anymore why and/or how he is doing so, then I would give him a 9.5 out of 10. Of course, in a 5-star system of ratings, that would round up to 5 stars. If I'm happening to get any takeaway from my own comment as I'm finishing writing it, then it simply would be this: Don't be afraid to ask any question of the Doctor about the diagnosis of illness of and/or the prescribed medicative treatment he may have for you as the patient; he is simply doing his job, as such; Knowledgeable courtesy in this regard on the part of anyone as the patient toward the physician and/or clinic staff thus may go a long way in serving to maintain any newly-established parameters of mutual understanding and respect in that regard; and A good sense of humor on the part of the patient towards the entire medical-care-centered situation at hand is not necessarily a bad thing at all, especially in this day and age. And, If you've made it to the end of this comment intact; then you probably still remember what it was like, back in the day, when we all generally used to read books: And there's nothing wrong with that at all, In My Humble Opinion; For What It's Worth. I filed a formal complaint with the corporate office for false advertising. For a store in a small town, dependent on local spending, it's unwise to engage in this behavior. Not honoring prices due to a store mistake, loses customers. I won't spend another dime at BIG 5 in Lompoc and wouldn't be surprised to see this store close and jobs lost since they rather false advertise. I'll buy sporting goods from Dicks or Amazon, anywhere but BIG 5 in Lompoc.

I received pictures and video throughout her stay, constant communication about her progress, playtime, and pictures from her camping trip. When Jinger came home a week later she went from being a puppy we had to watch like hawks to a member of the family. In one week Tayler transformed Jinger into a potty trained and well behaved young lady was not only potty trained but also learned some commands. Tayler is amazing in her craft and our family is thankful!
