Don't usually expect top-notch sales in such franchise stores in the appliance business, but this story has a gem: Monte Newman. We bought 2 grand of appliances for a new apartment and they held it for months. Eventually the deat fell through and we had to ask for a refund with hat in hand. Monte said probably OK, but went to bat for us, and went up the chain til he said the 'check was in the mail'. Very classy business. Recommend it and him highly read more

I am a new customer to Manny's and I confess, I was a bit nervous about them after reading some of the negative reviews. However, I had such a positive experience I had to share. First, I am elderly and disabled. I never even made it to the store in Hadley. I researched online and bought a 5 cubic foot freezer (Avanti). Manny's had the best price and to my shock, other places wanted up to $85 for delivery (you have got to be kidding!) Manny's charged $35.00 and I did everything by telephone, the salesman "George" was helpful, prompt and professional. I got my freezer in two days without ever leaving my recliner. I am so happy with my purchase and the professionalism of this store I WILL return and I will tell my friends about my positive experience. read more

Made a purchase from Manny's some years ago. Was given a delivery date and took a day out of work. Stayed home all day waiting for delivery which never arrived. Spoke with Manny directly-it was like talking to a wall although a wall may have had more sympathy. Since then have never gone back to Manny's and wouldn't buy a toaster from them. read more

This place deserve zero stars!!!!! Besides the fact that I bought a stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, two years ago and have had all of them break. Having to wait at least a month each time (4) for the appliance to be completely repaired. I was stupid enough to go into the store in Wilbraham yesterday to purchase a smaller appliance and the two extremely rude gentlemen sitting at the desk were absolutely rotten. They did not want to assist me or be bothered. I do not know their names but one of them is on the commercials. I was in absolute shock at their rudeness. Customer service was the worst!! Mannys advertises as being a hometown local store because they "live here". Well, they should move. I must say I am happy that there are plenty of other appliance stores in the area. And will never go to the store again and encourage others not to shop there. read more

Terrible customer service when it comes to returns. I purchased over $10k in appliances, one $5k item was defective, discovered this right after it was installed. Manny's should have just set up an exchange with the manufacturer. Instead Manny's gave me the runaround for 8 months. I finally had to contact the manufacturer to get them to deal with the exchange. I won't purchase again from this local business. read more

so i bought a new frig and had it delivered from Cullett"s appliance. excellent people! manny's still hold $300+ dollars worth of useless repairs: they promised a refund but none after multiple tries of contact. Looks like small claims court soon. read more

The Westfield store - This has been one of the most frustrating experiences ever. First they gave me the run around about being able to even get the refrigerator I wanted. "There is one at the warehouse, but we most likely won't be able to get it." "Okay, I'll take to floor display." "Maybe we can do that." Back and forth, with yes, no maybe. Crap - sell it to me or let me buy it elsewhere. It arrived at the agreed day and time - that's why I gave them 2 starts. However it arrived with two shelves missing. I called the salesperson who got the commission and he "sent en email to the factory." 4 weeks later, I spoke to the store manager, and he also "sent an email". It's been almost 2 months and nothing. Their ad says they do better because "We Live here". They may live here, but all they care about is their commissions, definitely NOT their customers. I was looking for a company I could continue buying appliances from for my other properties, but this is not it. read more

After 8 months our Frigidaire dishwasher stopped working. I called the Westfield store to speak with my sales guy to report the issue on a Tuesday. I got a very friendly man named Jim who referred me to the Wilbraham service/warranty department. I spoke with a very unfriendly man who told me they could not send a tech out until Friday. When I said I was disappointed that they couldn't come sooner the response i got was "do you want me to tell someone with a refrigerator problem that I can't help them because I'm fixing your dishwasher?" I replied that my concern was that the technician would not be able to fix the problem, and that I would end up going through the weekend without my dishwasher. As expected, when the tech came he could not fix the problem and needed to order 2 parts. When I spoke to the tech he said they usually arrive in "a couple days". As of Wednesday of the following week I still had not heard back. I called and spoke to the service manager (Dave possibly). He told me one part had come in but they were still waiting on the other. I asked for the part number which he gave me. He told me there was nothing more they could do that they could only get their parts from one distributor and they would contact me when it came in. When I hung up the phone I Googled the part number and found multiple supply houses that I could order it from. Now we get to Tuesday of the following week and I still have not heard from them, two full weeks have passed since I called for service. I call my friendly sales guy Jim who can't believe himself that I'm still without a working dishwasher. He says he will look into it. On Wednesday I get a call from the service manager (same guy Dave I think) He tells me they expect the part in by the end of the week and they will come on Monday to install it. We go back and forth about the poor service, I tell him I will never do business with Manny's again, he tells me I should be upset and never buy Frigidaire again and that they've done everything they could do to service me. I tell him that the right thing to do would be to send a tech out to fix it AS SOON as the part arrives so I don't go another weekend without. He tells me he's short staffed, blah blah blah....About an hour later I get a call from Jim. He's happy to tell me the part will be in on Thursday. I'm like Thursday? Dave told me the end of the week and the tech won't be fixing it until Monday...Jim says that must be the best they can do. I work in the customer service industry. I don't expect special treatment but I do not feel Manny's did everything they could do to service a customer that spent over $8000 with them. I too like to support the local business owner but I doubt seriously that I would have waited this long if I bought from Lowes or Home Depot. The prices at Manny's are competitive with the other big stores but the service department is weak at best. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that i don't run in to issues with any of the other appliances I bought there. read more

My parents always prefer to buy from the small business as opposed to the big box retailer. They purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator several years ago and it had to be repaired, and I tell you without exaggeration, TEN , times. Finally ,Manny's replaced it with a Maytag. Supposed to be a great brand, right? Well, one year and one month into ownership of said Maytag, the back has frozen up, preventing air flow, and another refrigerator full of food spoiled. The repairman unplugged it, said plug it back in, 2 days from today, and he will return next week to bring ain "defrost kit". Given other reviews of appliances from this store, I am beginning to doubt that my parents were sold a new appliance. Not only that, my elderly mother is without a refrigerator for quite a few days. I haven't encountered appliance failures to the extent I've witnessed from Manny's products. I hate to say it, but go with Lowe's or Best Buy. read more

We have purchased a few appliances from Manny's and have always found the sales reps to be patient and informative. We recently needed a new refrigerator (our current one died without notice, of course) being that this is such a high demand appliance I dreaded the whole process. To add to the difficulty I needed a less then popular color, counter depth refrigerator. We went to a few places to shop/price comparison, most places made us feel like what we were asking for was difficult and required a special order, that would take 3+ weeks. Imagine living without a refrigerator for 3+ weeks. Manny's price was the same as all of their competitors in addition they offered the best delivery date. I was really impressed with the delivery process, it was flawless. I received the call on the day I expected it, they called with my 4 hour window, and arrived on time. They were in and out of my house in a very short period. Most importantly they did not damage anything inside my home while performing the delivery. The last delivery I had (June 2017) the delivery company caused damage and we are still trying to resolve this issue, 7 months later. This company truly cares about their customers. Thanks David Lunden and the entire Manny's Team read more

We just purchased a brand new Frigidaire refrigerator, for over $2,000, (less than three weeks ago) again from a nice salesman (George) from the Hadley store. I noticed a small dent on the front left door. We called Manny's of course immediately, they told us their repair person would have to come out to replace the dented front door. Fair enough. In the meantime, we noticed two small dents on the side of the fridge, and the "cooling drawer" that's supposed to hold the deli items like cheese and deli meats, started to freeze those items instead (clearly something wasn't right). So now we had a few issues we were waiting to have checked out. My husband waited around four hours for the repair man to come with the new door and they completely blew us off for the appointment - never showed, never called. I called our original sales person, George, told him we were just blown off, he apologized, of course, (he wasn't aware of any issue - I had to explain everything again), said he would call us the next day. Unfortunately, no call from George or anyone from Manny's regarding the new door never being delivered or installed (this was bad enough). At least the repair man for the issue with the cooling drawer showed up a week later, assessed the problem, identified it as a known problem with the older models, thought there might be a repair. At this point, we're thinking Manny's is bound to do the right thing and take the refrigerator back. Apparently not. George told my husband that he (my husband) would have to call his manager as he didn't have authority to do anything about taking the fridge back. My husband called Manny's manager to no avail. He (they) refused to take the refrigerator back. They are protected by law apparently, and we're stuck with getting it fixed by Manny's - I guess for the rest of its days. We will be taking these problems up with the Massachusetts Attorney General as this is so obviously wrong. We will also be taking this to the Better Business Bureau. We want to make certain this doesn't happen to any one else. So disappointing of a business. We had heard such nice things about Manny's in the past. read more
