Extremely Disappointed with Faulty Bertazzoni Range/Oven and Customer Service at Manny's I recently purchased a range from Manny's, and I must say that the entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. To start with, the range arrived with a 36" glass piece that was falling off the door rendering it practically useless for cooking. Until 2 weeks later a technician came and used a cardboard shimmy to fix it "temporarily". We never heard back and it never got fixed. Although the glass does stay in place now, it doesn't feel that great to have a new appliance being held together with cardboard and no one ever got back to say a permanent fix was available. Not even a month later the oven completely stopped working. A tech came twice and got it working except now its making noises and lights are staying that shouldn't be. Something is clearly wrong with this stove. We've tried to contact sales and customer service to ask about a return but no one seems to want to help and correct the situation. Someone in the industry mentioned that Manny's is kind of known for never taking returns, even if products are defective. They'll just keep sending technicians to fix it instead. I expected better quality and better customer service from Manny's and probably will go to Salemi's in Springfield from now on. This was a once in a lifetime purchase for our kitchen and has been really disappointing and we'll never buy another appliance from Manny's It shouldn't take multiple emails and voice mails to get a company to have pride and integrity in what they sell and the satisfaction of their customers. I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before considering any purchases from this company. Disappointed with our purchase of a Frigadaire from Manny's and their poor customer service. The freezer continually pops open when the fridge door shuts. On occasion it has inadvertently remained open and spoiled food. Manny's did come out to address the issue and shimmed the fridge back, but that did not help. I don't blame Manny's for a faulty product per se, but they offered nothing to ameliorate the situation, e.g. they did not offer to waive the re-stocking fee should we wish to return, or offer us a discount if we wanted to exchange the product; basically they just shrugged their shoulders. The worst service I ever had! Went into Boston Road after finding what I wanted on line, microwave and air conditioner. When the "guy" looked up I started to ask him and he said what we got is over there motioning to the almost bare shelves. Terrible, terrible customer service. Bought an oven, two months later it stopped working. Manny's told me it would be a two week wait to get someone to look at it. I called the manufacturer and they had someone here in a couple of days. Our washing machine stopped turning on. Manny's guy came after weeks of waiting, then waiting for the part. Work done for $364.89. A few loads later the problem came back. The guy came back, looked around on line, then told me the part was recalled and to call GE. Also saying GE would reimburse the $364.84 to them and they'd let me know. I gave Manny's all the numbers and codes from GE that they needed to get this going. I called a few weeks later and again was told I would be reimbursed once they were. It's been over two months. I asked to speak to the service manager. Not only had they done nothing to get this going, I was told it was a different problem they fixed and I was not owed a refund! Even though what they did didn't fix the washing machine! I'm furious and feel ripped off. We've bought all our appliances from them for decades, but I will never do business with them again read more

Very disappointed in their follow through with problems. Recently bought a brand new expensive speed queen washer and dryer. Both broken right out of the box which I discovered a few days later. Dryer timer completely didn't work and washer had a leak inside. When I called to ask for new replacements the salesperson Tim said "we don't take appliances back. Speak to the repair dept not my job. You're lucky you have a good warranty". Why should I need to use a warranty on a brand new product??????? Well, our new Maytag washer didn't even last through the install before the door latch wouldn't engage and it was removed by the delivery guys. Because Manny's didn't answer their phone after 7 calls between my GF and me, I decided to drive over and get a different washer and was greeted by the snottiest salesperson I've dealt with in years. I didn't want to take a chance on another Maytag after reviews reflecting on the door latch so I ended up with an LG washer. My GF called them back to get a price for an extended warranty and was greeted by yet another snotty salesperson that made her feel she was making them work too hard. I am reviewing the service center; the sales department was fine. Our 1.5 year old washer that we bought at Manny's started making noise, so we called Manny's service. They came out and the tech immediately turned on the washer without any clothes in it, despite my saying that the problem was occurring with medium size loads. By then we had to wait for the cycle to complete and it he was clearly in a hurry so didn't consent to running it again with clothes inside (aka, under normal circumstances). He guessed at what the issue was, putting together an estimate for more than $450 to fix it. When I followed up with a video of the washer with clothes in it later that day, I was told the tech was unable to view it and the initial estimate would stand. We contacted Manny's Wilbraham Rd store to purchase a new dishwasher. The salesperson quoted $900 for a middle of the road dishwasher. When we told him to cancel the order he reported he would and hung up. He then called back offering to beat any price anywhere. We declined. A week later we received our credit card bill with the charge for the dishwasher. After reporting this to our credit card company we then called the store and asked for the manager, the same salesman had answered the phone and reported the manager was unavailable and proceeded to report he would credit our card. He then reported to my husband that "he should get approval from his wife in the future" . Again no credit applied. We finally received a phone call from the manager (we left two voicemails) who reported the credit was not processed due to missing numbers from our card (?). Funny he had the numbers to charge the card . Never again will we use Manny's this salesperson was not only deceptive but horribly rude and cocky. read more

Do not go here! Their prices may be reasonable but when you order appliances from febuary they said they will be ready when we need them just call. Which we did. Wouldn't it make sense to check the appliances before delivering them to the customer to ensure everything is okay and not any damage. We Have been paying for them since we ordered them. Their solution is keep the fridge and they will take 100 off or wait for another one! They don't even have an eta of when the appliances will be back in Stock. They are awful business people to deal with! we will make sure to let everyone know not to get their appliances there. George, was very helpful with selling us a nice slide-in dual duel range from Kitchen Aid for a good price. We walked away happy to have supported a local appliance store rather than a big box store like Lowe's or HD and were excited about our new range. Well, we weren't so impressed. Our range was delivered on Friday. We tried to arrange for a service man to be there to hook it up when it was delivered, but we were given a 4 hour window and it didn't work out. Saturday morning, the converter kit was installed and hooked up to LP. Right away we noticed it was leaking gas. The installer could not come back to check on it until Monday. Monday he determined the leak was coming from the range, not the pipes. We called Manny's and they referred us to Whirlpool. Whirlpool sent someone they trust to come out and look at it on Tuesday. He agreed it is not something the installer did, but two different places on the stove that need to be replaced. We called Manny's and they wanted to repair it. We refused any repairs, the range they sold us is broken, so we want a replacement. Would you settle for a brand new gas stove, that you know has had two different points that leak, to be fixed, after spending $2000?! I didn't buy a refurbished or dinged version, I paid full price for a new one that works. (If you bought a new TV, brought it home, and it didn't work, you would take it back and get another one, not have them send a repair guy!) After SEVEN days of jumping through hoops and cooking on a camp stove, our range was finally replaced and working properly. In the end, we got the stove replaced and Manny's took care of the additional charges for having someone come out and install it twice, but it sure did leave a bad taste in our mouths. I hope, in the future, if we need any service on our new appliance, things go more smoothly. read more

At the relatively new Sutton location she purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer last week and the washer made loud noises so she contacted Mannys and they sent their repair person who said the motor needed to be replaced! When she called to return it they said they do not accept returns but to call Whirlpool. When she called Whirlpool they said call Manny's and they should replace or return if within 30 days. My mother in law just wants to return and go elsewhere. Why does a brand new product have broken motor and why won't Manny's let her return it ? Not her fault they sell defective products. A World of Difference! OMG. It was so much less stressful dealing with Manny's than with Lowe's. The experience was personalized, and the process of coordinating purchase of kitchen appliance suite, delivery, and connection/installation was seamless. I had originally ordered everything from Lowe's, but they had no one to install anything; I was left on my own. I spent hours on the phone, trying to locate and line up people who could do what needed to be done. My efforts were frustrating and didn't yield any satisfactory results. So, I canceled my Lowe's order (that part went well) and turned to Manny's.The cost was lower than Lowe's, and they made the connection between me and an installer. Everything went smoothly, and the people at Manny's were a pleasure to work with. Josh Love was the person with whom I had the most interaction. He was informative, patient, and pleasant. I got advice from one sales rep about replacing my gas dryer. He recommended gas over electric, even though I would need to purchase the LP conversion kit and hire a plumber. My wife and I purchased over $10,000 dollars of GE Cafe' Series appliances for our kitchen remodel and had a few issues with the refrigerator. We were told repeatedly that the damage we were seeing was acceptable and that a cleaning agent would remove the gouges in our stainless doors. Well, the service manager arrived with his magic cleaning agent and low and behold we still had gouges and scratches in the door. The replacement door that arrived was so badly distorted that our brand new appliance legitimately looked like it was walked on by a buffalo. The double gas oven would not cook food without burning the edges and nothing we could do would correct the issues. We asked if we could have a consult with someone higher than the service manager and were told the General manager would call us. 3 weeks later I had to call him only to be asked: "How much is it going to take for you to be ok with the appliances?" I asked for a meeting with Manny himself and was told by Mike the GM, that Manny is too busy to call people over such petty things. I do not consider $10,000 worth of appliances petty. I will never buy another thing from Manny again and will advise all friends and family of my experiences with the organization. read more

Recently had a problems with a Whirlpool product, after some talks with Whirlpool no resolution. Monty made arrangements to replace this and have it installed at the stores expense not Whirlpools. I tried using their service dept. to fix a washing machine. It took two weeks to get to the house on a Friday night at 6 PM. The tech took ten minutes to check the machine. He charged 100.00 for the diagnostic said he would order a part and come back for the repair. Two weeks later after we called they they said that was not the part we needed so another week and a different tech comes to the door with a more exspensive part says he does not think its right. He leaves after not even looking at machine. We have gone seven weeks on project. We cancelled Manny,s got another Co. He came two hours later fixed machine with no parts needed. It was only a loose connection. So I have given their service a try and it,s not good. Calls don,t get returned and service is not good. Let,s face it the diagnostic was not even close. This was the WORST customer service I have ever had. I bought an oven range from Manny's 3 years ago. The oven broke (overheated, and only 3 years old). They charged me $150 just to come and look at it.....the part they needed to order was $460 on top of that. It took them an additional 2 weeks to come back and fix my stove. Not only that, they kept telling me they would call me to set up appts, and provide me with times, yet they never did and I was the one who had to keep calling them. When they did call me, they called the wrong phone number. I will never use Manny's service again. Not sure if I ever want to purchase from them again either. read more

On December 6th, my wife and I decided that it was time to go shopping for new appliances as we are having our kitchen redone. We decided on shopping at Manny's in Hadley. The sales rep whom I believe is the owner of that franchised location Jim was very helpful. We bought a $3,000 fridge, a $2300 stove and a $1,000 dishwasher. We paid cash. We have our fridge delivered this past Tuesday the 16th of December and within 10 hours of delivery is dies. We call Manny's and the assistant manager from the Hadley location replies "well that is unfortunate". Offers replacement on Saturday. No offer of a service tech to come look at it or anything. Only replacement in 4 days. My sister in law had a problem with a fridge she bought from them too and immediatley they send out a tech and then a loaner fridge until they could replace hers. Same with another friend of ours. Not once was that offered to us. It was suggested that I call Whirlpool to see if I could submit a claim for spoiled food, that was it. I get it that there are some things that are beyond control, this being one of them but when you have a customer lay out that kind of money in cash on your counter that they worked hard to save so that they could get good appliances from a dealer who is "Supposed to be better because they live here", I would expect to have been treated a little better than this. This will be my first and last experience with Manny's. I hope that this post is useful to other customers. read more

I am a new customer to Manny's and I confess, I was a bit nervous about them after reading some of the negative reviews. However, I had such a positive experience I had to share. First, I am elderly and disabled. I never even made it to the store in Hadley. I researched online and bought a 5 cubic foot freezer (Avanti). Manny's had the best price and to my shock, other places wanted up to $85 for delivery (you have got to be kidding!) Manny's charged $35.00 and I did everything by telephone, the salesman "George" was helpful, prompt and professional. I got my freezer in two days without ever leaving my recliner. I am so happy with my purchase and the professionalism of this store I WILL return and I will tell my friends about my positive experience. read more
