Decent place for lunch, no complaints really all vibes Servers are great friendly attentive Food quality is great even for lunch, enjoyed everything

So tasty!
Jemiah J.

Great selection of appetizers and all-you-can-eat options. I loved how buttery and roasted the skillet corn was. The steamed egg was delicious, and having soybean paste as a condiment added a nice umami touch. The meats were great, especially the brisket. The staff was super helpful. Our grill was changed out promptly, and I liked the convenience of ordering from the tablet. Everything came out quickly. The atmosphere was clean and inviting, and I also appreciated that ice cream was included. My sister and I went during lunch, and it was only $26.99 each.

This Manna Location in otay lakes is my family's go to dinner meals whenever we have a birthday to celebrate over the years We love the new option of the screen tablet ordering, it just makes everything easier and faster. Manna BBQ is the goat because it is definitely one of the cheaper kbbq spots out here in San Diego. So many flavorful meats and yummy sides. Love the free ice cream at the end of your meal. Always looking forward to eating here

I've been to other locations but this was my first time at the Otay location. I met my friend here for lunch and we did the All you can eat A2 menu. When you walk in, it's decorated beautifully inside with light signs and greenery overhead. The booth we sat at hardly had enough room for our legs under the table but we made it work. We started with the salad and Bonchon which were all pretty good but the salad i had to mix a little more to get the dressing on all the lettuce. The bonchon was fish cakes, blanched spinach, potato salad, kimchi, pickled onions and beans sprouts. All very great options! We ordered the pork dumplings, Soon Dubu (tofu stew), Manna Ramen, Ssamjang (fermented soy bean paste), corn cheese, cheese fondue and white rice. The pork dumplings were pretty good, nice and crispy on the outside and well seasoned kn the inside. The Soon Dubu was pretty good but the flavor wasn't the same as the other locations, it had a lot more veggies in it than I've had before also. The Manna Ramen was also pretty good, the noodles were cooked perfectly and I like that they had an option for spicy or mild and corn or no corn. The Ssamjang was really thick so I added water to it to make it more like a sauce than a paste and it was still really good. The corn cheese was good but the edges of it were pretty burnt. The cheese fondue is always a nice treat to have on the gril. And the white rice was cooked perfectly. For meats we stuck to beef belly, beef brisket and pork belly. The beef belly was cut thin, had a good amount of fat on it and cooked pretty quickly. The beef brisket was cut thicker than I at the other Manna locations which caught me off guard when I took a bite. Still good quality meet. The pork belly we got was significantly smaller than what I have had at other Manna locations so when it cooked it shrank even more and ended up crispy and not really how I would've preferred to have it.. I dipped each meat in the Ssamjang and the side of sesame oil n salt and the cheese fondue and it was all pretty delicious. The service was very minimal since we used the tablet to place our order. The servers brought the meats out pretty quick but the sides did take a bit of time to see come out. Overall, a good Korean BBQ spot and definitely worth paying a visit!

About ~$30 pp for AYCE. Service was good -- however, when they sprayed down the tables next to us, it was sprayed dangerously close to our side dishes and we were concerned about contamination... Interior is a little outdated but food isn't too bad. Complimentary ice cream at the end!

All I have a great lunch

Good service and very good food quality for a great price, I was by mysel and enjoy the meats so much.

Best Manna location in San Diego. Service is great and they have tablets on every table for easy ordering. The wait is never long as well. Favorite item is of course the beef belly. The corn cheese also come out cooked here and you don't have to make it yourself!

How much do you charge for kids since they don't really eat much?

Ages 0-4 eat for free Ages 5-10 eat for half off depending on which menu you order from (For A2 it's 14.99 per kid and for A1 it's 17.99 per kid)…

Can I still order Manna Bowl to-go?

Still can! You can call for takeout or order online at UberEats or Grubhub, but they only have certain meat options for them and there's no vegetarian option

Has anyone gone RECENTLY and can confirm if their AC is working? It was 100 degrees inside last time I went. Want to avoid that.

Last time I ordered take out from there was in September and it was very hot inside. Maybe try calling them first?

Do they have the sesame oil with salt in it to dip meat in?

Yes! you can request to servers they will bring out to you

Hello is this place open on memorial day?

Yup! They're always open every holiday for regular hours!

Do they have corn cheese?

yes!!!

Am I able to call and make reservations?

Yes, but only of parties of 7 or more.

Do they offer gift certificates/cards?

Asked and unfortunately no :(

Do they take reservations?

Yes, but only of groups with 10 or more people.

Do you allow 1 person dining utilizing the grills?

There is one pair of tongs for cooking, however more can be requested.

Do you still have lunch special pricing?

They don't

Can you cook your own food now?

Hello, Yes indoor is open now

Is their happy hour special currently available?

Seems like it's not for right now, so no :(

Is the place is still AYCE? What is price for Lunch AYCE and Dinner AYCE?

Yes it is

Does this restaurant have limited indoor dining, or only outdoor dining?

Open for Indoor Dining.

Are you guys doing Inside dining?

For this location yes, seems this location is inside dining only so no worries of eating outside

Why did I get taken off the waitlist and it said the wait time was 15-25 mins while I was waited in my car for about an hour?

Because sometimes life isn't fair

Do they still have lunch special?

Hello! yes we do during weekdays excluding holidays thank you

What's the lunch special and how long is it until it stops?

Lunch special is $15.99 Monday-Friday and the time is open until 3pm.

Are they charging gratuity for party of 7?

Hi! No it is 15% for 8 or more people. Thank you,…

It is a small location but they really have maximized the space. We had no trouble getting a booth. We ordered the fish ceviche bowl to share, which was delicious. A generous shareable serving and the fish was perfectly "cooked." Ceviches are served with your choice of tostadas or chips. I would prefer more pico and perhaps some avocado. But overall it was a 9/10 dish. I also ordered a grilled fish taco with rice and beans. The fish taco was so flavorful and stuffed full with toppings and a large piece of grilled fish. This taco was outstanding. 10/10. My partner had the surf and turf nachos which he also rated highly. I think they could have used a little more cheese. But he said the steak was tender and juicy. The shrimp were seasoned well and there were a lot of them! Everything was delicious and we will be back for sure!

My wife and I saw a TikTok video on this place and decided to give it a try on a Sunday evening…read more I'll break this down into a few chunks. Ambiance: Plus side - the spot had a nice vibe to it. Early 2000's music not playing too loud. Lot's of TV's showing the football game around the restaurant. For a smaller space, it still felt accessible and easy to move by tables if I needed to go to the restroom or when it was time to leave. Downside - The booth seats have no cushion. By the end of the meal, it felt uncomfortable sitting. The restroom looked like no one checked on it in a while. The seat covers sat on the baby changing table with a spare roll of toilet paper, there was something written on the TP holder in what looked like toilet water or worse. The restroom itself wasn't very clean. Also, the front table where they had the wet-naps had a nice little tray sitting next to an opened box. Again it looked like someone just gave up mid-restock. Food: Apps/starters: we tried the salted edamame, fried gyoza, California roll, and miso soup. The gyoza was solid but the sauce it came with was too salty. The miso soup was okay, the seaweed was a little difficult to eat. The California roll and edamame were fine no complaints. We did end up with four orders of the gyoza, so just skip the sauce and you're just fine. Mains: My wife had shrimp, clams, and crawfish with egg, potato, sausage, and corn add-ons in the garlic butter. I had shrimp, mussels, and clams with the same add-ons in the house mild sauce. Her sauce was very good. Mine was too salty to the point where I needed to wash my meats in water a couple times and squeeze lemon on it to get most of it down. We did order a second round without sauce and re-used her sauce from the first order. My potato was undercooked. My wife had to stab it with her chopstick to pick it up and was surprised at how hard it was. The corn was the star of the dish for me. It also seemed like they don't clean their seafood. We found a tiny crab in one of the mussels. Service: Plus side - they get you in pretty quickly and get you started pretty quickly and get your check pretty quickly. Downside - aside from the initial check in and start of service we felt ignored. Our server rarely checked on us, we had to ration our drinks and the quickest response time was when we asked for the check. Overall impression: It's got some good options, but it's out of the way for us to consider going back to it in the near future. For restaurants that we love, we'll make the trip. Between the lackluster service, dirty restroom and the overly salty food, it's not worth a return trip. Hopefully it was just an off night for the restaurant. Unfortunately that first impression will be our last impression.

Chief's is one of those type of restaurants, but what I didn't know about Chief's is that it is a sister restaurant to JJ's Island Grindz and Chief's Da Tiki Bar. The food that was served came from JJ's Island Grindz and Chief's Da Crab Shack, and both served delish grub. Besides the tasty food, I really enjoyed the Hawaiian vibe inside, the tunes emanating from the House DJ made me want to dance, and I appreciated the hustle from the hard working staff. If you're looking for a restaurant for a party or a graduation celebration, check out Chief's Da Crab Shack. Chief's Da Crab Shack is located in South San Diego, specifically Bonita, and it can be reached utilizing the 805 freeway and driving east. The restaurant can be found within an outdoor strip mall that contains the following businesses: Chief's sister businesses, JJ's Island Grindz and Chief's Da Tiki Bar; Franco's Flapjack; Wells Fargo; Colima's Mexican Food; and Fresheria. There is plenty of parking in this shopping center. As you enter Chief's, you immediately notice the Hawaiian decor and fisherman imagery with dryed grass skirt material hanging over their seating booths, netting holding crustaceans and seashells, thick ropes, fish as light fixtures, and ocean birds. This is a spacious restaurant with indoor booth seating, tables and chairs, distressed wooden tables for group seating, and outdoor seating. There were televisions around the restaurant showing World Cup soccer. I appreciated the diligence of Chief's staff who hustled while handling my nephew's graduation party and regular customers visiting. Before making my first visit to Chief's Da Crab Shack, I thought we'd be grubbing on seafood that are boiled and placed in a plastic bag with your choice of seasoning. That is what Chief's primary business is, but since it's affiliated with JJ's Island Grindz, my nephew's graduation party had a buffet line that featured Hawaiian and Asian food, which came from both Chief's and JJ's. The following dishes from Chief's were waiting for our tummies: mini pork lumpia shanghai, buffalo lemon pepper wings, garlic noodles, and white rice. The following dishes from JJ's were calling our name: spam musubi, salt and pepper chicken wings, teriyaki chicken, kalbi beef ribs, and red rice. The spam musubi is spam wrapped with seasoned sushi rice and nori seaweed. The spam musubi was a tasty bite in a small package. The mini pork lumpias were packed with ingredients and flavorful. The salt and pepper chicken and the buffalo lemon pepper wings were crispy and wok fried with green onion, fresh minced garlic, crush red pepper, and lemon. I devoured those chicken wings, which ate well with the two types of rice. The garlic noodles were yummy and had an abundant amount of garlic flavor. The red rice complemented all of the protein I ate. The kalbi beef ribs were okay and I wished they were more tender. My nephew and in-laws made appetizing choices for the graduation party and I happily consumed two plates of the food. 4.5 stars because the kalbi beef ribs weren't as good as the other food items. When we were told that our nephew was celebrating his gradution at Chief's Da Crab Shack, I was looking forward to experiencing seafood seasoned in a plastic bag. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Chief's is affiliated with JJ's Island Grindz and was able to grub on delicious Hawaiian and Asian entrees from JJ's and Chief's. Next time, I'd like to visit both Chief's and JJ's and try entrees that they're known for.
