My wife and I were looking a couple years ago for a great family Dentistry and we nailed it with this place! They are very gentle with our kids teeth and even with mine! They are a bit hard to get in and out of due to the location with all the traffic on 135, but that's just because of the time I have to go for my checkup, pretty much rush hour! But put that aside because as I said my wife and I are very pleased that we chose this as our family dentist! Long story short, if you are looking for a great dentist you should really give this place a try you won't be disappointed!

I came to Emerson Ave Dental (which is now located on Thompson, just past the Arlington light,…read moreheading toward Kroger) because my sister's been a patient of Dr. Bacsa's for years now. My first impression was probably more of a four star -- I hadn't been to the dentist since I moved and there's always that initial hesitation with a new health care practice. Will they be the people you need and can trust with your care? On my first visit, I went for a standard cleaning and exam. (They offer a nice $300 option for self-pay folks where you get your two yearly exams and cleanings, plus an insurance of sorts so you pay less for any additional work you need done that year.) Their office is much more thorough and advanced than my previous dentist. They took all the needed scans (and accommodated my need for a thyroid/neck cover before taking them without batting an eye) and took their time cleaning my teeth to make sure it was done well. Even still, I was out in just shy of an hour. Read: they are knowledgeable, efficient, and do their work well. On my second visit, I was having some fill ins done. This visit was a longer one and I was really impressed by the way they made sure I was comfortable. "Do you need anything? A pillow for your neck? A blanket? Some water?" I've never been offered a blanket at the dentist before this and now I'm spoiled for all others because yes, I did want a blanket! And it was soft as can be. I had my headphones and phone and spent the entire time listening to music loudly enough to cover the worst of the tool sounds during their work. They were completely fine with that, and even encouraged it. Rosemary was the hygienist helping Dr. Bacsa's work on my teeth and she was a very soothing presence. It was clear she knew what she was doing and I really liked her. She coached me to focus on my breath in and out of my nose when they needed to use this suctioning mouth-opener that took a little getting used to. I'd request her at another appointment; she's that great! After my longer appointment, I'm definitely giving this office 5 stars. They're good. They make sure you're comfortable, willing to answer any questions and help you relax. They called me the next day to make sure I was okay, too. It's clear that they do genuinely care for their patients, which is refreshing to see paired with such professionalism and knowledge in their practice. Only things to note: it can take over a month to get your next appointment, depending on the schedule. They're good and it shows in their booking availability! And I've had a couple moments of confusion with the front desk with payments but it was sorted out fairly quickly so I'm not worried about it.

This office has made a mess of my account. I would ask if I had a balance at each visit. The…read moreresponse was "we are waiting on insurance". I expressed my concern about getting a large bill. I asked if they were in contact with both insurance companies. I asked if they had my insurance right? (primary/secondary)? It was at the time. Then, in 2025, claims were not sent to my secondary insurance! Then I found claims sent to my primary insurer were coded for D. Sammans as out of network. And then the primary/secondary were switched. I have tried since late 2025 to get straightened out. This has been a nightmare. No resolution as of today. I get the runaround. As for care, I am not sure. Dr. Sammans did an implant for me. There is a small gap between the implant and the next tooth. He looked at it. He did not see one.

I was pushed into treatments that were presented as necessary, with the implication that my oral health was at serious risk. Later, I was left with a $900 bill when my insurance did not cover the treatment, despite being told the office would verify coverage beforehand. No cash discount or payment flexibility was offered, and when I raised concerns, the front desk staff showed little empathy or accountability. I was told they relied on a piece of paper for insurance information instead of confirming coverage directly. Overall I felt pressured, misled, and unsupported. I would strongly advise others to thoroughly verify treatment necessity and insurance coverage before proceeding here.

It had been just over a year since my last cleaning and they recommended a water cleaning on my teeth because the tarter was "so bad'". After researching this procedure I found that this office took advantage of me because of the fact that I have insurance. In total this dentist office was paid almost $900 to do a yearly cleaning. Before leaving I was given an estimate of an additional $2000+ to fix/repair the rest of my teeth (After insurance). I'll never go back or recommend them to anyone Wouldn't give them 1 star

DISCRIMINATION!!!!…read more I've been coming for years and up until January '23 I have felt discriminated against. I've been scheduled twice in the past 3 months for a cleaning and a tooth extraction and they have done neither! They claim things will take more time so they can't do it, like my cleaning in January. At that time I also scheduled a tooth extraction for March, did I receive that? No. I guess they take blood pressure now unbeknownst to me and couldn't give anesthesia because my blood pressure was "too high." I was given a referral to go somewhere else to get a root canal even though they have an Edodontist on site because I looked it up. They'll do all the x-rays in the world, but won't treat me. A complete waste of money. Just ridiculous. I'm sure they're happy I won't be returning and the feeling is mutual.
