I purchased a new Manitou, but drove 385 miles to get the model and seat layout I desired. It's a 25' Oasis RL (Adjustable Rear Lounge). On this seat configuration, the (power) bimini rear legs rest on the wall frame, but do not latch or hook to the wall. The result is that the bimini legs bounce when trailering or boating through waves. During the ride home, the bimini bounced all around causing damage to the boat. The dealer, Heath's Marine in Linden, MI, will not take phone calls to help resolve issues. He does somewhat respond to emails and forwarded my requests to Manitou for replacement parts. After a few months, I have received and installed most of the damaged parts. However, neither Manitou nor Heath's Harbor is interested in resolving the design issue to the bimini rear legs. It wouldn't be difficult to imitate how every other pontoon boat manufacturer secures these legs to the wall frame. Manitou twice sent me replacment bimini legs identical to the original ones, or replacement pads for the legs to rest on. However, they will not address the unsecured legs bouncing on the boat. They suggesting I use the power bimini's motor to hold down the legs, which doesn't do the trick. Also, the bimini is built to not fold down. Therefore I can not get my boat under low bridges while boating, nor can I get it to fit decently under the boat lift canopy. Again, this could be an easy fix for Manitou with a slight change to the design. - and they could easily make and send parts to retro fit the boat. I have other issues with the dealer and boat performance as well. For example, the dealer did a terrible job setting up the boat but not screwing down the some of the seats, interior lights and other seats were screwed in crooked. As for the performance of the boat, the turning radius is horrible as compared to other boats I drove - Bennington, Bentley, Crest, Harris. I am not sure if it's a design flaw, poor outboard motor paring for my boat, or an outboard motor installation issue. read more

Manitou Pontoon Boats - This leg is supposed to rest on this pad by their design, but bounces up and down - Boating Near Me - Lansing, Michigan

I purchased a brand new Manitou Pontoon boat in April of 2021 from a dealer in Missouri. The experience has been bad from day 1. Manitou does not qualify their dealers as "competent" or hold them to any sort of quality standards. Manitou has an arrangement whereby the dealers are responsible for completing the final steps of preparing the boat for sale. I have had several issues with the boat I purchased, most since day 1, which are due to poor quality and workmanship by the dealer. I have spent countless hours contacting Manitou to get resolution on the issues. Their customer service people agree that the issues are warranty covered issues, however they are the responsibility of the dealer. I have taken my boat back to the dealer twice now with poor quality and workmanship results each time. When again passing this information along to Manitou, they continue to tell me to work with the dealership. At this point, it is not worth the time for me to continue down this path and I will pay to have my boat brought up to the brand new standards. I would suggest being very careful when buying a Manitou pontoon boat. read more

Apparently I am going to have to get on every review and site there is out here to prevent someone else from spending 140k+ on a tritoon only to find out that the manufacture doesn't stand behind its work. We have a 2018 Manitou Xplode. Gorgeous boat gets lots of compliment. unfortunately, two weeks ago one of the toons on the port side starting taking on water and I mean a decent amount. We immediately pulled the boat out and upon discovered several factory welds had cracked in the middle of the toon. We immediately spoke to a Manitou dealer as well as the manitou email line only to be told they will not stand behind this. Even though the dealership agrees this was a factory weld issue. We are the second owner and it was purchased from a boat dealer. However Manitou will not even call us. Have to go through a dealer who states that they can't help without Manitou approval unless we want to pay additional money out of pocket. Who buys a boat that expensive to have to pay out of pocket again for a manufacture weld defect. I will absolutely make it my mission to make sure this doesn't happen to others. Buy another brand who actually speaks to people and stands behind their build/product. read more

First of i live in vienna wva on the ohio river . Being 79 years young and being a boater all my adult life I have restored quit a few pontoon boats. The pontoon of choice was always CREST PONTOONS . I have always liked i/o pontoons and in our area not too many older ones are for sale. I needing a winter project so started a search for a i/o pontoon and it lead me to michigan 350 miles away. It being a 2001 manitou pontoon a brand that i had not heard of before and from the pictures it had been neglected but was not abused and everything was there. From the utube video i new it had been a upper end pontoon and was just what i was looking for. I did some research and found MANITOU is a quality boat builder. Got it home and striped it down and what a nice surprise as to quality and care this pontoon was built Nothing short cut on this pontoon. i contacted the company and they were so nice to answer questions on my old pontoon and even looked up serial number to give me built sheet.
