Entrance to speakeasy leading from barbershop lobby

I have been wanting to check this place out as a barber. I loved the concept of this space , so clean and minimalistic. I would love to see more of these around where I live. La was my bartender, he was a cool dude. He had good convo and he gave good recommendations for the drinks on their menu. The moody aesthetics were a nice touch upstairs . I loved my experience and would recommend to friends for a good little night out with friends .

March 7, 2026 at 2:30 PM for Brunch TL,DR: Love the ambiance and the service was great but I felt as if the food was pretty average for cost. Additionally, the bill includes a 22% auto-gratuity no matter the size of your party, and the machine prompts you with the option to add more when paying. Ambiance (5/5): This is one of the most visually appeasing restaurants I have been too. The entrance on the street level that descends into a basement restaurant after exiting the spiral staircase is definitely one for the books. On top of this, the shade of pink used for the walls creates a vibe that is not only beautiful, but in my opinion keeps those in the restaurant in a soothing mood. This was extremely noticeable as it is a small seating area in the main area, and it wasn't loud even though it was fairly packed. It's also important to note that the restaurant does extend into a bar area and a back room. We were offered to sit in the bar area but chose the main area. Service (4/5): The service was great Our service was very attentive and checked-in on us multiple times. Not only was he friendly, but wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. The only reason I gave a 4/5 was because, our server did forget pepper that we asked for twice, but another friendly team member went the extra mile to help us. Food (3/5): I ordered the Skillet Seafood Omelette for myself, and shared the French Toast Bread Pudding with my friend. The French Toast was nothing short of phenomenal, and I'd return to get that just based on how good it tasted alone. However, the Skillet Seafood Omelette did not quite meet my expectations. Although well made, I found it to be an average taste and something I could have made at home. First, I expected a traditional omelette, but this was a frittata at it's core. I am not a fan of frittata's because in my opinion they bring out all of the worst parts of the egg taste, and had I known it was a frittata and not an omelette, I would have ordered something different. Special Note: This weren't taken into consideration for rating but I thought it was important to note that a 22% auto-gratuity is added to your bill no matter the size of your party, and when you pay, it has the audacity to ask for an extra tip on top of that. Anytime I see this as a restaurant I note it, as I normally tip 20% unless service is bad, and reserve anything higher than 20% for exceptional service.

Really nice speakeasy and great decor. Went and grabbed a pre-dinner drink and I really liked the atmosphere. The drinks were really good, a bit pricey but it's DC so what really can you expect. I would go back and try some more drinks. The service was really good and the bartenders were friendly!

Manifest is like a renaissance (wo)man! It's a cafe, barbershop, fashion store and speakeasy bar all in one! I'll need to come back here to try their coffee. I visited Manifest's "Out of Office" - their cute little speakeasy upstairs. This place stopped me in my tracks from the outside because of the lovely, clean minimalist architecture! What a pretty and thoughtfully-designed space! You usually need reservations here (and I think they charge you something to put down a spot), but I came at the last hour after dinner next door and thankfully they still had an open table! The staff was friendly enough but standoff-ish - I guess that's the speakeasy vibe sometimes? My friends and I took some fun pictures at the retro barbershop chairs and checked out their fancy couture clothing that they sell. Not sure who can afford those clothes, but it's nice to get that NY/Tokyo/Milan style in here! The drinks here were unique. You can order by your favorite liquor choice or choose one of their concoctions. Expect to pay about $20 a drink. It isnt cheap, so you come here for the experience.

So fun. So expensive though. Such an interesting premise. My cocktail with the butterfly pea (which brought the lilac coloring) was really good! I loved how sweet it was, but how the sweetness isn't overpowering.

We enjoyed Manifest..and its private speakeasy "OOO". Everyone, from start to finish, was exceptionally professional and kind. The barbershop and adjacent bar are brightly lit, clean, and sleek...and there's a private door that leads to a very stylish, dimly lit speakeasy, with lush chairs but limited seating. Our host provided me with a complimentary glass of rose and our server gave me and my lovely ladies complimentary shots mixes..which was so thoughtful! The bartender also made me a special customized birthday drink..not sure what it had in it, but it was refreshing, slightly sweet and tangy, and absolutely delicious! btw...Reservations on the weekends is an absolute must! Highly recommend..and beware, there's very limited street parking..and the nearest garage is $60..so either ride share or be very patient. ;)

I absolutely LOVED my Manifest experience. I walked in and mentioned my reservation, the door opened, and someone was waiting at the top of the stairs to escort me to my reservation. The handoff was so smooth. The music was right, seat was comfortable, and the atmosphere was cozy. The drink I had was lovely (forgot the name but it had rum). They also have mocktail options upon request. Towards the end of my Manifest experience, I stepped into the restroom and out was very clean *see photos* Lastly, I love how the staff escorts you out the door at the end of your visit. The service is amazing and I attempted to return less than 24 hrs later but there were no reservations left.

The Out of Office speakeasy is located behind the Manifest barbershop. The space is cozy and intimate which makes a great way to start or end a date night. Reservations are highly recommended unless you go very early, you might be able to get a table. It's a very small space and they only serve cocktails. They have a wide variety of options and all the drinks are around $20.

Went and had a few cocktails on a Saturday night. The concept is unique and loved the true speakeasy feel the esthetic provided. I didn't mind that we had to have a reservation but wished it was a bit longer than the 1.5hours allowed. The bartender did say that usually during the week walk ins are available so will keep that in mind for the future. We sat at the bar and made our reservation about a week beforehand. The lounge area looked very nice but was told those reservations fill about a month beforehand. I tried 2 drinks but the jazz blue soul was my absolute favorite. So good I had to have 2. I would definitely recommend this place for a cute date night or night out with the girls. Just plan ahead!

Have to make reservations, but then they make you wait in the lobby and call you in so it doesn't really feel like a true speakeasy. I liked the entry through the mirror and the lounge vibes, but it was very dark and not crowded. Drinks were way too expensive for what they were. El malećon was the best out of what we got. Costa chica, not so much. Would not return but I see the appeal.

After seeing this place all over social media, my friends and I couldn't wait to give this place a try. As a huge fan of speakeasies, I loved that this one legitimately had that "hidden" component and as a bonus it's black-owned. The first night we arrived we were told we needed reservations and they were full. No fault of theirs but I had attempted to check the website before coming and was unable to see how to make reservations so I assumed they weren't required. Wrong! You need a reservation so make sure to book ahead of time. We decided to come back the next night after the sweet hostess showed us how to make a reservation online. We were taken up to the actual bar promptly, and were seated at a nice table. I adored the vibe inside! It's not too big, but the music, candlelight, and decor really set the tone for a good evening. We placed our drink orders right away and they came pretty quickly. I can't recall the name of mine but it was sweet and spicy and had tequila. It was perfect. We also got some Prosecco for the table. The only negative experience was when a manager (?) approached us and was pushing us to place our final orders after we had been seated for 45 minutes. He informed us there was a table limit of 90 minutes (which goes by fast), but we hadn't even been there an hour. We wound up flagging down our waitress to ask what the deal was and she told us he got our table confused with another. But he certainly didn't come back and apologize for incorrectly rushing us. We wanted to order more but that interaction somewhat soured the end of our visit, hence the missing star. However overall it's a great place, with great drinks and definitely worth the visit!

One sign of a good cocktail to me is that it has balanced flavors that somehow combine well together to create complexity that works. It did here. Our bartender was knowledgeable and guided me well after I shared my preferred spirit and flavor profile. The martini I had was off-menu and well prepared. Nostalgia for days of yore when only a handful of places in NYC were known for "cocktails" - not every happy hour menu in town. We did get the happy hour pricing ($12/drink) and yes, 20% gratuity was included. The service was stellar so I would've done that anyways and had no problem with it being mandatory. The cocktails are interesting and thoughtfully created. Unlike a typical mezcal-based cocktail, Promiscuous wasn't tropical or fruity at all, but more spirit-forward with a little spice. Highly recommend. It made me curious about what else they could offer. I noticed almost everyone was doing the $48 four-course tasting experience, so I decided to give it a try. Although I'm not a big fan of deep-fried food, I actually really liked the coconut shrimp tempura. Among the four courses, the yellowtail "roll" was the most special. It's not really a roll in the traditional sense -- crispy on the outside, with the yellowtail wrapped around it in a very creative presentation. The portion of the four- courses was surprisingly generous; I ended up taking most of it home. Since I Left You is an Old Fashioned variation with miso, blackberry, cardamom and cacao. If, like me, you dig creative takes on an Old Fashioned, don't miss this one. I came in just looking for a chilled place to have a drink, and ended up staying for the whole experience. That probably says enough.

Advice: sitting outside might be better in the cooler weather because we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes and fighting off flies. I really hope that they consider some type of nature oils near the tables to help guests feel more comfortable outdoors. Also, it would help to get more than one fan. Hospitality: aside from the bugs encounter, I would say that we did not have reservations (they were packed inside) so the hostess was nice enough to accommodate us outdoor. Our waiter, Anthony was a ball of energy and he really understands the dishes and was able to give great recommendations, some of which we plan to try on our next visit. Portions: the dishes are shareable so we only ordered the beef noodles and walnut shrimp and both were more than enough for a party of 2. DRINKS: I ordered the dark and stormy which can best be described as not too sweet and perfect for anyone desiring a well balanced drink. The bourbon smash was also really good. Well balanced with a smoky flavor which I loved. FOOD: Beef noodles- gosh this was so divine! Be warned however, there is a bit of spice to it but nothing that you won't be able to handle. I think the spices paired with the preparation of the noodles and the beef all made this dish memorable. Walnut shrimp- another memorable dish which came with a side of white rice. The shrimps were HUGE! But the flavors on each shrimp paired with that crunchy texture and creamy sauce, spectacular! The Dan Dan noodles were SO good. The sauce was the perfect combination of creamy and spicy, and there was a generous amount of minced pork that balanced everything out really well. The wontons paired perfectly with the chili sauce that came with them! They were spicy--my ears turned red and my nose started running--but I literally could not stop going back for another bite.
