All the housekeeping and maintenance staff alwys had a smile and hello whenever you saw them. The only let down was the extremly rude bar tender who looked and acted like he couldnt care less about serving someone. We received the free drinks voucher and asked what it covered, instead of replying he shrugged his shoulders and said " whatever" not very helpful at all. Rooms were adequately sized for NYC but very well lit and the beds were extremley comfortable. Bathroom was stocked well and was a good size, great powerful shower which is often missing in hotels. I loved the mint and lemon flavored waters in reception, it was nice a cold and refreshing. The location was fabulous and felt very safe. Everything you needed was in a few minutes walk ( with a police station literally a few steps away!). I would highly recommend this for a city break or business hotel while in NYC, its a practical, comfortable spot for a few days.

I loved my room. Having a yoga mat and foam roller while on vacation feels necessary for me and it…read morewas so convenient to have a cork type floor rather than carpet so I could do yoga in the room. I'd seen reviews on yelp that people had booklets in their rooms with how to use the workout equipment and even how to find workout videos on the tv. I could not find any of that. Since it's Manhattan, the room is very small so there's no chair in the room which I would have liked but instead two stools. The bed was soft in a lovely way and I found it luxurious. The little touches made this room feel like a respite from the exciting chaos of Manhattan. A tree printed on the drapes, blue painted ceiling felt open like the sky. The lighting was the best I've see in a hotel. The floorboards of the bed lit up, there were colored lights above the headboard which could change not only colors but also brightness. My favorite were the reading lamps next to the bed which could be set at any angle and any brightness. The location was perfect for me. Excellent bagels, coffee, pizza within steps. Penn station was almost at the doorstep. And it was close enough for a long walk to Washington square park or east village. Check in was fast but maybe too fast? I only knew there was a workout room on the 7th floor because I read that on Yelp but wasn't told at check in. I overheard that the doors lock at 9p but wasn't told that either. I was given a voucher for a free drink in the bar. However when I went to the bar the bartender was on his cell phone and didn't acknowledge me for over a minute. When he finally did , it was with that "what do you need little lady" condescending smile as if I'd done something foolish. Also, the only beers were bud or lite beers. The sink in the room was always room temperature so I could not get drinkable water. I drank it anyway but it tasted gross. There was ice water in the lobby so I started using that until one day it was empty so I filled my water bottle with what I thought was lemon water. Nope it was sugary lemonade. Again, this should have been explained at check in or have a sign. I couldn't wash the taste of sugary lemonade out of my water bottle until I got home. I came and went multiple times each of the days I was there and only once was I greeted by the front desk staff. However, when I approached them to ask for an extra blanket, they were very helpful and the blanket was in my room before I returned from buying a bagel. There were multiple long black hairs in my room and since I have very short brown hair I knew they were not mine. Additionally, although I drank coffee, the keurigs k cups were not replaced until I called the front desk. These were only light roast so I mostly opted for Gregory coffee down the street which actually tasted like coffee rather than dirty water. The shampoo did not feel sudsy. The conditioner did not feel hydrating. I'd bring my own next time and I'm normally not picky since my hair is only an inch long. All in all, this was a good hotel and I would stay here again.

We had a great time and the staff made us feel like we were visiting family (who have a very nice house!). The hotel is located near so many great cafes, restaurants, several cute local parks and bars. You're a short walk to anywhere or a cheap Uber wherever. We booked the Stonewall suite which was down 2 floors into the basement. It is HUGE!! There's 2 queen size beds, a double shower, a mini kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, there's a table and 4 chairs, a giant tv, and plenty of furniture to store your things and put your stuff on. My sister in law and nephew stayed in a different suite and they also had a spacious unit with a living room, fridge, pullout couch and a small loft upstairs with the queen bed. The staff were so wonderful and helpful. We met 3 of them over the weekend and everyone was very friendly. I had no issues with having a friend stay in my room the first night and then I asked to change the sheets the next night because I had senior aged parents join me. The staff were very nice about that request too. There's a $58 cleaning fee which I paid upon arrival. It's also adults only (no kids under 10) which I actually really like. My teenage nephew stayed there and that was fine with the house rules.

Everyone we met that manages Incentra was kind, knowledgeable, and exceptionally helpful. We stayed in the Bishop room and while any futon leaves a lot to be desired, it was still functional enough for good rest after long days, and the bed upstairs was great. The shower was fantastic, the WiFi was fast, and we were grateful to have a fridge in the room.

I have made it known to them three different times/ways about my unhappiness with my stay and received no response or correction so reviews are next unfortunately. It is not worth the price I paid at all (over $500 for three nights) We had three lightbulbs out upon arrival and The maintenance man would not go away until I let him in, he stated the hotel said they had to change the lightbulbs then and there and we MUST let him in while we were trying to rest which I found very inappropriate. I also do not understand having a TV and remote in the room but it does not work at all? Why have a non working tv and remote, it might've helped drown out all the noise? Also was told we had wifi in the room but we did not have that either. The night we checked in my daughter wanted a shower but they were both disgusting and dirty and not cleaned. The next day I took a shower and the water smelt like sewage. Sleep is definitely something you will NOT get by staying here between the loudness of outside (the provided earplugs do not work) and the loud kids staying next door getting any rest on this trip was not going to happen at all. I also asked that no one enter my room without us there and everyday the housekeeping entered even though I asked them not too. The only nice thing about staying here was the breakfast for two days, other than that I feel really taken advantage of and can see why you do not have refundable cancellations because everyone would do that. I tried because I had a better deal somewhere else and you said you would not refund so I was just stuck staying here and it was the most unpleasant stay ever. Beware when making a reservation here.

We arrived on a Friday night and were pleasantly greeted by the desk clerk and given the kets to our room. Our room was larger than expected and although there is no elevator at the Chelsea Pines Inn, it was an easy walk up to the third floor. Our bed was very comfortable, with extra pillos and warm blankets. Loved how each room is decorated and named after a theatre star. Downstairs there is a kitchen stocked with a refrigerator, cups, bowls, plates, and cutlery. There is free coffee and hot chocolate 24 hours a day, and there are cafe tables where you can sit and enjoy your coffee. There is a lovely garden courtyard in the back of the inn. We enjoyed our stay here - The hotel is on the same block as a subway, is only a 5 minute walk to Chelsea Market, and there are numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants in the area. We would stay here again.

They have a little coffee, tea area. The coffee was meh and the space was quiet early in the morning. It's a nice location. The decor was fun & cute. The room and facilities didn't seem rundown or dirty at all. Con - the room is not cleaned during the day; I felt like I was being up-charged quite a bit. That may have been my fault... I called Chelsea Pines directly, wound up talking to some agent at a booking website, thought I had booked a room with 2 beds. When we got there, I found out that we only had 1 bed in the room with 3 adults. The pictures on the booking website all show the same photo with 2 beds in the picture and you have to read the fine print to see how many beds you actually have. That could be the booking websites issue, not the hotels. The charge for an extra person in the room was $130 a person. The water pressure in the toilets is set to high ... so flushing the toilet involves getting sprayed in the face by toilet water. Close the lid before flushing. Beware of the juice in the fridge ... it was horrible and tasted like watered down power-aide. They have coffee cups for use on-site. These are not all clean, so be careful before you start pouring your drink in. Bottom-line .... I don't know that I would stay here again. For the cost I wound up paying for 3 people, I would just get a larger room with 2 beds and more space.

Location can't be beat - walkable everywhere, close to subway - just minutes from Midtown. Service was solid, bed was comfortable and bedding, towels and toiletries were good quality. WiFi is also great. They provide complimentary bottled water and hot cider in the lobby, which is cute and cozy, and offers a welcoming space to enjoy an espresso from the onsite Society Cafe. However, the hotel is very dated. The room was small/tight even by NY standards (no room to work at the desk because the bed is right behind the chair). Windows were drafty so room temp wouldn't get above 65 degrees even though the thermostat was set to 70. The carpet was old with visible stains, and the shower head was what you'd expect at a motel. The lighting in the room was dim - just two small weak lamps. The dimness may have added to the dated feel or hid it - maybe a bit of both. It wasn't a bad stay, just not worth the price. Given the excellent location and my overall experience, I'd come back and recommend staying here at a lower price point (max $400/night) and avoid winter given the room temp.
