Stayed for 2 nights. The room was incredibly small. The sink was cracked and water pressure was a bit low. Small window was hidden behind a huge curtain. Location was excellent, only a few blocks away from Time Square. I had my tv on with the volume low while I was falling asleep, next thing you know security was pounding on my door saying my tv was too loud. Not only was it extremely rude, it freaked me out because it was 2am! Who goes pounding on doors?!

The Night Hotel is fine in my book, fine for pregaming with a crew, or even a rendezvous. (Hey, that rhymes!) The hotel is as chic as their web site portrays it - minus strangely-clad, "N"-tattooed models, that is. Don't know about a swimming pool, but there's a lounge connected to the lobby and a soft couch by the main desk. Rooms are a decent size for NYC, but expect to pay through the nose due to the venue's proximity to Times Square (only a few blocks from the Times Square metro stop). Sleek bathrooms are furnished with European-style showers and Kohler fixtures. Beds are appropriately soft. Plan on staying? A continental breakfast is included (do not do this, there are good local options) and Internet isn't (that's $10 additional). Staff are friendly. This boutique hotel has more lighting than I'd expect for a "night" theme. In fact, the total effect of black and white walls, carpets and furniture is surprisingly not garish. Your mileage may vary, of course.

I am going to split this review into 2 parts based on 2 rooms I had. Part 1- this was a queen room. Although small - it was super comfy. Very clean and loved the decor. View left much to be desired. Internet was not free. Part 2 - this was a "upgraded" King room It was a promotion summer special they had on their website. It included free internet and a bottle of Champaign. This room, while slightly bigger was In poor shape. There were gashes in the wall and it just looked run down. The view really sucked as it over looked nothing.I actually preferred the smaller room, It was in much better shape and I liked the way it was set up better.. Over all This hotel has a very cool vibe - all Black and white with Erotic themed art on each floor. The music is very down tempo chill and the lobby is cozy and relaxing . The location is excellent. Located in the Theatre district. It's steps away from Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, The Dimond District, Rockefeller Center, and within walking distance to 5th Ave, Empire State Building & Korea town. Prices are not cheap-but a better value then some places. I would more then likely stay here again.

The view from under the comforter

I would've liked it more off the bat if the staff was nicer. The Asian guy from the front desk is pretty rude. But let's get into the situation about the rooms. The room is super super tiny. I am 5'1 115 lbs and I bruised myself 3 times on the corner of the bed because I didn't have space to walk in the room but then again, I don't expect hotels in New York to be much bigger anyways. However, recently, I've been paranoid after reading an article about how hotels don't clean their comfortors so I've decided to put a flashlight under the comforters in this hotel and what I read on the article was right. It was absolutely disgusting (picture below). The sheets were covered with black specks here and there as well so it makes me think that they don't clean them so well. The walls and floor on the bathtub hadn't been cleaned as well because you can see the brown spots (dirt) in between the walls. Also, the "shower curtain" was nothing but a lightweight sheet so as you're showering, it will keep blowing on you and sticking on you. The only pro to the hotel in my opinion is the location, which was literally about 20 steps from Time Square. They also store your luggage before and after checkout.

Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms with comfy beds. It's really quaint though adult oriented featuring tasteful erotic art. Definitely our new go to in NYC. The restaurant on site is fabulous.

Let me preempt this review by saying, if you are taller than 5'8, either book a KING room, or stay someplace else (I'll tell you why below). Recently went to NYC for two days on business, and was booked at this hotel. First of all, it's a FANTASTIC location - 1/2 a block from Times Square. You can't beat that - and it was within walking distance to our company, so that's why we were booked there. It's a boutique hotel with a "cool" night theme (colors are mainly black, with some white touches thrown in) hence the name,in a great location. It's tiny, but what hotels under a certain amount in NYC aren't? Nice, small lobby with a large couch and chairs, and interesting artwork (nice photos of semi-clad models in leather....you probably don't want to bring your kids here). Front desk people and doorman were pretty friendly, and they have a nice bar in the back. I didn't have any drinks, but there was plenty of seating and the drink menu looked good. I do have to say, they have the smallest hotel elevator I have ever seen (would not fit more than 3 people with luggage, and probably only about 4 without luggage). And of course, they play cool music throughout the lobby, elevators, and floors (they do turn it off at a certain point, because I didn't hear any after 10pm). My room was nice, just small, but I expected that. What I did not expect was the "short" queen bed I had. I'm 5'8, and my feet hit the board at the foot of the bed. I had to laugh, because my manager is over 6', and I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable he probably was. I've stayed at a couple of other NY hotels previously, and I don't remember the beds being shorter, so I'm not sure if it's just at Night, or not. But be aware of that, if you're taller. Just make sure you book a King room, or don't stay there, because you won't be comfortable. The decor was okay, but kind of busy. I think it would have been better, if the carpet was one color, because it competed with the wallpaper (I included photos). And they have lights underneath the bed, which gives it a nice glow. Flat screen TV (mine didn't work, but really didn't have time to watch TV), desk and hidden mini bar and fridge (which I was warned, is touch sensitive, so they charge you if you remove something to even look at it). Bathroom was nice (liked the small shelf above the sink, to hold my toiletries), and shower had good pressure, so no complaints about the bathroom. Overall, not a bad hotel, but it definitely had the feel of a hotel for a romantic weekend, or possibly a clandestine meeting for an afternoon rendezvous...It's worth it for the locale, but keep in mind the short beds, if you're tall.

For my first trip to NYC, my husband and I wanted to find a place that was convenient located and walking distance from a lot of neat attractions, including time square. The positives: This boutique hotel views beautifully in photos and has a very posh upscale vibe to it on entering. The decorating is all dark and moody, and more suited to adult travelers with a tasteful erotic edge. They also have a nice swanky bar, although it is quite small. The service staff was very friendly and stowed our bags while we were waiting for a room. The bed was comfortable but quite short (at 5'10" my feet touched the baseboard). The negatives: in spite of scouring photos for the rooms, the only ones we really got a view of are their "big" rooms, which appeared more standard size. The Normal rooms are VERY tight, which after four days felt exceptionally snug. The bathroom was tiny and very dimly lit, which as a woman applying nice makeup for going out made it very difficult. I had to straddle the toilet and put my phone flashlight on facing me to see anything close to detail of my makeup application. The shower was fine, except for a nicely priced hotel I would expect a real curtain vs a lightweight sheet that continually blows into the small space while you bathe. For an already very dimly lit room, one of the main lights was broken and did not turn on. We were also surprised that cleaning service did not even visit our room the first day we stayed, until interrupting us as we got ready to go out before dinner at 5:00. We had to make special requests for clean towels and a hair dryer. A small annoyance: there is one tiny elevator, and it is very slow. Overall, the biggest perk for this hotel is the location and rather swanky decor. For our next visit to NYC I think we will look elsewhere.

The entire room- incl the non-existent cable TV that they couldn't fix without engineering-- tomorrow!

Rooms are ridiculously small, room Svc is limited menu, based on every interaction I've had with any member of the staff, they are all unhappy employees who don't give a shit about the guests or providing any type of guest satisfaction-- hopefully you don't need anything if you're staying here and love being treated like nothing less than an annoying interruption or complete idiot. Our plates from room service were still in the hallway at 3 am, leftover "Chilean sea bass" and all-- smells amazing 6 hours after cooked!!!! The whole floor is enjoying the incense of my leftover seafood. Yummy! I've stayed at Super 8's with better accomodations and guest focussed staff.

Cool boutique hotel in the theater district. It definitely feels trendy (no name on the front of the building, black & white color scheme throughout), but not short-lived. It's a nice combination of whimsical and mature. My room was small - but with nice amenities that made it very comfortable. I especially liked the plasma-screen TV, the featherbed and down duvet, the perfectly fluffy pillows, Molton Brown toiletries, the daily NYX delivered to the room, and free wireless internet. Oh and the free glass of wine at happy hour. I didn't much care for the doorless shower, the eensy beensy desk, and the one tiny elevator. And I didn't eat in the restaurant, but the room service was just OK. (No reason to order room service in Manhattan, so not a deal-breaker for me). The staff is very nice and efficient, and other guests seemed happy with the service. I've stayed in hotels where there is always a group of people congregated at the front desk, leaning forward and complaining loudly. Not so here - the vibe in the lobby is calm and under control. The location is very convenient - just off of 6th Ave on 45th St. so you are not in the mayhem of Times Square, but can easily get to all central points in the city. The bar/restaurant was full every night (and I was here mid-week), so I would readily invite friends to meet me here. Would definitely stay here again.

Love love love the esthetics of this boutique hotel. Every detail perfect for the vibe. You know when you're in NYC you're not going to have the biggest room or tons of views, but when I arrived I felt like the size was perfect and I was so happy that I had a wall of windows that looked over 45th street. The location of this venue is literally a block from Times Square and the hustle and bustle any tourist is looking for. Being next to the theatre district and to walk up and down Broadway is also a really awesome thing to do. Having the Night Hotel so central made it easy to grab a cab or über wherever I was going and I would arrive pretty quickly! My only dislike of this hotel and honestly it's not even really a dislike, but the bathrooms are so dark it's hard to really do makeup and get ready, but I made do and after the first day it didn't even bother me anymore. Towels - clean Bed - clean Floor - clean Bathroom - clean Room Service - fast Housekeeping - good Front desk staff - very helpful Rate - found on hotels.com then went to their own website called them to relay the hotels.com rate and type of room and they met the price and gave me room upgrade

Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. This is a place we will return to -- not just for the luxury, but for the people who made us feel so genuinely at home during the most meaningful time of year.

Unfortunately, due to geopolitical instability impacting our return route through Amman and the broader Persian Gulf region, our travel plans became unworkable. I contacted multiple hotels involved in our itinerary, and every one of them demonstrated professionalism and understanding by waiving cancellation fees given the circumstances--including other Marriott properties and the Ritz-Carlton. This property, however, took a completely different approach. I spoke with Samir in the reservations department. He refused to provide any refund. We went back and forth multiple times, and each time he introduced a new justification. At one point, he claimed the U.S. State Department had not advised against travel to the Persian Gulf and that any warning had expired on March 31. I provided evidence that there was no expiration date, yet he continued to deny the request. I also explained that other Marriott properties and Ritz-Carlton locations had already issued full refunds under the same circumstances. Despite this, he continued to refuse any accommodation. Only after I told him I would be leaving a review about my experience did he offer a future credit. That is not a practical solution when I have no certainty of returning to Morocco. I then requested that a manager follow up with me. No one ever did. Communication stopped entirely. This response reflects a lack of flexibility, accountability, and basic customer consideration--especially when compared to how other properties under the Marriott International brand handled the exact same situation. As a result, I had to absorb the financial loss and cancel the reservation. Based on this experience, I recommend considering alternative accommodations that demonstrate greater responsiveness and professionalism when dealing with legitimate, unforeseen global disruptions.

Bonus-it was clean!! The iPad system to control the room is clever: manage the thermostat, tv, blinds/shades and lights. It takes a minute for the iPad to connect (not sure if it's a wifi issue or that these iPads are an older model). Speaking of the thermostat, it kinda worked. I think it shuts off or scales back when there's no movement in the room. I had a hard time getting it cooled down to a good temperature, so I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked. The bed is very comfortable, though...and even with the small space, there are plenty of places to hang clothes and store items. Several outlets and USB charging stations available as well. There aren't any washcloths - just hand/body towels... and it's up to you if you want to have your room lightly cleaned or fully turned over. (See your iPad to make that option). There was only one elevator working, so it could take a few minutes to get your lift up or down. The staff that we engaged with were great. Check in and out were super easy. The lobby is pretty cool and hip. There's a small rooftop bar/lounge and a nice sized food/canteen area in the lobby. The location is outstanding. 50th just off 8th Ave...right in the heart of Times Square and walking distance to many other destinations. I would stay here in the future...2-3 nights is perfect. This spot is super centrally located, and during NYFW was an affordable, clean, and hip spot to stay for a few days. I am familiar with CitizenM as I have been to their hotel bars in their Miami locations, but had never stayed at one. I truly enjoyed my experience here. From check in to ordering wine or coffee at the bar, to the room, it was all lovely. I will say, the room is quite small. But truly, what do you need a big room for when you're going to be exploring NYC all day? The bed we got was a king, and dare I say it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. The room is set up a bit like a studio, with two little closets which made it easy to organize and unpack, a small desk, and a vanity in the common area. The toilet and shower are together in what kind of looks like a spaceship capsule in the middle of the room. One cool thing is how high tech this hotel is - you have an ipad that controls everything in the room from the room temp, your blinds, to the TV, to connecting your devices to the TV to stream music, etc. In the lobby bar you can opt in for hotel breakfast buffet, but instead we would just grab coffees as we were getting ready. Grace at the bar was super friendly, as was all of the staff. My one area for improvement is the elevator. We received a notice that one of the three elevators was broken during our stay and every time we would get on the elevator it would take us multiple floors up before going down. Not the worst thing in the world, but just annoying if you're in a rush to get somewhere. If you are looking for an affordable, centrally located hotel to stay with a friendly staff this hotel is your spot. You have multiple subway stations within a 1-2 minute walk which can easily get you to any neighborhood you want to go during your stay. Would definitely return!

Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. All the meeting rooms were clean and organized. We had over 1,000 conference attendees and needed ample space and everything went pretty smoothly. Temperature control was generally good, but got a tiny bit chilly at certain points of the day. The staff were extremely prompt with setting up and removing catering food, but were not the friendliest. They have a free standing pumping station for those that need it. It was easy to access and decently clean, but could've used a wipe down by the second day. They provided a mini fridge in one of the meeting rooms for storage.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! DO NOT BOOK HERE!…read more I came here around April for a work trip and no where on the reservation page did it say that the hotel was under construction. They also offered the price including breakfast. Arrived at the hotel and saw that they only had one working elevator for a hotel that was over 20 floors high. There was a line for the elevator that you had to wait for at least 20 minutes to take. I asked the about the breakfast and they said the restaurant was closed so no hot breakfast. Why is this hotel offering a room rate price with breakfast when there is no restaurant for breakfast?! They told me they had bagged breakfast, which was always gone and coffee was all gone too. Took over 10 minutes to wait for new coffee to arrive. Renovation work bright and early at 8am. I was offered loyalty points for compensation by the manager, Delanie, and these points never showed up. I was also mistakenly charged for drinking their water bottles when I didn't even touch those bottles. They never even told me that I was going to be charged after checking out. I just saw a random extra charge on my credit card. The manager, Delanie, had said this would be refunded, but never saw this refund come through just like the loyalty points.
