Stayed here for two nights the first weekend in December. The hotel appears to be going through a transition in ownership.
Pros:
- Great location in Time Square. Quick walk to broadway shows, Rockefeller center, and Bryant Park
- Overall clean room
Cons:
-Items in the room were not stocked when we arrived. Less than half a roll of toilet paper and no extra rolls. One tissue left in a tissue box. No bag in the ice bucket. No ice in the ice machine in the hall. We ended up going out to buy our own toilet paper because it would have taken over an hour for housekeeping to bring any items.
-The front desk did not seem very informed. We asked how the parking validation worked for the parking garage. The lady simply said, "um, I just validate it." Only after going to the parking attendant was I informed that the "validation" only takes off 5 bucks (60 bucks a day total) and you have to pay the attendant versus using the machine. I don't mind paying the parking, but a little information on the parking process/cost/validation would be helpful.
-When checking in, the front desk also told us "we don't have any rooms". What she really meant was that they needed to clean the rooms (versus being completely booked). Apparently, from other guests, this was an issue as they were left without rooms ready (even with reservations) until later that night.
I feel bad as they are going through a transition phase, but this information may be helpful for those looking for accommodations in NYC. Overall, the stay was fine because of its location. But just be prepared things may not be up to par. read more
