Dr. G took her time to explain what she was thinking based on my interview answers but also asked, where appropriate, follow up questions to understand why I would answer her questions the way I did. Dr. G spent the time needed to deeply investigate how I would use a pair of hearing aids to enable her to make her best possible recommendation and for where hearing aids would help me the most. I was pleased Dr. G would get into the 'nitty gritty' of what hearing aids would actually do to help me and my loved ones. Before I retired, I managed a consulting practice for a major technology organization for a Fortune 500 corporation. i understand the difference between a superficial and a more intense interview. Dr. G explained several times that she wanted to understand what aspects of my hearing I would want to improve the most and setting my expectations of what I could expect. I was also impressed with how Dr. G included my wife in our discussions, seeking her input where appropriate. We would become a team working together to achieve a life-fulfilling goal. I am very comfortable with Dr. G's approach, and could feel the depth of her knowledge and practical experience in this subject area. I am looking forward to continuing the process that will affirm the type of hearing aid that will serve me my loved ones the best. I was pleased to see that her approach was more than checking off boxes on a spreadsheet, but really delved into what I do during the course of a day and the relative importance of the many different activities we discussed. I have had an earlier experience with a major hospital regarding the fit and use of hearing aids. That experience left me disappointed where I questioned the entire idea of using a hearing aid. My experience with Dr. G is 180 degrees different from my earlier experience. I am excited and looking forward to engaging in the process to effectively learn to use a hearing aid under Dr.G's guidance.

After having the hearing aids a month, I had a follow-up visit which went fine as well. At that appointment, they asked that I contact them in a few months' time to make a 6 month follow-up appointment. However, I called several times to make this 6 month follow-up appointment, I couldn't get through to anyone at the office. I left messages which were never returned. Finally, I had to call the company that had originally referred me to HearUSA (Hearing Solutions) to let them know about the difficulties in contacting HearUSA. The referring company was able to contact this HearUSA location, but were told that there were no appointments available - like, forever. So overall I am extremely disappointed with this company - they made the sale and then ghosted me. If you are looking for a place to get hearing aids and wish to have ongoing support for what you buy, then I strongly advise you to NOT go to HearUSA. I wish I hadn't.

The lack of professionalism is outstanding. From the beginning, the service was awful. I checked in at the front desk, and the receptionist told the audiologist I was here - he proceeded to go to lunch. After waiting for half an hour, I knocked on Ms. Ariel Monserrat's (the audiologist) door to check if she was there. She casually said, "Oh yes, I'll be with you shortly". She was sitting at her desk on her cell phone - I guess I interrupted her texting. No apology or explanation for the wait. Nothing professional about her! Recently, I lost my charger/case, and for the last two weeks I have called that and their 3 other Manhattan locations - left multiple messages and no one ever called back. I finally called HearUSA Customer Care to file a complaint. Not expecting any resolution, I went directly to my union to complain and got the service needed.
