Crêpes are an ultra-thin pancake common in France that can be made sweet or savory, typically rolled or folded with a variety of fillings from jam or Nutella to ham and cheese or fruits. They can be eaten for breakfast, dinner, brunch, dessert, or even a snack. Situated on Riverside Avenue in Lyndhurst, this cozy, simple hidden gem establishment offers an array of healthy options on their diverse menu, to which my partner and I returned after 8 years. Upon entering 3rd Wave Cafe, we were able to get a booth along the wall in an upbeat, casual vibe as the music was playing throughout. We decided on the Tropical Crêpe and Avocado BLT Wrap. I started with a French iced coffee that was really strong and served in a glass mug. The crêpe was fluffy, and the texture was great. I could tell all the fruit in it was fresh because it was sweet. The crepe was decorated nicely with a Nutella drizzle and whipped cream dollops that made it visually pleasing. The food, on top of being good-tasting, had a great presentation. The price was reasonable and the portion a healthy size. The service was friendly and not rushed; our server was Am. We left feeling satisfied and content, and we can recommend returning to explore other menu items.

All ingredients and signature salad dressings are freshly prepared every day. These are a couple of the top seller items I explored. My Grilled Peach Salad: This fruity salad was blended with mixed greens, honey roasted pecans, cranberries, gorgonzola and of course grilled peaches. No salad is complete without its share of homemade apple vinaigrette dressing. A dinner roll is also included. My Pesto Panini: This panini was loaded with pesto, tomatoes, red onions, and mixed greens. The grilled chicken blended perfectly with this sandwich; it was packed very well as nothing fell out. I ate well, looked good, and felt great dining in this salad restaurant. #mysalad #mysaladlyndhurst #mypestopanini #mygrilledpeachsalad #GrilledPeachSalad #pestopanini #lyndhurstnj #valleybrookave

Each visit I've ordered at the counter and received my grub lickety-split. My only two issues - it's not cheap and this mini-mall can be savage (especially in this half - close to the TJ Maxx and dollar store) so parking can be rough. Regarding the cost - the quality of the food is noticeable, the portions are substantial, and I've been able to have leftovers the next day for my paninis. So far I've tried a hot one (chicken) and cold (tuna) and both were incredible. And I'm not sure what kind of witchcraft is being practiced here but one of my kids has not liked or eaten bananas since he was a toddler. Him and his crew will come here for lunch once in a blue and what's his go-to order? The Nutella Protein Toast which has... yup, bananas. How did that happen but he still won't have a banana at home? Also worth mentioning their takeout container is "earth-friendly" and recyclable. Definitely recommended. (And with "Salad" in their name I'm pretty sure my cardiologist won't give me grief!)
