I hired Manel Sealers to sealcoat my driveway two years in a row and both times it failed way too fast. This year I made a point of showing the crew several moss spots in the middle of the driveway before they started. I'd already treated and killed the moss and explained that the leftover residue still had to be physically scrubbed off before sealing. They told me they'd brush it out, which is also exactly what the contract I signed says they'd do: clean the surface with steel brooms to get rid of all debris before sealing. That's not what happened. My security cameras caught the crew making a phone call, walking around, running a weed trimmer, blowing off the surface, and then sealing right over the spots I'd pointed out. No brushing at all. Sure enough, the areas that wouldn't cure were the same spots where the moss had been, and there was mud cracking on top of that where the sealer got laid on too thick. Same exact failure I had the year before. When I brought it up, they basically told me they'd done everything they could and were closing it out. I'd think twice before hiring them, especially if your driveway has any shade or needs prep first. And get every promise in writing. read more

I have had Manel do my driveway sealing the last few times- I have had enough of this messy task! When you have them seal your driveway, they will send you a reminder each year or 2 as a reminder. I emailed them for the latest quote- and also checked with 3 other companies. They were competitive/low (3 others were higher and another the same price) so that was good. They email you to schedule based on the weather each week. They gave me a 2 day heads up to have the cars out of the driveway by 7 AM. The crew of 3 men showed up at 8:15- they edged the grass on the driveway and blew it off. I watched them seal the driveway- they were thorough and quick- they have done a few of these I can tell. My driveway is 3 cars wide- 53' long. They were done in 15-20 minutes! They put a green cone at the end of the driveway to keep vehicles off for a day or 2. Well worth having Manel do it vs. buying the sealer and brush and wasting a pair of pants and sneakers. read more

Recently I was at a large apartment complex here in the city and saw Manel Sealers at work. And I must say they work and do a great job. From their beginning prep work cleaning and removing all debris from the area they're going to work on right up to the actual sealing. They worked in a timely fashion and took care of every part of the parking lot getting it ready. From there they did a prep coat of sealer by hand of the the entire parking lot. After it dried, they brought in the spray tanker and went over the entire parking lot. It was a huge parking lot. After that, their line and handicap spray machine was brought in to finish the parking lot. It was a precision job very well done. Manel is a well run company handling both residential and commercial property sealing. read more
