I came in for caramel highlights, to blend into my brown hair. Rachel, the owner of the salon charged me $600 for a full highlight. Wow. I have lived in Los Angeles and San Diego for the past 8 years, receiving color correction treatments for bleached out ruined hair, highlights, and balayage at high end salons in La Jolla and Santa Barbara. The peak of what I have spent on my hair should not have been in Wilmington, NC, and for bad hair at that! Yes, I have long hair. I have NEVER been charged anything close to $600 and even if I was okay with that price, I am not okay with it for the hair that I left with. My hair is fried, looks nothing like the photo that I showed her, has a bad cut, and has bad color. There are streaks of platinum mixed with deep brown, leaving me with all shades of human hair on my head. When I called the salon after getting over the initial shock of the $600 charge, Rachel couldn't give me a good explanation for how that price came to be. She said she charges by the hour, then she said by the individual service "she had to charge extra for the money piece in front". Then, she told me that she had to provide color correction and that is why it was so expensive. I color my roots with Wella at home. There was no color correction needed. She gave me a full highlight service with toning and it ended up frying my hair and looking not at all subtle. I feel like crying, looking back at how my hair was just a couple of days prior to going in and paying $600 to someone for this "service" is such an insult. I don't know how I haven't written a review for Mane yet because I absolutely LOVE THEM. I don't think it matters who you go to here - they all seem pretty amazing but I'll tell you my fave is Olivia (Liv) West. Liv is the sweetest soul! I am super picky about who cuts and colors my hair and she met every expectation I had going in. She was personable and super attentive to what I wanted, she asked a lot of questions to make sure it was clear and talked me through the process. She is so so nice and I am so happy I found her! I found her through Instagram and she is active on there about hair care, how to's, and just overall good people. I learn from her when I'm not even in the chair! Leah is another one I've gotten blowouts from and I am so so happy I met her along the way too! She is so bubbly and has such good skills at making my hair so full of life. I couldn't be happier to get another blowout from her for a treat yo self day - because, honestly, we all need them nowadays. She also cut my husbands hair and I absolutely love it. He was happy with the cut and the cost! Love love love Mane and couldn't recommend it enough. read more

As far as the salon itself, the space was very clean and relaxing. Staff were friendly and my stylist understood what I was asking for. I enjoyed that clients are given robes to wear, giving a more comfortable feel. The reason I would give this salon 3 stars is the price. I usually get my hair done for about $180 for full highlights but I left Mane paying $280. I would understand paying that much more for a larger service, longer hours, or more color correction but I have worked hard to keep up with my highlights. Next time I am going to try a different salon hoping for a lower price for the quality. Worth a try if you have some extra money in the bank though! read more

Probably one of my favorite hair places ever! I started going here and even got my mom, sister, and sister in law to go here. We all use the same girl and her names Erin! Erin takes the time to help you figure out what you want and does it flawlessly. She takes her time and makes sure you hair is what you love. I always get some sort of highlight, hair treatment, and haircut and I am never disappointed! This salon has other stylists as well who are friendly and know what they are doing. They also offer makeup for sale or even getting your makeup done. They also have bridal services. Erin did my sister in laws hair as well as the bridesmaid and my moms hair. All hair was stunning and held very well! Prices are also good, nothing too crazy expensive but very reasonable for the great work! They over color services, haircuts, makeup, blowouts, updos and many more! I love this salon and would recommend to anyone! read more

I went to see Brittany Dickerson for a quarantine color correction and I could not be any more pleased. This was the first time actually going to Mane Studio after finding Brittany on Instagram and I am so happy to have found her! Definitely worth the drive if you are in the Camp Lejeune/Sneads Ferry area. I have been trying to go white blonde for such a long time and she managed to get there on my dark brown Asian hair while still maintaining my hair health in the best shape I've ever seen. This was my first time here and I have mixed emotions, mostly negative. I came in asking for full high and lowlights and expecting to spend around $150 including tip as per prices on their website. I checked out spending $260!!! A ridiculous amount in my opinion. As the stylist was doing my hair, I feel like she was taking advantage of me and adding in extra things/treatments that upped the price that I did not need or ask for or was even explained why she was doing it. This made me pretty anxious in the chair. My hair did not turn out bad at all, I actually really like it and how it was styled. BUT I said I wanted it darker than it was when I came in and it turned out a little lighter/the same when she was finished. Needless to say, she did a good job, but I will not be coming back here again because of the price and its not worth it. read more

This week was my first time at Mane after a few botched rooty blonde attempts at salons in Virginia. I found Brittany on Instagram (blondeandbalayaged_) and ended up making the several hour drive to see her-- totally worth it!! She was super patient, looked at a few inspo photos and listened to me use "beach" and "surfer" like I wasnt crazy, and did perfect blended beach baby lights AND was able to keep me the brightest icy blonde (and this was on top of a botched brassy root smudge from the last stylist and several inches of quarantine growth). If you're a blonde, she's your girl. I already can't wait for my next appointment. I hope that she or someone from the salon gets certified in Invisible Bead Extensions, and then I'll never have to go anywhere else!! read more

drove from Myrtle beach to Wrightsville Beach have Had Brittany Dickerson Do my hair , left with a messed up color and hair CUT and in tears almost . Was super excited to have her do it only to be super excited now to be able to get it fixed soon . Couldn't believe the service I received and I hope this does not happen to anyone else .
