I've gone to Mane Street for the past 14 years, and every time I leave so completely satisfied, feeling confident, and just feeling like me again! Tate is my go to guy! His shampoos are heavenly. He listens to what you're interested in, and if he needs to make any adjustments to your expectations, he is sure to discuss it with you first! She takes my suggestions but always puts her professional spin on them and makes sure I don't over-process and lose my hair. I wanted to love this place. The people were so great and were able to fit me in on a day that they usually wouldn't have had more then on person working in the morning. I asked for someone who could really do a great fade and they obliged over the phone. It was a mediocre fade. They don't accept tips via credit card, so I had to go to the ATM next door and pay $3 to take money out for the tip (I tipped very well anyway but I thought that other people probably wouldn't have even went back). I recently had my hair cut and colored at Mane St after deciding not to go back to another local salon (too pricey for what you got). After reading reviews, I decided to try Mane St and asked for Katie. What you give up in luxury accommodations here, you gain in getting talented stylists who are working hard to please you. The place is busy with both male and female stylists serving a wide range of people. Definitely not a snooty salon. Katie greeted me warmly and gave me wonderful personalized service. LOVE the cut and color she created. And no one is pickier than I am with hair! All this for half the price of the "trendier" salon I was going to down the street. I had to make a last minute appointment to have my mother's hair done and didn't know any hair salons in Hudson, NY. Mane Street was kind and accommodating and got her in as needed. The stylist was sweet and tried to do what I asked, but unfortunately, she isn't a good stylist. Also, the cuts I saw in the short time I was there were dated. I can't say enough about the courtesy and politeness, which is why I've given this salon a higher rating than I'd like, but would not recommend if you're looking for a good style and cut. read more
