Our decision to eat at Mandy's Cuban Restaurant was actually made before we even walked through the door (my name lol). From the moment we stepped inside, the restaurant had a warm, homey feel and the aroma alone was enough to convince us we'd made the right choice. The smell of slow-cooked meats, rice, spices, and fresh Cuban dishes filled the air and made it nearly impossible to decide where to start. There was an incredible array of offerings, with something for everyone. Every tray looked fresh and inviting, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the preparation. The variety was impressive, allowing us to sample a little bit of everything, and each dish delivered comforting, authentic flavors. Between the welcoming atmosphere, the fantastic menu, the amazing smells, and the wide selection of delicious food, Mandy's was a standout meal during our visit to Tampa. One of the best if not the best Cubans I have had here in Florida. Made fresh right in front of you. If you do not want a Cuban, there are many other Cuban delicacies waiting for you. Fresh pork dishes, fresh, chicken, dishes, empanadas, and many great side dishes You have to try the stuffed potato. There is also a small selection of beers to be had. Tried to check in... but the app was not cooperating. Oh well! The gent that took my order was very friendly, and the portions are huge.... I ate what I could and took the rest home. Probably another two meals worth, wow! The roast pork is really good, very tender and has the wonderful flavor that mojo criollo imparts. The rice and beans were good, and lot of them! Th e plantains were perfect, tender and nicely sweet. I had asked for some chicharron (crispy pig skin) with my meal and they gave me a very generous portion as can be seen in the picture I took. Never heard of this place until today. We were visiting the Russian Deli and needed a place to grab lunch. Decided to stop in to see what they had. It's Hispanic food and you could smell the goodness upon walking inside. Immediately greeted and we were the only customers at that time. Decided to get the picadillo which came with 2 sides and was soo much food. The picadillo was cooking fresh on the stove when we chose it. Mmmm goodness. Nice and fresh. My friend and I decided to just share since the amount of food was so much. Decided on green beans and rice for the sides. Got back to the office and split it up. Wow was this good!! Soo full of flavor. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was so good and the lunch was under $10 which was cheap for the amount of food and the freshness. We were in the Tampa area on business and found this adorable place close. BOY were we happy to find this. First- the food was AMAZING! Great selection of hot foods, sandwiches, and pastries all fresh, yummy with good-sized portions. The owner not only made recommendations and served us, he came around to chat and we felt as if we'd been customers for years. The price was spot on and we even took a meal to go. Mandy probably the most competitive in price for the restaurant on their shopping plaza. Food not the top notch but decent for the price you have paid. The take out I have has big portions to be able to share. It Latin cuisine with Cuban background was great for the patrons. We have the roast pork for to go. My wife saw the pork skin and ask if we could have some, it was added bonus when they give us the big piece. If the roast pig skin saw by Philippine residents, it will be gone first. Although I am not Philippine, but I like it because they crispy and nice. My dish come with rice. The rice may need a bit work to completely cook. We also has plantain which is sweet and tasty. Wow. Wow. Wow. My mother was a missionary to Cuba 60 years ago before Fidel took over. She came to visit and said all I want is authentic Cuban food. On simply a whim and stressed about traffic we turned in here. Honest the outside gives you the expectation of just another strip mall disappointment.
