Had a fantastic stay at MO Prague from July 13 to 16. Wonderful location and legendary MO service. Irina and Martin were especially gracious and took great care of us. Appreciate the location only mins from Charles River Bridge, but not in the crazy tourist-filled midst of Old Town. Had breakfast at MO all three days and it was wonderful. It was so good and filling that we only ate one meal (dinner) on days of our trip. My wife had a massage at the spa and loved it. read more

This is by far one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and is superb in every way. The location is just a few minutes from the famous bridge and old town with east access to trams and some close by metro stations. You are welcomed immediately by very friendly staff who make the check in process pleasant. The hotel is a former a monastery and has amazing architecture with some rooms even featuring the original ceiling! The rooms are very large and very comfortable overall. You have a wardrobe to hang your clothes as well as a very nice dresser and large desk. The bed is very comfortable, didn't want to get out of it! The bathroom is very nice with a large bathtub/shower and heated towel rack. It also had a double sink as well. The gym was very nice with a great selection of free weights and a cable machine for a variety of exercises. The breakfast here is delicious and features both hot options as well as a buffet of cold selections. I was surprised with some sweets in my room as well I arrived! I would definitely come back here again for business or leisure. read more

Dear Mandarin Oriental, you had me at hello. As my first visit to the brand, you made me a customer for life in my first hour of my stay. I've sampled several 5 star brands in the last year and this visit was high on the list. You're greeted with a warm towel at check in and I loved that they asked about booking the spa (which I had already done). What was great was the front desk then reviewing the etiquette (e.g. you can wear a robe/slippers down), which was super helpful and always a question I have in mind when I visit a new hotel. There is also an atm on level -1 which was very convenient when first arriving to Prague. I was welcomed graciously to my room with a gift and lovely note celebrating my reason for my stay and had some delicious chocolates, fruit, champagne, and even rose petals & bath salts waiting for me. It was very much appreciated and made my stay feel extra special. The staff service is impeccable, they make it a point to know your name. The concierge/guest services were very responsive and offered great info for visiting the Christmas markets. Housekeeping was also fantastic. It was like they swooped in as soon as you left the room so you weren't disturbing their cleaning upon your return or return to a messy room. Dining services and room service staff were also attentive and friendly. Speaking of the room, I booked a standard room and it was very spacious. I was worried it might be loud as I could hear phones ringing in other guest rooms, but as soon as you shut the bedroom door there was near perfect silence. Every time I thought to myself I wish I had xyz, I'd look around the room and it was there - although now I can't remember what those things were, lol. Pretty much every need was met and anticipated which is the best part of staying at a luxury hotel. The bathroom was also great, spacious and offering a bidet. I'm visiting in December and those constant heated floors were * chef's kiss. Every time I walked into the bathroom, my feet did a happy dance. I even loved the big towels. They also have full size diptyque products available. I loved that they provided a hand sanitizing spray as well. Ohhh the spa was amazing. They have a delicious green tea to welcome you and I seriously just want to buy it to have at home! I booked the 2 hour deep sleep massage and it was fabulous. I'm having trouble remembering my masseuse's name now, but she was awesome. She was intuitive and provided the perfect pressure. I will be dreaming about this massage for a while and even considered going back again to see her! If you're considering booking a stay, sign up to be a fan of MO. Even with this being my first stay, it provides benefits on par with Marriott gold status- which is really a phenomenal standout to the brand. They want to make you a repeat customer. You can pick 2 amenities and the list is great (free breakfast, fast wifi, and a room upgrade are on the list), along with others. I noticed there were some comments on other reviews regarding dining. I felt the offered breakfast buffet was sufficient. Yes, you have to pay more if you want to order an eggs Benedict but this makes sense to me. Omelets are included. Don't miss the mango smoothie (about $4). I also had dinner and a drink at Spices. The bao buns were tasty and I thought the shrimp pad Thai was just okay. It would be nice if the full menu was offered for room service and eventually expanding the service back to 24 hours. There was a night I fell asleep at 8pm and had to raid the mini bar when I woke up at 3. Jet lag is real ‍. Overall I would be delighted to return and would highly recommend this hotel to other guests. While I didn't see any celebs, they have been known to frequent the location as well. read more

First off, love that we got the third night free! Big shout out to Tomas for helping us book The Tale of the Marionette tour. This was my wife and Imy favorite part of our trip to Prague. We did eat at the Spices restaurant on the property and it was okay. We were supposed to get a private dining room but it wasn't very private, really just an alcove of the restaurant near the bar. We didn't like that certain parts of the breakfast menu did not come with our "breakfast included" as part of our benefits program. Our room was delightful, clean, and had a beautiful chandelier. It was supposed to be an upgrade from our original reservation, but seemed a bit small. The staff was helpful, especially getting our money back from the money exchange machine in the basement. They promptly resolved the issue with the company that day. Great stay for us! read more

If you're looking for the best customer service and accommodations in the city, you need to book the Mandarin Oriental. The hotel is a beautiful former monastery located in the Old Town on a quiet side street. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a glass of champagne, a warm towel, and an upgrade to a suite. Mind you, I have zero status with this brand and am in town for work. Andre and the rest of the team behind the front desk were incredibly friendly and really passionate about taking care of me. They took care of everything between the upgrades, last-minute work requests, and morning takeaway coffee. I never had to ask twice or even wait longer than 5 minutes. They.simply.crushed.it. I also want to take a second and call out the Bar staff and Eduardo and David in particular. They stayed passed closing time multiple nights to support our team while we were working late. They make killer craft cocktails and are two of the most charismatic people on the staff. Which is really saying something considering they're ALL happy and engaging. Amazing!! Just beyond impressed with the exceptional service and quality this hotel offers. Did I mention service? The staff here are amazing!!! Very friendly and accommodating!! We are currently staying at the hotel and I'm writing this review only after our first night. We will be here for the next two nights and I have no complaints at all. We are traveling with a toddler and it's very family friendly. They even set up a little gift for my child and put cornerguards on the furniture and anti slip pads in the shower. I've stayed at Mandarin's both in the US and Europe and this my friends was no Mandarin. The location is fine, but kind of out of the way just a bit. You pull up and there is no 'zen' like other MOs, could have been a Westin or a Conrad. I booked a decent room (i.e. not the low tier) but it was pretty basic and small. It opened up to the courtyard except the door was broken so it didn't really open. Housekeeping was fine but no water or perks that make the MO the MO. People at the front desk were very nice and helpful but the property doesn't live up the standards of the other MOs. It wasn't terrible or anything but it was a big disappointment. read more

I just wrapped up a 9 day stay at this location. In many aspects, this hotel is deserving of 5 stars while there are a few flaws that keep them at a solid 4 star. The people are extremely nice, well trained and most speak English. A few staff members stood out as exceptional including David, Edorardo, Katherine and Tony. These employees along with a few more that I can't remember their names, really went the extra mile. This historic property is well cared for and is extremely quiet. It is nestled behind a gate but it is in a great location close to everything and in particular the entrance to the Charles bridge which is fabulous. My negative takeaways are very few but was enough to drop it to 4 star. The room doors did not have deadbolts or other looks to keep anyone with a faculty master from entering as you sleep. The overall accommodations were missing some of the polish and amenities of a 5 star. There is no pool for example which would have been a great feature to this ultra exclusive hotel. There wasn't a store for essentials that is typically found in any higher end hotel. The breakfast buffet was good (all food served at the hotel was excellent) but consisted of the same items daily. A little variety would go a long way. An omelette bar would have been a great addition. I travel enough to have enjoyed the extras and when they are not present, you notice. I definitely recommend this hotel as I truly enjoyed my stay. The location, the staff, the history of this property make this hotel a winner. It sounds ridiculous to say this, but as a former monastery, this is probably the most peaceful hotel I've ever visited. It's really beautiful, the staff are top notch (no check-in deck for Mandarin Oriental customers; you simply sign paperwork after you're personally escorted to your room), and the layout is quirky but works within the confines of an ancient structure. It's perfectly located, right on the old town, so very easy to walk around. They offer umbrellas in case of bad weather and are very kind and welcoming upon your return. The bar is a bit small but works ok - it could be more comfortable. The breakfast was perfectly nice but nothing too special. I only spent one night here but really liked it. PS Our bathroom was terrific (both a tub and a shower)! read more

This hotel looked beautiful, mostly because Prague itself is beautiful but the service and staff outweighed the scenery. My review concerns hotel SPA only. Service - 5 Facilities - 3 The SPA is located in the separate, adjacent, building. The receptionist informed us it was a chapel centuries ago. I have to admit, it was an interesting concept to turn former place of worship into a hedonistic pleasure venue. While overall level of service was great, I was left with the impression that facilities and overall access was not well thought through. The reception desk is right by the entrance door. The main area is a huge hall (it was a church, remember?) Guests are greeted and seated near by. Shoes are replaced with sleepers and forms are filled out by the guests. Every time entrance door is opened, there is a noticeable cold draft. Weather in Prague can be rather chilly. Guests are then shown to the changing rooms (m/f). The rooms are SMALL. There are 6-7 lockers with bathroom/shower but I seriously doubt more than a single person can fit it. I suppose guests are expected to take turns but that's rather inconvenient. Upon changing into bathrobes walk to the lounge relaxation zone waiting for the therapist. Again, the relaxation zone is in the same hallway so the same cold draft...not very relaxing after all. There is no ambient light, sound is loud and travels through the hallway. Therapist escorts guest downstairs to the room. Two words - artificial candle light. Unless there is some kind of municipal restriction, I see no reason Mandarin Oriental would be using battery-operated candles. The service itself was solid and in the top 5 on my list. In the end, I only rate facilities at 3 because of the price SPA charges for its services yet price/quality ratio isn't where one would expect it to be at the hotel with such name. read more
