I stayed here during my Euro Vaca back in the summer of 2014 with my boyfriend. We had visited Berlin beforehand and traveled to Prague by train. Let me start off by saying that this is by far the nicest hotel I have ever been to. EVER. I've traveled quite a bit, and have been lucky enough to have stayed in some very nice, 5-star hotels. But Hotel Aria takes the cake. It's a small boutique hotel; a gem in Prague! The theme of Hotel Aria is music. The keys are in the shape of G clefs; even your "do not disturb sign" has Beethoven on it. When you first check in, you'll be offered a tour of the grounds (along with a glass of champagne) which you can take right there or any other time during your stay. There's a bar upstairs on the rooftop, which we did not go to. We opted out of the tour as we were tired from the trip, and unfortunately did not get another opportunity to take it. When you first check into your room, you'll notice a nice plate of chocolates and fruit on the table. The room is BEAUTIFUL. Carpets, lavish rugs, and the biggest, most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! The bathroom is huge with a his and hers shower. There's a desk and computer you can use, but also free Wifi. The room is overall rich, very different from the more business-like atmosphere I'm used to in hotels. The next time I go to Prague, I'm definitely staying at this hotel again!

The champagne upon check-in in the lobby beautifully decorated for Christmas was such a perfect welcome. Being so close to Charles Bridge and the Malostranska subway stop made getting around very easy. And yet the hotel was quiet. Caution exiting the hotel driveway through! Look both ways. The staff at breakfast were fantastic and took great care of us. We enjoyed the buffet most days but the menu items looked delicious. We enjoyed our free beer sample and a cocktail at the bar in the Refectory. Our only complaint would be that the room was warm for our taste and we couldn't quite figure out how to get the A/C on (or if it was an option). The bathroom was especially warm, we called it "the spa" We slept with the windows open and all was well. If you're looking for a luxury stay, you can't do much better.

Americans, who have never seen the kind of coffee makers they have in the room might need orientation to prepare coffee correctly. The restaurant is very good with one glaring exception: at breakfast, fried eggs ordered "over easy" are always burnt. If you order them over-easy, they're burnt on both sides. If you explain to the waiter that the eggs should not be cooked quickly on such high heat, and then he goes to the kitchen and has the cook do your "over-easy" eggs again, the eggs will still be burnt on one side, but not on the other. It's amazing that a luxury hotel this great in so many ways cannot hire a breakfast chef to adequately cook fried eggs! As they are perpetually doomed to fail with fried egg orders, I recommend you order the poached, egg and salmon breakfast item instead, since for some strange reason, they actually do know how to make poached eggs.

The location was also excellent with easy access to many different public transport choices just around the corner. We could be anywhere in the city center in just a few minutes. I booked three nights through Groupon for a very reasonable price, considering the hotel's excellent location in one of the most visited cities in Europe (LOVE Praha!). I emailed them several times - once to confirm the reservation and another time about ordering an airport shuttle service. Every time they responded quickly, taking care of my request in a prompt manner. As weary travelers, we were greeted at the hotel with a warm hello and detailed description of the amenities and services offered. We took the opportunity to go on a walking tour of the city with one of the hotel employees, Vaclav, who was enthusiastic and super friendly. The hotel is located in Prague 5, within walking distance of Old Town. It's very close to Mala Stranna and there's a tram stop just a few minutes away. The building itself is old, but is tastefully decorated and our dwelling bathroom had been completely remodeled. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the hotel restaurant served very good traditional food.
