This hotel is really special. Its on the grounds of an 800 year old monastery and brewery. The hotel is very well maintained. The rooms are very comfortable. If you are a hyatt globalist or have a upgrade certificate to burn, then the breakfast is an outstanding benefit. They have a sumptuous full breakfast buffet. This hotel is walking distance to the castle. Along the 22 street car line. Uber is reasonable too. On the same site with the hotel is the monastery grounds with a museum, church, brewery, 3 restaurants, including one in a cave! As well as outstanding scenic views from the grounds. The staff are outstanding kind and helpful especially Yohanis and Bjorn. Overall, this hotel is a great place to stay if you want to see the sights on the castle side of the river. The hotel site itself is interesting.

The hotel initially seems to be far from everything, almost by itself in a quaint little village with a private entrance. Once you start walking, you realize you have your own private space but are opened up to all of the beautiful scenery being situated so high and for a downhill walk, only about 15 minutes from St Charles Bridge with countless cafe houses, souvenir shops, places to stop in for a bite along the way. This hotel is in a perfect location! The breakfast is delicious with a lot of choices. If you ask, they'll even make an omelet. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Only complaint is the 1/4 shower door, poor water pressure, and door chain lock is difficult. Out of all of our hotels from Budapest and Vienna, this one is our favorite. We hope to visit here again! Thank you.

Cool entry and exit way.

Nice lunch in the castle complex. Nothing too fancy or exciting. But you can get decent soup with a small sandwich.

Our first stay will NOT be our last! Dinner at restaurant…read morewas wonderful, wine offerings great and service was impeccable. Rooms are spacious and spaced out along a wide hallway. They are cleaned daily with great care to detail. Service - excellent in every way. Front desk was always pleasant and helpful. Michal the chief concierge was AMAZING and helped us in many ways, including exceptional restaurant recommendations. It is peaceful and serene and yet a short walk to the Charles Bridge and up the hill to Prague Castle. We took the once weekly tour of the adjacent monastery with one of the resident monks and it is NOT TO BE MISSED. In short, if you are going to Prague you should not want to spend that stay anywhere else but the Augustine

Truly a luxurious place to stay. Absolutely beautiful, fantastic service, prime location, exquisite…read morecomfort. What more could you want? The champagne upon check-in in the lobby beautifully decorated for Christmas was such a perfect welcome. Being so close to Charles Bridge and the Malostranska subway stop made getting around very easy. And yet the hotel was quiet. Caution exiting the hotel driveway through! Look both ways. The staff at breakfast were fantastic and took great care of us. We enjoyed the buffet most days but the menu items looked delicious. We enjoyed our free beer sample and a cocktail at the bar in the Refectory. Our only complaint would be that the room was warm for our taste and we couldn't quite figure out how to get the A/C on (or if it was an option). The bathroom was especially warm, we called it "the spa" We slept with the windows open and all was well. If you're looking for a luxury stay, you can't do much better.

Yep, this is a very charming old school European hotel. Our room was a triple and it had very high…read moreceilings with older, but functional furniture. The room included a safe and frig and it was quite roomy. There are a few standouts here... The Lesser Town location is ideal if you want to be in the "real" Prague - away from the maddening tourist crowds. Then, there's the rooftop terrace which is a great hangout during the evening or between 3-5 PM when free tea and snacks are served. The front desk gal, Marcela, was truly the nicest person we met during our entire stay in Prague. Her English is excellent and it was refreshing to actually have a genuine conversation with a Czech as many of the locals prefer to not socialize with us tourists. She's a real gem and she's also a valuable resource for local info. Finally, there's the breakfast here which is simply wonderful with many different and interesting types of food included. The coffee is superb as well All said, Hotel Julian is a great "off the beaten path" choice with easy access to the city tram system making exploring Prague an easy matter.

The location was also excellent with easy access to many different public transport choices just around the corner. We could be anywhere in the city center in just a few minutes. Best of all, the service was outstanding. Such nice people. Special acknowledgement to Marcela for making our stay so enjoyable.
