I don't go out at Ottawa during night time when I visit,so this technically counts as my first. I was invited here by a person I met online, and the place is exactly fits its description:
Cozy, cheerful Middle Eastern community restaurant [owner is Moroccan] with sort-of night-out environment (has a dance floor) that has its own patrons most of the time.
We went there during Thursday night and place was relatively empty, as I was told. Saturdays is the most popular day, and as they have belly dances that day. So if you wanna enjoy it at its best, I recommend going on Saturday!
I didn't try food that day as I wasn't hungry, but they serve Halal food as well. From what I saw, it seemed pretty fresh.
The staff is very nice and polite, fluent more in French I would say, but nevertheless I got I wanted: 3 cans of Sparkling water, a glass of whiskey and a grape-mint hookah, and paid around 40 CAF. I was satisfied with everything except the fact that they served hookah with easy-light coals [not a fan of those, as they are usually more harmful that traditional charcoals.] Note: you can smoke hookah inside, but not cigarettes.
Music sometimes gets loud, so it gets hard to hear what other person is saying, but otherwise the hygiene and atmosphere of the place is pretty neat & clean.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience for a newbie in the town, and I definitely recommend going if you are fan of Middle Eastern & North African cuisine/tradition/community.
