Although there wasn't anyone dining in they were constantly cooking in the back as there were pick ups and delivery folks constantly coming in and out. Got the food home. The fried rice was good. The first bite of pad Thai had a strong hit of fish sauce so I squeezed the lime all over it and it took it down a few notches. It was really good after that. So far the best Thai place I've found in the Kaiserslautern area.

The service is pretty quick but my last visit the waitress didn't care to ask me how spicy I wanted my pad Thai and ended up with 0 spice. Partially my fault as I could also remind her but it is usually asked. Ambiance is casual and they take cash or card!

Authentic Thai joint in Mehlingen…read more.. We lived in the area 15 years ago, so naturally we had to stop back at Khao Lak while visiting. Still the same great Thai place... The owners and staff are the same and the food is still outstanding (and reasonably priced). Love their Thai salads and chicken wings because they're on the lighter side. Worth the drive from Kaiserslautern or the surrounding villages.

It's not a large restaurant but the one person taking orders and serving was certainly harried. All the other patrons were German but she flipped between German and English easily so ordering was not a challenge. She was very nice. The dishes were large and a bit sweeter than we like, but they did taste good otherwise. We must have done fine because I have no pictures to share!

I asked for something extra spicy and he, along with the cooks tried to please my taste buds. Mongolian beef was good, wasn't fatty like most Chinese places. Rangoon was crispy and had better texture than most Wife had...Chang's chicken I think it was and liked it. Said it wasn't overly sweet like a lot of fast food Chinese places. Another plus about both of our meals is that it wasn't swimming in sauce.

To be honest the corner store at some locations taste way better than this place in my opinion. CHICKEN AND LETTUCE- this appetiser tasted pretty ok but I was not impressed. this is a messy situation and definitely not at all a date plater so if you are here to impress the date do not order this. STEAK FRIED RICE - omg this went to the trash as soon as I got home. the rice is overcooked the egg is pretty much non existent and the salt is nowhere to be found, this is blend, tasteless and to be honest I did not think the amount of steak added was worth 3 dollars. what a huge disappointment is this place just avoid it, you can find much better food elsewhere for a lot cheaper.

The restaurant itself still looks the exact same, the sweet little Korean lady (aka the mama-san) is still running the joint, and the service and food is still outstanding. We used to eat here multiple times a month in another life, so it was great to get back again.

They do take reservations as well, we did not and had seating. Appetizers were great, yaki-mondu and crispy wings. Had beef bulgogi, served on a searing plate and with all the typical sides of a Korean restaurant. Kimchi was served chilled and very crunchy and tasty. Served in Korea for a year years ago, and this place was right on par with what I had gotten over there! The staff was very attentive, booths and tables were great and the bathroom was clean, always a good sign showing a place takes care of the "whole" place. Here for another week and going back again before leaving for an Okdal Bi Bambap (sp) hot bowl next!!! Give it a try, won't be disappointed. Ask for Tanya, great service!
