Manatee beach was a true oasis: free parking, short walk to the beach from parking lot and soft white sand and turquoise blue water. The chairs and umbrella rentals were affordable and anywhere you setup was a great view of the ocean. A restaurant and bar are onsite to satisfy your hunger cravings. The rip tides were high and the lifeguards kept warning people but they were content to take their chances. A great beach that's not too big or small.

It's our home sand. Parking is a perpetual challenge so early in off season or pre-sunrise in season (or after 5pm) Great little restaurant and bar, with chaises and umbrellas available for a hefty price. Service at the bar a d restaurant are great...not so with chair service. The whole coast is lined with top notch beaches so its hard to go wrong. We love it here.

Great beach, great sand, great people, great time!

Went to the beach for a week straight and LOVED IT! Did not mind making the hour drive. We loved the kids slides and swings sets, these were a hit with my 3 littles! Such a good time!!!

I have been wanting to get to Manatee Beach since Raegan L. posted her photos and review! We finally got to go today. Manatee Beach is on gorgeous Anna Maria Island. This is a beautiful beach. The weather was lovely. Soft island breezes, warm sun and beautiful blue water. The sand is made of shells ground down by time and people. You can still find shells but I prefer to leave them for the future. There is a nice cafe where you can sit and see the water. It allows you to have a bite and not leave. There is also a Tiki Bar that serves beer and blended drinks. You are not allowed to take alcohol to the beach but there are so many lovely places to sit and enjoy. We had the fresh made lemonade-delicious but really sweet!! We added water to drink it. The only bad thing that day was the Red Tide. There is a sign on entrance (photo posted) about the Red Tide. Sad to see. Some who brought chairs got close to others with chairs. I will definitely be back to Manatee County Beaches on Anna Maria Island!

Anna Maria== the place to be!! I've mentioned in some of my other reviews, I absolutely love the island of Anna Maria, it's fantastic!! But for some reason, I've hardly been to Manatee Beach on AMI, which is odd for anyone who knows the area because it's the main and largest public beach there. I prefer Bean Point, which is the north tip of the island and far less busy. But Manatee Beach is no slouch, in fact, it's completely amazing in its own respect. Soft and delicious white sand, miles of beach, and the most insanely clear blue/green/turquoise water: the beach of any sane persons dreams! You can find some good shells if you have the right eye, I found a whole sand dollar on my last visit. There's also a lovely sand bar to swim out to, it's a good distance but not too crazy far. Thought I'd be wary of going out because in my last visit, I had the craziest, most unforgettable experience: a great white shark (a good 12 footer, no baby shark) waltzed into the sandbar chasing after a tarpon, which he did eventually catch and make a big bloody mess of. It was so cool but equally frightening. But hey, a beach is a piece of nature so you have to watch out for the locals of the sea anytime you go to any sort of beach. And since Manatee is a large public beach they do have lifeguards who look out for that sort of thing and warn you (like they did with the shark). Manatee does have a large cafe/restaurant/gift shop/ bathrooms building right on the beach too. There's changing stalls and rinse stations and a very large and FREE parking lot. Also trolleys that take you to various spots around the island. All very convenient- just keep an eye out for those hungry sharks! ;)

This is a great family beach that has wheelchair access picnic tables and a fair amount of parking as well as lifeguards in a snack shop. you have to be aware that it's going to be busy and plan accordingly all the beaches on this key generally known as Anna Maria island are really great

    Super clean sand.

This is the text book perfect public beach that you picture in your head. Very clean, easy to get to, and has facilities. Food and drink, showers, bathrooms, and a little gift shop. This place has chairs and umbrellas available to rent. Had a great time here.

    Great sunsets, music & food

It was an hour plus drive south from my friends house in Gulfport to Anna Maria Island. Bean Point is the north point of the island. Be cautious if you park in a neighborhood as they will ticket you $75 if your car is touching the road. We find out the hard way:( We walked a few blocks and found a public beach access. When I saw the beach I couldn't believe my eyes. The water was a gorgeous color of blue/green! It was hard to belive this was Florida lol. We walked for a while and I found some pretty shells to take home from my adventure. This part of the beach wasn't too crowded which I loved. A few people were fishing and others were sitting and relaxing. While a few tourists were in the water. Brrrr it was too cold for me. I only let it hit my feet lol. I highly recommend checking out Bean Point Beach so you can see this lovely water and beach for yourself!

The moment my feet hit that soft white sand, everything around me slowed down. The air felt lighter. The water looked like it was painted in layers of turquoise and glass. Even the breeze seemed to move with intention, brushing past me in a way that made me feel completely present. I kept walking, almost in a trance, toward the point where the Gulf meets the sky, and for the first time in a long time, my mind wasn't racing. I wasn't thinking about tomorrow or yesterday. I was just there, breathing in a place that felt almost sacred. Then the sun began to set, and the entire sky transformed into something unreal. Pink, lavender, gold, and that deep blue that only shows up at the ocean's edge. Families were laughing softly in the distance, a couple was wrapped in a blanket, and I just stood there taking it all in, feeling this unexpected wave of emotion. It wasn't sadness or joy exactly. It was gratitude. Pure, uncomplicated gratitude that I got to witness a moment like that. Bean Point felt like a gift, handed to me exactly when I needed it. I cherish this place so much. I will be back again and again.

The waves were minimal, and there were so many fish swimming around us the whole time! I counted three different schooling fish species and a few crabs, which were unusually easy to spot because of how crystal clear the water is. I do want to note that we couldn't fins any public trash cans, showers, and bathrooms. It ended up wasting our water bottle reserves and probably led to spending more money at businesses that had these amenities than we would've otherwise. Options for surrounding businesses are limited and pricey. For instance, the only pizza place within walking distance is great if you can afford $20+ average-sized pies. There's also only one beachside bar along this stretch of beach access that has a long wait time and doesn't list cocktail prices on their menu. Parking is slim, but a lot of it is free if you park on gravel roadsides. Since it has always been extremely windy when I've visited, I definitely suggest firmly anchoring any tents or umbrellas. Also bring materials to hold down blankets and towels. They don't allow alcohol on these beaches, so also keep that in mind when packing your coolers. All in all, this beach is a must-see!

As others have noted in their reviews, Ken and Jeff are constantly working to keep up this lovely family resort. It is clean and landscaped beautifully, and the rooms are just right! With a sitting area in our two bedroom, we enjoyed the recliner and couch as we watched movies in the evening. In our full kitchen, we stocked the refrigerator from the local Publix and made our breakfast and lunch, which we packed for the beach. Many guests chose to grill out as we saw when we would load up to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we preferred eating out! On our first night at Hurricane Hanks restaurant down the road, we met up with a resident who offered us more ideas for restaurants for dinner. There's nothing like walking right out onto the beach to spend a morning watching the waves, seeing dolphins frolic, observing osprey catching their breakfast, and swimming in the water among schools of fish. Many of the guests knew each other from yearly vacations, and we have already made our reservation for next year! Anna Maria Island is quiet and family friendly. White Sands Resort offers shuffleboard and corn hole right next to the pool, but the best show is the sunset. On our first night, we were surprised to see how many lined the beach to see God's beauty, of course clapping at the end! Thank you to Ken, Jeff, Joy, and Esther for a wonderful stay. We wish you the best in the coming year, and we look forward to seeing you again!
