My father died of unfortunately tragic circumstances in early August. I contacted Griffith Cline,…read morebecause they were the funeral home we worked with when my father's wife passed. The funeral director who met with us chastised me for not having my Dad's SSN, and all of his parents' info in hand when we met with him. 16 hours earlier I had just signed the forms that would turn off my father's life support, so I found this somewhat disturbing. The funeral director also advised that he'd secure a pastor (and charged me for the pastor's time up front). This was on a Monday - he was quick to get my credit card swiped. By Wednesday no pastor had apparently been contacted. Fortunately I have a great relative who found one in a pinch for us. We ultimately had to request a new funeral director given the attitude of the first one. (I could spend more time on this person's attitude, but won't here). It also turns out that he got my name wrong on the death certificates. And now I'm being charged for the revisions, which will take weeks to get done. I'll find the time tonight to place at least 3 positive reviews to offset this one, but for a service whose customers are the bereaved, they seem to have an interesting way of handling these customers.

My dad passed away August 30th and we were told it would take 8 weeks to have his plaque created…read moreand installed. Months go by and I reach out to them - they LOST the photo, lost the instructions... we provide another photo and instructions - another several weeks to get a proof and it's wrong - with only name and DOB/DOD and where to place, you'd think they could get it right. Finally have the proof approved and we're told ANOTHER 2 weeks to receive. I AGAIN have to follow up - oh it arrived this week, give us 7 days to install and we'll contact you. 10 days later, I've reached out AGAIN - it is now nearly 8 MONTHS later. Their incompetence is alarming. I wish we had requested to be there when they placed his body in the mausoleum - if they can't get a simple digital plaque ready... Incredibly poor customer service!!!

Exceptional service from start to finish! Ask for Meghan! I am writing this review with the highest…read morerecommendation! My family recently used Groover Funeral Home and couldn't be more grateful for the great service they provided. Specifically, I want to recommend Meghan!!! There is no amount of money that can pay her for the attentiveness, compassion, love, and care that she showed my family during the most difficult time that we had to face. Promote and retain Meghan at all costs as she is an invaluable asset to this team!! Meghan treated us as if she was providing service for her own family and I will forever remember and be grateful for her kindness and assurance that she would take care of our loved one that was in her care. Great communication throughout the entire process. Meghan made herself available to talk to us if needed and was very patient with all our questions and request. If you are in need of someone to take care of your family needs during the transition of a loved one! Ask for Meghan, she will absolutely provide a service like no other! Ask for Michelle for the cemetery portion she was exceptional as well. The compassion and attentiveness that my family received from Michelle was exceptional. She was very informative and ensured we understood exactly what was needed throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond with constant communication. Michelle was gentle and compassionate while helping us to navigate cost and what was needed for the burial portion. I cannot say enough about the love we felt working with this team! Ask for Michelle she will take care of you and your family like she would her own.

Throughout the service people were told to make it quick. Does any one have a quick story: in sharing antedotes about the deceased. At the end of the service one grim faced employee stood up and announced that it was the end of the service and you should exit if you've already said your condolences. Wow. Really. The other thing I found disturbing is when you come into the funeral "home" you walk through a hall and past a large room that is set up like a gift shop. The room was full of Urns and Caskets and other various funeral items. How very tasteless.
