We loved the garlic rosemary sourdough bread! It made great toasted cheese sandwiches!

Keep in mind this review is coming from an ex donut shop management type person who was taught the fine art of donut-Ing from a master..... The place itself was very clean. The display added 5lbs to my behind the moment I walked in the door. The gentleman behind the counter welcomed me and immediately made me feel at home. He was very patient while I picked and chose (something I never mastered) and knew the meaning of a "bakers dozen". Having read the past yelps I HAD to get a cream filled. It was perfect. Apparently that situation was corrected. The lines in the center of raised donuts will tell if the donuts "proofed" (raised) enough, too much, etc. the "proof lines" were perfect... So I knew I was getting a nice fluffy texture without soaked grease like the grocery store donuts. Okay TMI. I also witnessed an act of compassion and community that I will not go into detail about... Let's just say it blew me away. Buy donuts here. You will not be disappointed.

There was some inventory overflow and no seats taken but it's a homie spot. The variety of donuts on display did not fill the case completely but the menu showed a vast variety. I didn't see any blueberry cake (top 3 in donuts I love) so I chose one I've never heard of - vanilla coconut custard bar. I also love a good coconut donut and who can ever pass up a custard filled bar?! Not me! Typical bar donut but topped with vanilla icing & coconut flake stuffed with vanilla custard. First bite was delectable and sweet. I plowed through that donut in just a few greedy bites and wish I had ordered more. Next time around I will give the old fashioned and a cake donut a try.

Even more impressed at all the fresh baked bread and the reasonable prices. The deli is amazing and they carry many international items that chain grocery stores do not carry. There's also another Marvel location in Auburn. Ironically, this is across the street from Saar's, another large international market. I made the trek back on 3/1/25. I was very impressed with the organized, well stocked variety of goods. I've become quite fascinated with international and ethnic centric markets. It was quite enjoyable slowly wandering each aisle. I ended up focusing on breads, kvass, smoked and canned meats, cheeses, soup bases, ajvar, chocolates, and biscuits....before I knew it my cart was getting a bit full! Pro tip: bring a cooler to keep your perishables safe on lengthy treks. There are comparable but smaller shops in North Seattle, Shoreline, Lynnwood, and Everett. But if you're in Tacoma/South Sound, this is a great detour for Eastern European groceries and culinary fans!

I found on Yelp that Volcano coffee was within 5 minutes of my location. This was definitely a random visit which turned into a wonderful one. Upon my entry, I was greeted with a cheerful "Good Morning " by one of the ladies (employee/possibly owner) and had made eye contact. I advised it was my first visit and if she didn't mind me taking some updated photos of the business as Yelp had old pictures. She stated "You're more than welcome, let me know when you're ready to order". I thanked her and I would holler. The place was larger than I expected. The building didn't look as big on the outside. I guess I was fooled. LOL! The ambiance was clean, comfortable with cozy lounge furniture and dining tables. There is a Fireplace, however, was not in use as it was warm inside. The Christmas tree was still up. I was advised by one of the ladies that they leave it up and change the theme throughout the year. I thought that was pretty neat. Drive thru is available. After looking through the menu. I opted to order the sausage egg muffin breakfast $6.50. This was good. I also ordered a Masala Chai latte with coconut milk $6.30 (inclusive of up charge $.75). This was recommended by one of the ladies and had claimed it was her favorite drink. I enjoyed this drink very much! I also had a warmed apple fritter $3.05 which was good. The three ladies that were working on that day were so joyful, full of smiles and laughter. I could tell they had great chemistry and enjoyed working there. I believe one of them was the owner. They surely made my morning and my day. I left merrily on my way to run the rest of my errands. I shall be back! =)

I am going to submit an edit with the correct address also. I was once at Volcano Coffee quite a long time ago and it was a fun time. We played cards with a social group we were in and it was a lot of fun. I wanted to come back here and get a refresher on their coffee and their pastries so I swung by here just this past weekend to give them a try. I got their Gold Digger coffee drink which was good! It had chocolate in it and a few other things that resulted in this being a pretty rich coffee drink but it was enjoyable all the same! I also got an Apple Fritter which was pretty good. It was flavorful and satisfying. Perhaps not as fresh tasting as some others I have had in the recent past but no actual complaints to issue really. Service was good and the baristas were always very pleasant and nice to chat with. It was a good experience!
