I've been a member at CrossFit 580 for about 7 months now and have really been enjoying it. I've…read morebeen doing CrossFit for close to 10 years (got hooked when I lived in Hawaii), and after moving to the Tri-Valley area, I had a hard time finding a gym that felt like the right fit. I tried the other CrossFit gyms around Livermore/Pleasanton and honestly became pretty disenchanted with the gym scene out here. I ended up just doing garage workouts for a while, but realized I really missed the community and energy of being in an actual gym environment. I finally decided to check out CF580, and I'm so glad I did because it's easily become my favorite gym in the area. What stands out to me most: - Programming - The workouts are challenging enough that you always leave feeling like you got a solid workout in, but they're also approachable for all fitness levels. - Community - Strong community feel with social events throughout the year, which makes it easy to get to know people outside of class. - Low ego environment - I've been to gyms where the members are not the friendliest, and I think that usually reflects gym ownership/culture. At 580, people are genuinely welcoming. You'll see all fitness levels here, and everyone is supportive and motivating. - Class schedule - Love that they offer Sunday WODs, which not every gym does. The weekday 5am and 6am classes are also great and provide more flexibility. I've also never had issues getting into class or being stuck on a waitlist. - Family friendly - I have two little ones and have brought them with me to class. There's a small weight room in the back where kids can hang out with toys/snacks, and there's even a TV back there to keep them entertained. - Knowledgeable coaches - All the coaches are experienced, friendly, and supportive. My regular coaches are Steve, Brad, and Nicole and they are SUPER! - Great owner - DJ was welcoming and personable from day one. He even comped my first AND second classes so I could really try the gym out before committing. Oh, and he often leaves out fruit every day, which I've never seen another gym do! Such a thoughtful touch. - Military discount - My husband is active duty military, and I really appreciate that they extend the military discount to spouses too. Not all gyms around here offer that, and some don't offer military discounts at all. Overall, I'm really glad I finally found a gym that feels like the right fit. Thanks, DJ and the CF580 team! Appreciate all of you very much!

Pros: -6 Hammer Strength power racks with bumper plates…read more-Friendly staff Cons: -It gets extremely crowded to the point where lines form at the machines, ruining your workout, yet they do not increase their prices to accommodate what the facility can handle. I assume that prices need to be about doubled to get the clientele down to what the facility can handle. -They do not fix or replace machines as needed. They have two smith machines, and one of them sticks to the point where you can't use it for most exercises, so everyone waits in line for the only working smith machine while the other one stays empty. A few of the other machines have the grip coming off which exposes a sticky glue substance which gets on your hands as soon as you start the exercise -They do not bolt the equipment down (including the power racks and benches) so it gets crooked which throws off your lift -They do not provide enough dumbbells for the classes. I do not go to the classes myself, however, when a weight class is about to start, multiple people (around 5-10) will take all of the dumbbells ranging from 5lbs-25lbs from the main gym leaving the gym without those dumbbells for the duration of that class (about an hour)

This gym is honestly just fine. There's not many gyms in Livermore (there's only this one, 24H, and…read moreAnytime Fitness). You kind of get what you pay for. I've never had any negative interactions with the patrons here - definitely a high volume of high schoolers that come in and out of the space. Staff are fine too, they say hi when you come in and bye when you come out. The bathrooms are definitely gross and outdated, and sometimes there's not enough wipes around, but overall it's decent. I ended up deciding to cancel my membership as they installed new blue lights, which are pretty jarring for my eyes.

Mark is excellent at explaining both the theory and practice, so you actually understand what you're doing and how to do it properly. The gym is very well equipped, always clean, and has everything you need for serious and focused training. Mark creates a relaxed but professional atmosphere, and he's easy to work with, always adjusting the sessions to fit where you are and what you need to work on. Since starting with him, I've seen solid gains in strength and technique, and I feel much more confident with every workout. If you want a personal trainer who's knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely committed to helping you improve, Mark is the guy to see.

Let's start with - I highly recommend Mark! I initially started working with him because of some…read moresudden debilitating pain in my leg and some persistent back pain, unsure of the exact cause or whether there were deeper structural issues at play. From the very first session, Mark took a thoughtful and comprehensive approach, carefully assessing my movements and making sure to design a plan that would both relieve my discomfort and build strength around my problem areas. Despite not knowing the full extent of my underlying issues initially, he instinctively knew how to modify exercises and ensure I was progressing in a safe and effective way. What really stands out is his ability to balance professionalism with a light, friendly demeanor. Regardless of how early in the morning our appointments are, the sessions are always approachable and enjoyable, which made sticking to the program so much easier. We're still working on the various aspects of my rehabilitation but I've noticed an improvement in my posture, mobility, and overall back health. In many ways the awareness and the small lifestyle changes I have to make are just as valuable to me since I wasn't ever aware of it before. Like I started this review, I reiterate--Mark's expertise, attentiveness, and positive energy make all the difference.

At 20 minutes it works into my lunch break perfectly, and the workouts are amazing. I have been lifting and doing a CrossFit type workout for 4 1/2 years and I have to say I am more tired (in a good way) after my 20 minutes here than an hour of my other workout. The one-on-one coaching is a huge bonus, plus having a scheduled appointment prevents me from making excuses not to go. The trainers are AMAZING, I alternate between four different ones and enjoy working with them all. They are knowledgeable and push me to do my best every time I go in. While I enjoyed working out at home by myself to avoid the usual Gym issues (crowding, no access to what I want to use), the Exercise Coach has shown me another- better option.

I've seen her be rude about peoples' kids or about accents. My friend and I won the challenge and she was so visibly mad at our weigh-in and walked off because we succeeded. She was not happy for us and it was by no thanks to her that we succeeded. . To top it off she bounced the check she paid my friend with! I recently wished I could revisit there but I know already what she's like. Its unfortunate because everything else about it is good. She has no respect and she is always right. She stalked my Facebook page and saw that I wrote a positive review about another workout class at a local gym and felt it necessary to bring it up to me and talk about the other location negatively. I believe the positive reviews on Yelp are left by individuals that are required to do so in order to get their deposits back from the 6 Week Program. I do not understand how she is still in business. She calls people fat, laughs at them, and refuses to provide modifications. She assumes whatever injury you are explaining is made up.
