I had an amazing CUPPING experience with Noel!…read more I had been skeptical of getting cupping again. My first time was years ago. I was young and never even heard of cupping. Plus the modality wasn't fully explained to me prior to receiving treatment. I finally gave in and agreed to have a session with Noel. It changed my perspective. I think because Noel was thoughtful of my concerns and she wholeheartedly performed the cupping session with care and the intent to provide a healing effect...carefully lol. I am also a massage therapist. I know the benefits of different modalities and etc. What myself and other massage therapists (I've conversed with in this field) agree on, is that Noel is passionate about helping others heal. You can feel it through her work.

Lol Makana is a beautiful soul with knowledge and energy that will have you feeling 10 years younger. Seriously. My first session was 90 minutes and consisted of a cupping session, massage, and stretch. I honestly was just expecting the typical "lay on the table, same massage routine as everyone else". And my expectations were completely wrong. Makana personalizes your experience dependent on existing issues that you're body is experiencing. She even called out a few habits that I have (posture, dehydration, long hours of sitting, etc) before I even told her and explained the treatment and movements she was doing and why. She definitely understands and can observe the variances in the body and will personalize the treatment session to you-- not some cookie cutter massage like from most places on island. The studio is quaint, clean, and private. I've been back multiple times, and she is now my go-to massage/cupping therapist on island! Well worth the drive from Moanalua! TIP: Parking is tricky since the lot is shared with the auto shop. I usually park across the street in the parking lot with the car rental and liquor store.

Room 201 is the waiting room and room 205 is where you go to check in. The receptionist was very kind and friendly. The room where I had my massage was a little sketchy. There was a room divider that split the room. No one was on the other side from what I could hear and I didn't bother to look what was. The walls are paper thin and I could hear the conversation in the next room throughout the duration of my massage. My masseuse was Debi. She was very kind. Her pressure was a little too hard for my liking, but she did a good job. I think my back is bruised, I thought it was going to be a relaxing massage. I guess that's why it's called therapeutic and not spa massage. lol. Not sure if I'll be back soon.

Debbie is AMAZING. Amazing at her job as a massage therapist and also an amazing and kind person…read more I was referred to her by my physical therapist when I was diagnosed with sciatica. It was BAD. Like prescription acute drugs, temporary loss of control of bowel movements, lightning bolts shooting up from your feet and back down, wheelchair-bound for a week BAD. I was a good patient and did all my physical therapy exercises... and decided to go to DLK Massage with Debbie to get some added help. And oh my gardens HELP she did. I couldn't even pinpoint the source of the pain, BUT SHE KNEW. She felt around on my back, pressed down, and said "here?" She pushed down again and I swear it was like a button being pushed off. Holy molie the pain subsided. I swear to this day she is a miracle worker. Of course I kept with my phys therapy regimen because sciatica never really goes away completely. But I kept on going to Debbie!! If you tell her what's tight or what's wrong, SHE KNOWS what to do. Her bedside manner is amazing and gentle as she moves your arms and legs in ways that are not uncomfortable (like how some massage people twist you like a pretzel - not Debbie!) and by doing so she FINDS THE SOURCE of the tightness. Some people think you need someone who cracks your joints, pulls things out of sockets, makes it hurt, etc... But not Debbie. She is surprisingly gentle AND extremely effective. Her fees are VERY reasonable and I always try to pay her more because she deserves a massive tip for what she does. Thank you Debbie!!

I really appreciated not only the massage she gave but the talk we had afterwards where she explained what she sensed in my body, particularly my calves that were super tight. She said that I needed to drink more water and that it was affecting the tightness in my calves. Ever since I went to her I started upping my water intake and it has made a difference. Thank you again! I wish I could go to Debs all the time.

Recently there was an unexpected incident. I had booked 2 appointments two days in advance on the…read moreMassage Envy website. It was the only day I had off that week... and I was really looking forward to a day of relaxation and de-stressing. One was for a 1 hour massage session and one for a 1 hour total body stretch session. I've never tried the total body stretches before and had wanted to try it out to supplement the massage. My main focus that day was the massage. The day before the appointment, ME called and texted me to tell me that the therapist for the total body stretch session had an emergency come up. So the session I booked would need to be rescheduled/ it was canceled. I understand that emergencies happen, so I was chill about it and thanked them for informing me. My massage session was still confirmed, so I was okay. On the day of the massage, I leave the house for my 9am appointment. I'm already en-route when I see a text message from ME at 8:17am. My anxiety skyrocketed. The message notified me that the therapist for the massage had a last-minute medical emergency... I was super disappointed and stressed out, completely the opposite of my plans for that day. I conveyed this through my messages. And discussed what we could do and if there were other massage options. Being on the freeway, it wasn't really viable for me to turn around and go home. I decided to continue until I got to ME to speak with someone in person about what happened. Looking back now, I realize that at the time, I was selfish in worrying only about my own feelings. I hope both therapists are okay. This was the first time I've had my appointments canceled so suddenly in all the years I've been with ME. When I got to the ME around 8:50am, I spoke with Kainoa, the manager. I expressed my frustrations regarding what had happened with the cancellations and felt like I wasted my only day off planning everything. She listened to what I said and was very understanding. Then she offered me solutions. She let me try out complimentary sessions of the Red Light Therapy and Vibroacoustic Massage Treatment. Both of which I've never tried before and were such interesting and positive experiences! The Red Light Therapy uses different wavelengths of red light to go through different layers in the body. It's FDA cleared to temporarily reduce pain in the body and increase blood circulation. Allowing for faster tissue repair, faster recovery, lower blood pressure, and better heart health. It also increases neurotransmitters for a better mood. The machine they have is huge and covers the whole body. There is also a separate panel for the face that can be adjusted. Each side is about 20 minutes, and the machine has a timer that auto turns off when it's time to flip around to the other side. It's like basking in the warm sunshine. Feels like a nice toasty blanket wrapped all around you. I would definitely try this again! The Vibroacoustic Massage Treatment uses low-frequency sound waves around 30 to 120 Hz that are bounced off a chair into the body's cells. Allowing for deeper relaxation of the mind and body. There are headphones that coordinate with the music and sounds. The lights in the room also move and change. And an eye mask that can be put on to massage the temples. This helps with muscle tightness, spasms, fibromyalgia, blood pressure, stress, depression, anxiety, circulation, headaches, migraines, insomnia, asthma, COPD, hypertension, Parkinson's, and it also helps releases pain-relieving endorphins. It's a very relaxing experience, to the point that I almost fell asleep XD Kainoa coordinated to make it possible for me to get the massage I had planned for. I was super duper elated :D Kaui the regional massage therapy trainer did my massage. She is so skilled in massage therapy and the flow of the massage was perfect! She does lomi lomi massage and it was my first time having this type of massage. Very deep tissue. It was the best massage experience I've ever had with ME!!!
