In my 30 years as a real estate investor and manager, I've done over 20 real estate transactions. Philip at Man Realty was among the best (if not the absolute best) agent I've worked with. He's professional, efficient, and responsive. He also knew exactly the correct pricing for our Monterey Park condo. This is a subtle, under-appreciated art. I've had agents pitch me unrealistically high prices to try to get my business. But then the house gets weak responses and goes 'stale'. On the flip side if they price it too low, it encourages an excess of low bids. Philip's pricing was spot on. I could tell immediately from the response: several solid offers on the first weekend, with one 2.5% over the asking price. We took that offer and closed within 2 weeks. No contingencies, no fussy last-minute changes, and no unreasonable repair demands. Exceptional all around... highly recommended. read more

As a first time homebuyer, I was so extremely grateful to have Michelle Hsu as my realtor. First of all, she spent so much of her time trying to find houses that fit my particular criteria. I'm a picky guy, and not once did she give me the feeling that I was being a bother, or being too unrealistic with my demands. For almost a year, we searched for the perfect house, until we finally found one in La Habra that ticked (mostly) all the boxes. During the purchasing process, she used her excellent negotiation skills to get the seller to agree to an aggressive price reduction of about 3%. Furthermore, she was able to get the seller to agree to additional concessions during the inspection process. This was partly due to the fact that the home inspector she works with (Ralph) is extremely thorough and leaves no stone unturned. Because of this, she was able to turn some of the weaknesses we found with the house into bargaining chips. Throughout the entire process, Michelle was so detailed/invested in getting me the best deal/result that it made me feel almost as though she was purchasing my home for herself! As a first time homebuyer, I had a ton of questions but she always got back to me quickly and also came up with a lot of creative solutions/suggestions, highlighting her deep expertise and vast knowledge of the industry. I truly have no complaints - because of Michelle, the entire process went as smoothly as could be. After having her as my buying agent, I'll rest easy knowing that I can be confident in having the best agent on my side going into any future real estate transactions. With Michelle, you are in good hands! read more

Losing a loved one is always tough. Having to sell a home through the time consuming probate process from 400 miles away makes it even tougher. I can't thank Jonathan and Philip from Man Realty enough for the amazing job they did in getting our family's home sold. Jonathan and Philip did it all -- found a reputable company to remove and donate household possessions, got the home professionally cleaned for a very reasonable cost, worked with the HOA to organize all of the traffic, ensured everything was up to code and successfully negotiated a strong offer after two initial buyers pulled out. I reached out to Man Realty based on the reviews and my experience exceeded my expectations. This company is professional, knows the market and will be great partners for you whether you buy or sell, in probate or not. Thank you for helping our family through this tough time! read more

If you're looking for an agent who's not only professional, knowledgeable in the industry, and detailed oriented; Jonathan Hua is very thorough and goes out of his way to ensure your property gets the closing deal you are asking for. My husband and I first used his services back in 2010 when we purchased our first property, and continue to return to him years later because we trust him. When we decided to sell a property in February of 2021, Jonathan kept us updated on all important issues that arose, and gave us potential concerns to be aware of during the entire process. This made me feel he had our best interest at stake and wanted to make sure that we weren't blind-sighted. As a business professional, I needed an agent who was responsive, transparent and proactive. For each viewing (we had over 40), he ensured that the property was in top condition for each viewing; making sure that each potential buyer had the best experience. Needless to say, we found a buyer within the first week, and closed on time without a hitch. Jonathan Hua is the agent you're looking for if you're looking for excellence. read more

After a long, long search, we finally did it! We found the perfect house for us and Catherine helped guide us along the entire way. We started searching for a home back in June. After going to countless open houses and submitting offers after offers only to get out-bidded again and again, Catherine remained patient and encouraged us that it was all part of the experience and the perfect house would soon be ours. She answered every single question and provided us with tons of suggestions and information throughout our entire process. When it came to the end and we finally got our offer accepted on a house, she made sure we were not confused at any step of the purchasing process. I cant thank Catherine enough for everything that she did for us. You wont be disappointed with Catherine and Man Realty! read more

Big, lifechanging events such as buying a first home could be frustrating at times, but Catherine walked us through every step and answered all our questions knowledgeably and patiently. She was everything you could've asked for in an agent! She always responded promptly, even when we texted at odd hours, she jumped and made calls to selling agents immediately whenever she sees an opportunity, she would give her professional opinion but made sure that we were always comfortable with the offer, and most importantly, she fought for us like hell in a seller's market and it finally paid off! We were able to buy a home with confidence through Catherine. And a quick shout out to her intern, Justin, who also helped made this transaction smooth and easy. read more

We were very delighted to have Catherine as our sale agent. Under her guidance , we were able to make this sale a very smooth one. Since this is our first trust sale, we had to depend on her knowledge, professional experience and sound advice Through the entire process. With Catherine's descriptive writeup of the property, we were able to obtain great offers within the first week. We were pleasantly surprised. Catherine was very helpful at all times, made great suggestions, provided valuable information and clarifications at every phase of the transaction. She was also very personal and responsive. Catherine was especially great at calming our anxiety down during the loan phase. She convinced us things will be fine even when it went beyond the extended escrow period. Thanks to Catherine, we were able to sell the house within a very short period and at a much higher than asking price especially under such economic uncertainties with record high interest rate. Also, thanks to Catherine, we even got to learn quite a bit about what a trust sale is. We highly recommend Catherine to anyone who wants a professional on their team. We know we r in capable hands with her on our team. She is definitely a pro in her field. read more

Hello, I wanted to say that it was a pleasure to work with the Mann Realty group.  My agent (Jonathan Hua) came as a recommendation and was excellent throughout the whole process.  My process was a tough one as my home had permits and such that the city was still in the process of approving.  So we were running up against the deadline.  However Jonathan and his team helped guide me through the process and helped make calls to the city for a faster approval. Not only that, but we had many bumps in the road (upset brother for selling the house, lots of repairs...etc.) but the whole time Jonathan and his team worked through each hurdle.  Not your typical "lets hurry and sell" mentality, but actually caring about the whole situation.  He spent a lot of time working with my mom, meeting her at properties to move into before we sold this one, only to keep getting rejected due to her credit.  This was NOT an easy sale for him, but he was patient, thorough, honest and really showed he cared.  The whole team I dealt with at Mann Realty was excellent to work with. Escrow was just as easy (thank you Alina) as the whole process went super smooth (even with my family hiccups). A BIG thanks to Mann Realty, Jonathan and his team Annette Diaz (extremely happy client) read more

My wife and I recently sold our condo and bought a single family home. We decided to go with Man Realty for various reasons including the fact that a nearby single family home listed by Man Realty had sold over asking price within a weekend of being listed. I initially spoke with Phillip over the phone about selling our condo and later met with him in person, and my wife and I felt confident they were the people to go with. We went through their group for both selling our condo and buying our home. Phillip was our selling agent while Catherine was our buyer agent. They worked incredibly hard and effectively to get the job done, and now we're happily living in our new home. Phillip was hands on and worked incredibly hard to get as many potential buyers to view our condo, and I'm certain he negotiated extensively for us. The viewers definitely came and within just a couple weeks of listing we were very pleased with the offers we received. As our buyer agent, Catherine also did an amazing job for us. She really went above and beyond to ensure that we got the best deal possible and really negotiated on our behalf. She made it a priority to show us homes and really worked around our schedule especially considering we went through the process with our newborn. Thank you, Phillip and Catherine! read more

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Catherine Chen to purchase our first home. Catherine played an instrumental role in assisting us in the homebuying process. My wife and I are first time homebuyers and although had some familiarity in the area, we did not know much about the process itself. Catherine immediately helped us feel at ease from the first meeting, where she came prepared with several listings on short notice and arranged for visits the same weekend. She was attentive, communicative, and responsive during the entire process and made herself available from start to finish. We really appreciated her attention to detail, in one instance, she had printed a copy of a contract in advance of a review and had gone through it beforehand to let us know of any unusual disclosures included. We felt confident with her guidance and would not hesitate to recommend her to a friend, colleague, or family member. The outcome was a home my wife and I were very happy with, met our needs perfectly, and matched 'us'. read more

He exceeded our expectations of a real estate agent. He was a very nice person to work with. I highly recommend Man Realty for selling a home! read more

Phillip Chang has represented us in two transactions on the sell and buy side. He masterfully guided us through the sale of a home in 2020 during the worst of the uncertainty of the market during the first months of Covid. Then he helped us navigate the low inventory real estate market that has existed over the last two years in LA. We have been looking since 2021 with a tight budget. Phillip always kept his head and advised against jumping into the feeding frenzy bidding wars. His sound advice paid off big when we found the perfect home for the right price. He really knows the market, He is the consummate professional, savvy about how, when, and how much to bid. We found him to be super responsive and personable. We cannot recommend him more highly. We would trust him implicitly to represent us in any future transaction. read more

Was referred to the John Man Group, from a relative about 4 years ago. Met my agent Alyssa B., if can remember at a Starbucks. She patiently detailed the process of the home buying process. Couldn't be more happy! And highly recommend The John Man Group and hopefully, still can get an invitation to the Company Christmas banquet. Thanks!! read more

Man Realty - With Agent Alyssa B. Much Thanks. Sold above list within 45 Days. - Real Estate Services Near Me - Monterey Park, California

John Man Realty sold my house during the worst period of the Covid 19 quarantine.   And I could not be happier.  John's whole staff rallied to make this possible.  I received an excellent price at a time when few houses were selling.   I cannot say enough about the sage advice John and Phillip provided me in marketing the property, negotiating the price, and then navigating through all the contingencies.  They were especially creative in figuring out ways to show the property without any risk of illness to anyone.   I am a first-time seller from another country; I am unfamiliar with transactions like this.  I cannot begin to say how much their guidance gave me peace of mind throughout.  They gave me their undivided, personal attention regardless of the nature of the issue.     Special mention goes to Phillip.  At the close of escrow, there was an issue of receiving my money that had gotten stuck at the Fed. Reserve.  Phillip jumped on this and didn't stop until the matter was resolved.  Obviously, I was nervous, but Phillip saw this through to my absolute delight.  I enthusiastically give them a 10+ rating.   These people are the pros in their profession.  And they are so personable.  They will take care of you! read more

We had such a pleasant experience working with Catherine and Philip from Jon Man Realty. We were selling our home and also buying so you can imagine how stressful it might be. I felt like Philip really put in the work to get the best offer and we had many. Not to mention our home did sell over asking price. Catherine helped us find our new home and we are so greatful. We wanted a specific type of home and she found it. Anytime we had a concern it was promptly adressed and escrow went smooth. It was definitely the best decision to go with Jon Man Realty. read more

Jonathan, Philip, and the team at Man Realty help me sell a nightmare property. I represented a trust that owned a property located in the San Gabriel Valley which needed to be sold quickly at top dollar. The property had two renters, cracked foundations, a separated sewer line and numerous other problems. Jonathan and team worked tirelessly in helping to sell this property quickly. Through the process the renters made it nearly impossible to show the property, but Jonathan and Phillip assisted in reducing the tension in the situation and convincing the tenants to cooperate with the sale process. In the end top dollar was secured and everyone walked away happy. I wouldn't choose any other relator to represent my interests in the Los Angeles Area. read more

We found our dream home! A big thank you to Phil Chang of ManRealty for sending us options from his MLS account and being honest and open with us about the conditions in some homes that we were blind to. He was patient and answered all of our questions to make this process less stressful than we thought. Phil was a great real estate agent and it was reassuring to have him view homes with us because he was so knowledgable about the home buying process and what potential issues we should keep an eye out for. Thank you! I hope I don't have to buy a home for a long time but if I do I'll look for you. read more

Catherine helped my family sell a home in South Pasadena, CA back in Fall of 2016. She was very professional and coordinated well between the parties. Catherine was also very familiar with the market and local purchasing behavior. The above and her extra level of care contributed to a successful, expedited transaction; she found us a buyer within a month of listing. Keep in mind that it was a $1.5 million home so I understand how homes at this price range usually take a lot more time. My family is forever thankful for her help and we forward to our next deal with Catherine. read more

Jonathan proved to be exceptional in helping us find a new home. He understood what we were looking for and made recommendations. We had interviewed some other great agents in the area but are very glad with our decision to work with Man Realty. read more

Have you ever wondered how can a business only have 5 star reviews? People are probably too lazy to post review or do not want to disclose their identities. The way Manrealty works is that their boss John Man goes and meet the sellers and present everything nicely and talks about their strategy then assign the case to one of his agents. If you are lucky, you end up with a good agent, if not, you are on your own. You have to suck it up and deal with crappy agents as once you sign the contract, they will constantly exert pressure to list the house low, and accept offers below what you want. They don't act on your best interest as they only want their commission, whether you sell 5% or 10% below asking didn't matter to them as their commission won't change more than few hundred dollars while you are losing thousands. This commission rebate is also to get you in, they charge 5% to seller after their "rebate". Come on, market rate is 5% standard, and you can negotiate down to 4% if you know the agent. Don't think because they are bigger they will sell better, this is not true. At the end, we sold our house, but not at the price we wanted because we were tricked into listing it low and buyers generally offer below asking in Monterey Park. You are better off going with a individual agent that can give you personal attention, treat you with respect, and charge a cheaper commission. read more

July 9, 2020 To Whom It May Concern: This is a negative review for John Man, owner of Man Realty and Edward Chan, a Real Estate Agent with by Man Realty. Man Realty advertises as follows: "Man Realty's goal is to deliver an Affordable, Convenient, and Enjoyable home buying and selling experience with a commitment to excellent service." This has NOT been my experience. Edward Chan was the listing agent for the Condo that I purchased. During the first week of moving into my Condo I began to encounter several hidden pre-existing problems that Edward Chan and Man Realty failed to disclose during the process of the sale. The problems are as follows: 1. INTERIOR FLOODING - This not only caused damage to the cabinets, drywall and carpet, it also rendered the kitchen unusable for over two (2) months. 2. CONTAMINATED WATER - The water flowing through the kitchen sink faucets was determined to be CONTAMINATED. The type of contamination has been identified as #3 CONTAMINATED. 3. MAJOR PLUMBING REPAIR - This repair involved jack hammering the concrete floor slab to allow for repair of the plumbing issue. 4. ROOF LEAK - Discovered during the following week when the heavy rains came. 5. WINDOW LEAK - Discovered during the week when the heavy rains came. 6. MOLD - Discovered during the week when the heavy rains came. 7. MOLDY CARPET - GUEST BEDROOM - Also discovered during the week when the heavy rains came. I'm still waiting for carpet to be replaced. 8. Edward Chan did however do some re-painting before I moved in, trying to "cover-up" some of the previous damage. SELLER'S DISCLOSURE DOCUMENT - MISREPRESENTED POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST - OWNER/AGENT I had not mentioned that Edward Chan was not only the selling agent; he was also the property owner and resided in the Condo prior to selling it to me. Edward. Chan was not truthful in his disclosure of the condition of the Condo. I can only assume that Edward Chan knew of the costly issues and wanted to "dump" the property as soon as he could. It is my opinion; Edward Chan is a shrewd/owner/agent because it is inconceivable to me that a person can move into a new residence and in a few days be in the midst of MAJOR HIDDEN REPAIRS! There was no honesty forthcoming from Edward Chan and in my opinion Edward Chan is not a trustworthy individual. Both John Man and Edward Chan are very aware that I've filed three (3) different insurance repair claims, and I've spent over $5,000.00 of my own money for repair of the pre-existing problems not covered by insurance. As of this writing, John Man and Edward Chan have NOT offered me any compensation. I am forwarding this with much more information, documentation and photographs to Sacramento. If this negative review helps the public in any real estate transactions involving John Man Realty and/or Agent, Edward Chan, I have done my due diligence. I do have supporting documentation relative to my complaints. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of Man Realty. Sincerely, Anita Berresse Hemet, CA read more

Man Realty is a great place to start for all your real estate needs. I started out with other companies when I decided to put my home for sale. I felt the other companies wanted volume over getting me the best offer. John and Philip gave me the best options and price. In the end, I sold way over asking. The process was easy and painless. Much of it was done electronically. They gave me that option. I preferred that over driving around under the hot weather.
