Fun place to stop while in northern Michigan! They have a nice variety of craft cocktails as well as locally made gin, vodka, and whiskey. I'd recommend the lavender vodka! Staff are incredibly friendly, and there's a nice amount of seating inside and outside the bar. read more

Good cocktails and excellent service. They bring in live music as well. I have been to the Central Lake location a few times and really enjoyed each visit. I like the Mammoth Old Fashioned. The Manhattan is also good but in my opinion the Old Fashioned was better. read more

The Bourbon Old Fashioned and "The Dude" (White Russian) cocktails were awesome! We also enjoyed a flight of the BORROWED TIME SPIRITS for $10. Well worth it! All employees were wearing masks, customers wore masks when not at their tables. Tables and bar chairs are spaces 6 feet. Clean bathroom. Great store! read more

I liked the corner location for Central Lake. The distillery has a great ambiance that's warm with an up north hospitality. The bar is clean and the staff was friendly and made sure I was taken care of. I tried all their spirits and I liked mostly everything. Of note, their gin and rye are really nice on their own but in a craft cocktail even more enjoyable. If you're in proximity come check it all out. read more

We anticipated the opening of this distillery in our second hometown and they did not disappoint. We gave each other the cask membership for Christmas. The drinks are top quality. The bartenders are friendly hard workers. They hustle out creative cocktails in our northern Michigan retreat. Their products are top notch. Don't miss this opportunity. Ouch...sat here on a slow Saturday night, hoping to buy a $12 cocktail. We are members, having paid a fairly sizable fee to have a cask. We both went to the bathroom and continued to wait while the 2 staff members chatted up other customers, stared at the cash register and searched the television for a football game no one was interested in. We got up to leave and someone drifted our way and said "my bad" when we said we were leaving. Anyone want to buy our membership? read more

We were in early on Saturday; husband likes a good bourbon so we wanted to try a Michigan-made. Mammoth did not disappoint! The setting was beautiful, the staff was awesome and every thing we tried we liked! Husband said the Old Fashioned was excellent, and although I generally don't like the taste of alcohol, the Duffy was sooo good! The Coffee Liqueur was also so wonderful, I had to buy a bottle for home. (Think I will change up the old kahlua ball recipe). Remarkable mixed drinks. I recommend the Tom Collins (gin), bourbon old fashioned (borrowed time), and also the Olivia De Havilland. These were quite possibly the best mixed drinks I've ever had. I loved this bar. It had the feel of a hip chicago tasting room, but is in the middle of nowhere. I actually found a groupon for it and decided to find it. We started with the tasting, which was fun in itself. My husband and I then both got a bloody Mary as we were told over and over it was the best. I will be coming back in the summer on the way to kings orchard for fruit picking. I don't think I would get the bm again as it wasn't my style of bm. There were many other drinks to pick from though. I'd love if they added some snacks too. (meats, cheese, no cook type of thing s) I'd stay for more than one drink then! read more

Really cute distillery in Central Lake. The only reason we actually came to Central Lake. Matt took us through a flight tasting. Awesome, knowledgeable and friendly. He was fun to chat with. Great distillery, great conversation with the owner who told us about each drink and the process of creating the business, great atmosphere. If you want to get a taste (literally) of a fantastic distillery in its infancy, this is your place. We split a liquor taster - with vodka, gin, whiskey, and rum, and had a cocktail each. I loved mine, the Aviator. No food yet, but pretzels etc while you're tasting is just enough. I left with a cute bottle of unique and delicious gin in the $30 range and will be back when I'm up north again! read more

Had a great time at the launch of Mammoth's tasting room over the 4th of July. Bought a bottle of their Vodka and Gin, and even got to flip the switch on their initial small batch production. Over all the quality of both spirits is excellent. Mammoth uses locally sourced products and I was told the very cool story of how they came to be. It's obvious these guys are passionate about what they do. Next time I'm up in Torch Lake I'll be buying some more. read more

Absolutely love this place! The Gin is incredible, as well as everything else on the shelf. Love the Bloody Mary's too. Only complaint is it's just to far from home (4 hrs). Collin always takes care of us, and sometimes when we're lucky we see Chad or Doug behind the bar. read more

My grandparents used to be live in Central Lake, so I grew up visiting the charming small town every summer. When I found out that there was a craft cocktail place there (because I bought sale Mammoth vodka from Meijer for an event I was hosting), I knew my wife and I had to visit the next time we were Up North. Mammoth didn't disappoint. We each did the tasting flight and really appreciated the bartender's explanations of each product. We each also ordered a cocktail. I loved the Old Fashioned, as much for the care the bartender put into making it, and my wife enjoyed her Dark and Stormy. We also got some of their whiskey to take home for sipping and a bottle of Cherry Bounce as a Mother's Day gift that I hope will satisfy my mother-in-law's sweet tooth. Their products will almost all be available at Meijer across Michigan, so if you don't make it to the tasting room, you can still enjoy their liquor! The vodka makes an awesome Moscow Mule. read more

They distill their own gin, vodka, rum, bourbon, whiskey and cherry whiskey. I had a taster of the gin, bourbon, whiskey and cherry whiskey and all were very good. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable of how their distilling process was different than others and what subtle differences it makes. read more

Upon arriving we were hardly greeted by the gentleman working behind the bar, and other than two additional employees, we happened to be the only customers there. Chad and his staff are wonderful to work with! They are extremely well informed on the production of all kinds of liquors, and are eager and willing to share their knowledge! They enthusiastically pour craft cocktails made with their own outstanding vodka, gin, bourbon, whiskey etc... produced from top notch ingredients, the right way. Wow....what a difference.....I hated gin (and vodka) until I tasted this. I am hooked! I took a group of conference attendees to see Chad, for a little fun and distillery "education". Our guests loved it, and most of them purchased a bottle or 2 to take back to the hotel. They talked about it for the next 3 days, so it was a great "ice breaker".
