This was our first time coming to this establishment though we have driven by many times. We arrived early and we happy they were open and ready to take our order. I talked with the friendly young lady who gave some recommendations and was willing to get creative to make something off the menu for my daughters. We ordered the supreme pork burrito and supreme steak burrito. The smells were amazing while we waited and our food was being cooked. Got the food and got home as fast as possible. The steak burrito was big but not crazy. The steak was grilled well and had great taste. The avocado, sour cream, rice, beans and cheese together is alway a good thing. The pulled pork burrito was also really good and fed both my girls. Two hot sauces were given - green = mild, reddish = HOT (very tasty). I would recommend this food truck and appreciated the good food and friendly service.

She was not wearing a mask the whole time making my food . She also was on her phone most of the time and she was not wearing any gloves . Didn't wash hands after touching her phone then going back to making the street tacos . I did not like the tacos , they barley put any meet and cover it in tomato's so you can't see how much meat there is on them . I tried to get my money back , she refused because I had taken one bite out of them . Asked for owners phone number she would not give it to me then threw my food back at me through the window then slammed the window shut and locked it . First time going here and I will never be returning. Wasted $10 on 4 tiny tacos I never even ate . Very disappointing service and food . I recommend the taco truck in the parking lot of Allen market off of Allen and hall .

This taco cart I think moved from another location because the address is different now. It's located on Barbur Blvd. I ordered using the old pics on Yelp and their menu has changed so I will post new menu photos. We got two burritos and some tacos. A tiny high on the pricing. Tacos were 4 each and the burritos were 10. They were both good, I wouldn't say exceptional though. Minced style meat with various veggies, beans, cheese and rice. It was a little mushy since it was minced meat so didn't provide much texture. The green sauce was good but they gave us a red ish sauce and it was really hot! Will might go here again, it's right by our house but there are better options in the area. My husband wishes they still had the mole which was featured on an older menu.

Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

We decided to do the $45 lunch deal where we let them feed us and basically got a 10 course lunch (totally worth it)! Since we tried so many things, some courses were a miss and some were a big hit. It was really fun! Some of my favorites were the arroz con frijoles, yes the rice and beans! They are so flavorful and served with house made tortillas. I think my favorite thing was the tostada topped with white beans, cabbage, and roasted corn - insane! I also loved the Huarache with adobo squash and I'm not normally into smokey things, but everything just worked together. I wasn't the biggest fan of one of the moles we were served, but there was a sweeter one that was paired with eggplant that I couldn't stop eating. We ended the meal with 2 desserts and 1 came with a candle for our friend, which is always such a lovely gesture. The fried concha was incredible!! GET IT! Ours had ground cherries and a lime whipped cream and I would come back just for that. This is definitely a spot that's worth the tasting menu! There are so many flavors to explore you will want to try everything!

For the amount of food and the overall experience, I thought it was a great way to experience the restaurant. Ángel took care of us and made the meal even more memorable by telling us the story and inspiration behind each dish as it came out. It made the tasting feel like much more than just trying a bunch of different dishes. I'm definitely a carnivore and usually feel like a meal needs some kind of meat, but surprisingly, my favorite dish was the mole with eggplant and rice. The mole was delicious, and I genuinely didn't miss having meat on the plate. I would happily order that dish again exactly as it was. The tomates en salsa arabe were another standout. I really enjoyed how fresh the dish tasted, especially with the seasonal tomatoes they were using. I also had the carnitas tacos, which had great flavor and texture. For dessert, we had what was essentially a fried concha, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. It had just the right amount of sweetness for me and was a great way to finish the meal. Overall, I highly recommend doing the full tasting menu at República. For around $40 per person, you get to experience the entire menu, and if you're lucky enough to have Ángel there to walk you through the stories and concepts behind the dishes, it makes the experience that much better.

Inside is my favorite spot - the light is good, everything is nice, and it stays cooler in the hot months (won't everything be the hot months soon?). My friend loves eating outside - those adjustable, wall-mounted tables are great. I have only had four items from their menu: the bean torta (the first thing I bought and took to eat with a friend - so long ago I remember nothing!), the tostada (nothing that stands out, but definitely fresh), the burger (I got it without ham and it blew my mind!), and the Cart Bowl. Reader, there is something about that bowl that makes it almost impossible to order something else. I did those two times, but once I had tasted the Cart Bowl with their chicken and avocado, it was game over. For a while (3 years?), I came here with a friend every Thursday evening. Every Thursday I had the bowl. I never got tired of it. The way they cook their meat, the flavors of all the ingredients when combined, always tastes perfect. I have had their margaritas. They are really delicious!! They also have bottle and tap beer options. I usually come during the day, so try to resist the margarita (margarita = mid-day nap time), but I look at other people's longingly. It is first come, first seated.
