(I've had the chicken strips which are from Chester's, and they were just great! Great tasting, and huge! I've also had their new "Jo-Jo's", which is something that they were one time known for, and these new ones were bigger and inedible!) The worker that I've interacted with twice is very nice and knows her stuff! The only problems that I've encountered are in the parking lot. There are two different "ramps" you can take to get in, and neither are at the right angle to get into the first parking spot. It also looks pretty bad from the outside, and the inside doesn't have a TON going on, despite me still thinking that the inside looks nice! They also didn't get a new sign, which would be fine if the sign wasn't so old! Overall I think that this is a fine place to stop by if you're okay with it being in a neighborhood! (I'm okay with it, but it can be intimidating and scary!) I'm going to be coming back to try and help support their launch!

What happened??? Our visit was with 4 people and it was almost lunch time. Our orders included a breakfast meal which was freshly cooked and close to perfect. The chili was good (canned?) but the cornbread was dry and hard. Then, we get to the sandwiches and we could not believe what we were given. To begin with the philly was served on toasted bread. It was absolutely awful and the only reason we knew it was a philly was because that's what she ordered. Next came the french dip with the au jus. The au jus was thick and cool and wasn't worth dipping. There was very little meat and it should not have been on the menu. This should be a 1* but am giving them the benefit by rating it 2*.

I could've done without the lettuce or tomato and would've liked some more chicken salad. The pasta salad was not something I would get again. It wasn't good or bad just ok. Now that I have looked back I think that I may have been a bit harsh, I will admit I haven't been to Sunrise Market since I graduated from elementary school back in 1994 so this review may be way dated but hopefully when someone ever does another review the people reading these reviews will see how things could have changed for the better or worse. Now, onto the review. I paid daily pilgrimages to this store when I attended Wallace Elementary that was a block away. This was the go to place for all the children who went to school at Wallace. To us when we were children this store was a Mecca. It had almost everything a child could want, some of the things that I used to buy from the store was: Ok Soda, Bubble Yum Soda, Crystal Clear Pepsi, Candy Cigars, Candy Cigarettes, Green River, Surge, Jolt, Big Red, Giant Pixy Sticks just to name a few items. The only thing that the store really didn't offer was video game rentals and vhs rentals. Back in the mid 80's video and game rentals were a major boom. The candy and soda wasn't the only thing I remember fondly about this store. For some reason this store was the only one in the area that sold Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles magazines, back in the 80's they were popular. Along with the magazines they sold Ninja Turtles trading cards. I got most of my collection from that store. Fast forward to today, haven't gone to the store in 20+ years but I've heard that it's changed drastically. The only things I know for sure is that the store has been painted a few times. The store used to be red, when it was people oddly called it the "Pink" store, then it was actually painted pink and now it's been painted in a Seahawks theme. Maybe one of these days I'll pay another visit.
