Potato pancake and cabbage roll. So good!!

I'm very thankful for the reviews on here as it got me to try this place. What a wonderful find and so much better than eating at a chain restaurant or fast food place. It is not a big place but you are made to feel welcomed and appreciated. Food is fantastic and inexpensive. I had to try the potato pancakes and the cabbage rolls. One of each plus a can of pop was only $8. Right next door is a deli meat location and it looked like Mama Maria's makes the carry out food for them. It's too bad I rarely get to this area as both of them would be on my stops.

Stuffed cabbage, sauerkraut and cheburek. All delicious.

The food was delicious! And very good portion size. We ordered the stuffed cabbage and split the meal. Surprisingly good size for lunch. I think the owner was waiting on us. Very authentic and fun to experience. This felt like a great " mom and pop" place. It was crowded but that was part of the fun.

EXCELLENT Ukrainian cuisine! The place is small, but quite cozy. My girlfriend and I ended up sitting at the "Employee's Only" table, but our waitress did not complain or dissuade us from sitting there. Our wonderful waitress was Oksana, and she was efficient, professional, and courteous. If you're looking for an authentic Ukrainian restaurant, that has amazing home-cooked food and hard-working employees, then look no further! THIS is the place to go to!

Decor

First time at Mama Maria Kitchen--and it won't be the last! We tried the cheburek and derun, and they were absolutely delicious. Everything is truly homemade, and you can actually watch them cook it right in front of you, which makes the whole experience feel even more authentic. The moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into Ukraine--from the incredible smells to the beautiful, traditional decor. Warm, welcoming, and full of flavor. If you're craving real Ukrainian comfort food, Mama Maria Kitchen is a must-visit!

This place is truly a hidden gem. Very small and does not look like much on the outside but inside you are greeted by incredibly friendly staff and delicious food. They have a restaurant where you can sit down and eat or get take out. Next door they also have a spot where you can order more things to go and it is more of a deli. You can tell this place really cares about their customers. Also the prices are incredible.

Excellent authentic Eastern European food. I had the pork schnitzel, potato pierogi and German potato salad. We dined-in but most people get take out it was delicious! They take credit card. Hard to find. No big signage, but it is right next door to State Meats. Two thumbs up!

Great food! Cheap and huge portions. These pictures are one meal split and half. Really really delicious

The atmosphere at this place is perfect, it feels like eating with dinner at my Baba's house. The food is a nice blend of polish, Ukrainian, and German, and food is always great and they are accommodating to both Ukrainian and English speakers.

The food is excellent! The service is quick. I would drive 3 hours just for the Cheburek alone!

Fresh authentic food at reasonable prices. Longer hours and more inside seating would be helpful.

You order food at the counter, online or at the drive thru and they do have indoor seating. The menu consisted of soup, salad, deli sandwiches and spuds (baked potatoes). They offer a "choose 2" option, which is 1/2 soup, salad, sandwich or spud + another half for $10.99. There is an up charge for Premium options that are marked with a red "P". My total was $12.19 including tip for the Choose 2. I tried the 1/2 spud with chili and cheese and 1/2 grilled chicken club sandwich. Food was fresh and came out quickly. Service was Excellent! Nice decor too with big screen TV's and clean restrooms.Highly recommend McAlister's!

I did want the sauerkraut to have more tang, and I think the dressing got somewhat lost in the mix, but I still thought it was a tasty sandwich. The $12.99 price tag also came with a pickle and a small side of unremarkable but serviceable potato salad. I was pleased to see that the soda fountain came stocked with Diet Dr. Pepper. I'm accustomed to restaurants only offering diet Coke/Pepsi for zero-sugar soda options. For dessert, I got a slice of the Colossal Carrot Cake, which didn't quite live up to its name, though it was a sizeable slice. The cake was moist, and if you like carrot cake, you'll probably be happy with McAlister's. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean.

Much bigger than it looks from outside. There's a lot to look through in this small store so take some time. A favorite section is the beer. It all is located in a small refrigerated section. There's all kinds of unfamiliar sounding beers so you aren't going to find cans of Natty Lite or shit like that. Beer of this quality here is pretty cheap. There's a few large bottles for about $2, and these are pretty large. Besides the beer they also have lots of coffee and pop. They have some varieties that you can't find anywhere else like it seems. Among the food is lots and lots of candy. It's about $2 for a good size bag and there's lots to choose from. The ingredients are in different languages but includes English too. It even has a produce section and the fruits and vegetables look fresh. They have a very large deli section. Cool place for getting European food. It can be hard to find because it's hard to see. This is in the shopping plaza that's at the corner of State and Pleasant Valley.

My search didn't take me long, as I quickly found Express Deli: 5 minutes from the airport with an absurdly good rating. I don't always love ruben's, mostly because I'm not the biggest corn beef fan, but when they are done well, I am down. And I figured a place with a 4.9 rating would probably hit the spot. I think it did! I assume the mustached man who was a mirror image of the mascot was the owner, and he couldn't have been friendlier. There were only a couple of tables in here, so we sat down to ate, while a steady crowd of pick-up orders flowed through on a Friday at lunch time. My friend absolutely *insisted* I mention that they do not have parking spot lines painted in their lot. I am not one to turn down a dare, but I also acknowledge that these are the most inconsequential words I've ever typed in over 3,500 reviews. If you were to rank my priorities when evaluating a sandwich, the parking spot lines wouldn't crack the top 500. But my job is done here.
